Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

Neste sentido, este estudo teve como objetivo geral analisar os investimentos realizados em infraestrutura educacional no Estado do Paraná, entre 2010-2014 e, de igual forma, enfatizar a presença do Estado na garantia ao direito de acesso à educação, como um direito fundamental universalmente instituído. Entre os objetivos específicos procurou-se identificar o Estado como regulador na distribuição dos recursos, estipulados por meio de diretrizes orçamentárias que definem o quantum destinado para cada Estado, tomando como base questões pontuais; definiram-se os critérios de regulação e planejamento do orçamento público para financiar o sistema educacional; relacionou-se o orçamento público como investimento usado pelo Estado para promover a adequada gestão da educação cidadã; definiu-se infraestrutura escolar; levantou-se, por meios de dados estatísticos e informações teóricas, o quantum de recursos foram transferidos pela União ao Estado do Paraná, destinados a infraestrutura escolar, no período objeto de análise. Utilizou-se como método de pesquisa um estudo de revisão e a consulta de dados estatísticos e teóricos oriundos do Ministério da Educação e de páginas da Internet.Abstract : The public budget is the instrument by which the state boasts to enable the construction and maintenance of public bodies, including many provide services directly to society, such as education, health, safety, welfare and other basic necessities that requererm survival dignity of an individual. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the investments made in education infraesturtura in Paraná, between 20102014 and, equally, to emphasize the presence of the state in ensuring the right of access to education as a fundamental right universally instituted. Among the specific objectives aimed at identifying the state as regulator in the distribution of resources stipulated by budget guidelines that define the quantum allocated to each state, based on specific issues; defined the criteria for regulation and planning of the public budget to fund the educational system; It was related to the public budget as investment used by the state to promote the proper management of citizen education; set up school infrastructure; rose by statistical means and theoretical information, the quantum of funds were transferred by the Union to the State Government, for school infrastructure, the object of analysis period. Reflections on identity management in smart industry:the paradox of Theseus' ship and beyond
No full textSustainable digitization of factories (and especially IoT) requires all data related to “things” (products, equipment, but also informational objects) to be stored for later reference in a so-called digital shadow. This paper addresses an identity question: “which data should be stored as a so-called digital shadow of an object?” and identifies two opposing principles, Single Source of the Truth vs Local Autonomy. The first principle keeps data objects small and uses links to other data objects. It expands object’s life time. The second principle advices to keep objects large, reduces linkages but limits object’s life time. The paper analyses these two principles for physical objects as well as for related informational objects. Some guidelines for application are given

Objetivando apresentar medidas alternativas contributivas para a reestruturação do quadro organizacional da unidade, busca apresentar mecanismos possíveis de auxiliar na minimização do elevado número de mortes e feridos em acidentes rodoviários, geradores de elevado custo monetário e social para a economia. Não obstante a falta de critérios científicos para o estabelecimento de efetivo necessária para atender a demanda existente no estado para atuar de forma continuada na malha rodoviária estadual, com extensão estimada em 15 mil quilômetros, e presumível que fiscalização constante e repressão rigorosa ao excesso de velocidade, embriagues ao volante e imprudência sejam as medidas mais viáveis para a diminuição de acidentes graves. Partindo da premissa que o efetivo disponível no BPRv para atuar nos 64 postos de polícias rodoviárias distribuídas entre 6 companhias no Estado do Paraná não esteja correspondendo as evoluções constatadas, são estabelecidos comparativos entre as variáveis estudadas, permitindo a conclusão de que o quadro de integrantes da unidade atualmente não reúne condições para cumprir a contento sua missão nas rodovias do estado, urgindo a necessidade de sua complementação, além de mudança na legislação pertinente e da busca de identificação de comportamentos que conduzem os motoristas a prática da desobediência da legislação de trânsito quando da ausência da fiscalização
