Power in wheelchair propulsion: Advancing the use of wearable sensors for wheelchair sports practice
From the perspective of wheelchair sports practice, there is a growing need to provide feedback on power output. Power can be used to monitor athletes' fitness and fatigue levels, thereby preventing overtraining and potential injuries, to individualize and analyze training programs, and it is also an objective measure of effort or intensity. Determining mechanical power preferably occurs without inconveniencing athletes or coaches. Therefore, this dissertation focuses on developing a non-invasive and affordable method to monitor mechanical power in daily wheelchair (sports) practice. Credibility and Social conflicts: Mining Institutions and Rural Community in China
The mining governance in China features a dilemma: on the one hand, there are various issues inherent in China’s mining institutions: 1) an outdated nature of the current legislation, 2) ambiguity in the regulations, and 3) administrative fragmentation of responsible authorities. On the other hand, China has witnessed a fast growing mining industry. Therefore, this study aims to explain this phenomenon by adopting the theories and conceptual framework on institutional function and credibility put forward by Ho (2005, 2014, 2016a).
