Introduzione a "Teoria e pratica del testo. Grammatica, nuovi media, didattica, letteratura"
No full textIl binomio terminologico del titolo di questa Teoria e pratica del testo vuole richiamare le relazioni chiave nell’odierno dibattitto su lingua e testualità: il sempiterno ‘criticismo’ del rapporto tra struttura e uso, norma e variazione, invarianza e frattura. Le cinque sezioni che compongono il volume sono l’architrave editoriale di questo sintetico manifesto degli intenti. La prima (forse tale non a caso) ne contiene le parole chiave (“grammatica, testi, usi”), mentre nella seconda si ragiona sulle mutazioni di paradigma nel seno delle cosiddette neotestualità del web e della relazione fra media vecchi e nuovi. L’intero corpo qui descritto, poi, assume nuova luce laddove il tema ruota intorno agli approcci e ai metodi che ogni giorno vengono messi in campo per provare a co-costruire apprendimento linguistico con soggetti di L1 diversa dall’italiano (sez. 3). La successiva sezione è dedicata al testo poetico nella doppia chiave testuale-filologica e critico-divulgativa. Chiude il libro la parte a firma di Roberto Sottile, una rilettura a distanza di un quarto di secolo dei primi saggi di etnolinguistica dello studioso che sarebbe diventato uno dei più influenti e acuti dialettologi italiani

No full textIl lavoro si inserisce all’interno del più generale dibattito sulla complessa
trama di relazioni che unisce lingua e identità. In particolare, ci si concentrerà sul
ruolo che la linguistica gioca e potrebbe giocare in funzione di mediazione fra politiche
linguistiche (attuate o anche solo proposte) e le concrete pratiche discorsive
messe in campo dai parlanti. In questa prospettiva, nella prima parte del contributo,
si discuterà di come il concetto di identità sia stato variamente declinato dalle
scienze linguistiche nel corso del XX e in questo primo scorcio di XXI secolo.
Nella seconda parte, si presenterà un possibile modello in grado di rendere conto
del modo in cui i parlanti costruiscono ed esprimono discorsivamente le loro molteplici
identità. A questo proposito, si discuterà dell’esperienza dell’Atlante Linguistico
della Sicilia (ALS), evidenziandone sia gli aspetti teorici e metodologici
sia le soluzioni analitiche adottate.The aim of the paper is to investigate the complex web of relationships between
language and identities. In particular, the paper focuses on the role that linguistics
could play in mediating between language policies and concrete speakers’
discourse practices. In this perspective, in the first part, we briefly show how the
concept of identity has been developed by linguists during the past century and
since the birth of the 21st. The second part deals with the models which may be
employed in order to represent and explain speakers’ identity. For this purpose, we
will discuss the experience of the Linguistic Atlas of Sicily (ALS), showing both
the theoretical and methodological issues and the analytical solutions

No full textThis paper studies the linguistic variability in Italian music songs from a sociola point of view, a new research approach with only few studis in the current bibliography. The social factors of linguistic variation will be called into question to discuss the meaning of "folk song", a rather complex notion. First of all, we shall remark that many recent studies on songs use the term 'opular' with a quite different meaning rather than the meaning used in Italian linguistics. The variationist approach allows us to define the meaning of "folk song", because it shoes the close relationship between linguistic features and the social world represented in folk songs. In this perspective, we shall be taking into account the expressions of the 'folk' both in Italian songs and in the ones in dialect. On one hand, we shall be discussing the work conducted by researchers in athnomusicology between the first and the second half of the 20th century showing how this work has led to the preservation of an important heritage for Italian culture. On the other hand, we will consider the relationships between this kind of work and the internal situation of the Italian linguistic repertoire
Rights of Migrants in European Space: Notes for an Introduction
No full textThisintroductorychapterreflectsonthenatureofcontemporarymigratory movements, focusing on transversally relevant themes, such as the spatial dimension of reception, with particular reference to the “right to the city” and the right to housing; the sphere of human rights, with particular attention to the right to mobility, citizenship and social security; the sphere of multilingualism and linguistic rights, with particular regard to migrants’ narratives and education. Starting from these key themes, the volume’s editors provide a synthesis of the experiences gained at the national and international level by the authors of the individual chapters, comparing them with the current international scientific debate on migration. The interdisci- plinary approach and the different and innovative ways of deepening the thematic content of the migration phenomenon have allowed us to identify some key research questions. Their answers find their place in the articulated and complex system of contributions that develops within the book, through three main parts that correspond to the three aforementioned themes
LA NARRAZIONE COME STRUMENTO DIDATTICO E DI RICERCA NELLA ESPERIENZA DI ITASTRA
No full textL’obiettivo di questo lavoro è quello di presentare il ruolo della narrazione nel modello didattico e di ricerca della Scuola di lingua italiana per Stranieri dell’Università di Palermo. In particolare, gli autori illustrano i tre pilastri su cui poggia l’impianto narrativo del modello di Itastra: l’autobiografia linguistica (§ 2); i laboratori artistico-narrativi (§ 3); la narrazione come pratica discorsiva metacomuncativa (§ 4). In conclusione del lavoro (§ 5) si evidenzia, da un lato, come la narrazione consenta di ampliare la capacità degli insegnanti di riflettere sulla loro attività didattica; dall’altro come essa contribuisca alla costruzione di una comunità di apprendimento centrata sulla forza che le lingue hanno di valorizzare le diversità e favorire la loro convivenza.
Narrative as a teaching and research method. The experience of ItaStra
The paper illustrates the role of narratives in the teaching and research model developed by the Italian language school for Foreigners of the University of Palermo (ItaStra). In particular, we discuss the three pillars on which the narrative model is based: linguistic autobiography (§ 2); artistic and narrative labs (§ 3); narrative as a meta-communicative practice (§ 4). In the last section (§ 5), we focus the fact that narrative can help teachers broaden their reflective capacity about teaching; narratives support the construction of a learning community where multilingualism plays a central role
Communicative Practices and Online Communities on Social Media in Migration Context
No full textThe chapter investigates the digital communication practices among a group of young migrants living in Palermo. In particular, the analysis aims to study both how migrant youth who belong to superdiverse networks use communicative resources and the way they handle the networked relations they establish in the host community. The data of the chapter come from the Facebook feeds of two young migrant youths who met each other and the researchers at a school of Italian in Palermo. Central in our work is the recognition of the need to change our views about the composition and trajectories of migrant groups. In this perspective we review literature on digital diasporas, underlining how this literature has built on research about social media communication, particularly work on context collapse and audience design. Finally, we argue that neither the concept of “diaspora” nor the different labels used for this kind of community (“intradiverse”, “light” “of practice” and the like) are able to capture the complexity of networks that young migrants are shown to construct online
