    No full text
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the personality and works of Karel Ladislav Kukla, an author who was sidelined, in today's literary context. The thesis presents Kukla primarily as a Prague author at the turn of the 20th century, who dealt with the fate of people affected by social poverty, in his own words called "the Prague mud", against a background of significant socio-cultural changes. In his works, Kukla managed to capture, with a great deal of authenticity, significant social and cultural phenomena taking place in Prague such as the renewal and cessation of existence of the original nightclub quarters; the post-war housing situation and the emergence and development of slum colonies. In individual chapters of the thesis, the author analyses the works of Karel Ladislav Kukla in the context of the aforementioned phenomena, which are set within a broader literary-cultural framework. Key words Karel Ladislav Kukla, Prague, the turn of the 19th century, czech literature, prostitution, margin of society, renewal, slum

This bachelor thesis is a case study and its main aim is to analyse the entrepreneurial activities of a German entrepreneur and the so called "king of the railways" Bethel Henry Strousberg in the Zbiroh region. Strousberg bought the manor farm estate Zbiroh in 1868. He intended to build a large railroad centre in this area which would later be called "Czech Manchester." His ambitious business activities (refurbishment of already existing factories and building of new ones, railways construction) collapsed during the depression of the 1870's. This thesis deals not only with the basics of the entrepreneurship and its development but predominantly with the causes of its fall. Standard methods of business history and regional history were used to write this thesis. Key words Strousberg, railway, iron industry, entrepreneur, entrepreneurship, Zbirožsko, manor farm estate Zbiroh, gründerzeit, Great Depressio

ObhájenoIn the war on terror some liberal states were willing to perform problematic practices targeted at certain segments of their population in order to ensure their national security. This thesis deals with specific illiberal practice used by the U.S. in the war on terror: detention of suspected terrorists indefinitely without fair trial. The theoretical framework of the study is constituted mainly of Copenhagen School´s concept of securitization and Carl Schmitt´s concept of the state of exception, which was further elaborated by Giorgio Agamben, Jef Huysmans and many others. The analytical part is based on the content analysis of selected documents and speeches (National Security Strategy 2002, 2006, 2010, National Defense Strategy 2008, Quadrennial Defense Review Reports 2001, 2006, 2010 and Bush and Obama speeches) with the aim to answer research questions (attitude of political leaders to preventive detention, ways how they legitimize these illiberal practices and realization of specific political discourse)

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Get PDF
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Pomocí několika softwarových programů vznikla grafická znázornění objemových odchylek jednotlivých dodávek a i samotné hodnoty entropie. Získané hodnoty entropie jsou podloženy přesnými a reálnými daty, takže výsledek analýzy nelze zpochybnit ovlivněním subjektivních faktorů. Jde o přesné, jasně definované výpočty.Katedra podnikové ekonomiky a managementuObhájenoThe bachelor thesis deals with the use of entropy to measure the complexity of supplier-customer system in Thun 1794 a.a. The main objective of this work was to define the function of buying in selected companies analysis and supply of key raw materials. The analysis of the preceding data collection, which was obtained from paper forms and then transcribed into electronic form. Using several software programs created a graphical representation of the volume deviations of individual deliveries and even the very values of entropy. The obtained values of entropy are based on accurate and real data, so that the analysis results can not question the influence of subjective factors. This is a precise, clearly defined computing
