No full textIn the context of the global sustainability goals introduced by the U.N. 2030 Agenda, the strong relevance of Goals 11 and 13 with respect to cultural heritage is highlighted, and programmatic content related to the New European Bauhaus and the Green Deal is discussed. A reflection on the role of cultural heritage and past buildings about the green revolution ahead is proposed, particularly on the building stock, which has a bearing on achieving the global sustainability goals. The ICOMOS 2019 and Europa Nostra 2021 documents are briefly addressed, showing how the issues of architecture, landscapes and intangible things of the past are part of the European identity structure, and require appropriate attention in policy agendas. sustainability measures for historic buildings in Italy is proposed: it presents an opportunity to consider a redefinition, also at the ontological level, of criteria and objectives of the disciplineof restoration and the role of historic building heritage in future societ

No full textWith reference to studies carried out, the contribution analyses the series of elements of the construction of the building and urban system of Venice, the canal system, and lagoon hydraulic practices.
Common traits are highlighted, such as the quality of construction, the use of reuse and adaptation principles, the prediction of behaviour over time, and the role of maintenance. As an early example of resilience and sustainability, Venice is not only substantially preserved with respect to the territorial, urban and building system, but also still represents a test-bed and a historical model of sustainability and adaptability

No full textAttraverso un'analisi delle dinamiche di evoluzione dei sistemi di illuminazione pubblica nella città di Venezia, e in particolare attraverso l'osservazione dei passaggi tra diverse tecnologie, dei cambiamenti nelle forme dei corpi illuminanti e nell'architettura della luce, è possibile leggere il cambiamento tra XVIII e ZIZ secolo della percezione del paesaggio urbano notturno, che ha avuto riflessi soprattutto nelle arti e nel modo di vivere alla città nelle ore notturne. Da questo punto di vista, il tempo presente è segnato da aspetti positivi, come l'evoluzione tecnologica dell'illuminazione pubblica e da aspetti negativi, come la degenerazione dei sistemi di illuminazione dei pubblici esercizi, di esercizi commerciali e degli stalli di commercio su suolo pubblico, cui occorre trovare rimedio normativo e tecnologico al fine di preservare il carattere dell'illuminazione artificiale urbana
