No full textIḥyā’ al-mawāt is one of the methods of owning certain land in Islam. Anyone who clears land and works on it has a right of ownership over the land. The method of owning land by iḥyā’ al-mawāt was actually practised in Tanah Melayu before the British colonialization. However, during the colonial period, they introduced a land system known as the Torrens system. The Torrens system is a system of land administration in which registration is very important to recognised land ownership and is in contradiction to iḥyā’ al-mawāt. This principle was applied through the enforcement of the National Land Code. The question arises whether ihya’ al-mawāt can still be applied and recognised under Malaysian land law. Therefore, the objectives of this paper are to discuss iḥyā’ al-mawāt and also to determine its place in Malaysian land law. This paper which employs the content analysis method of court case and statute finds that iḥyā’ al-mawāt is not recognised under the Malaysian land law and further, it is an offence under section 425 of the National Land Code

No full textLand law in Malaysia was based on the Torrens system, which was introduced by the British upon the colonization of Tanah Melayu. The system was used in this country through the enforcement of the National Land Code 1965. Before the British colonization, Tanah Melayu already had their own legal system based on Islamic law and Malay customs. The British colonization in Tanah Melayu had a big impact on the administration of land law when the Islamic law and Malay customs were abolished and replaced by the Torrens system. An issue arose whether the Islamic law and Malay customs were abolished or any room for its application. This paper will be discussed on applying Islamic law and Malay customs that were still existing in the administration of the land law Torrens system based in Malaysia. The method used was library research and document analysis. The finding was that Islamic law and Malay customs were recognized and applied only in certain cases. The exclusive power of the Syariah court that the amendment of Federal Constitutions has given opens room to the application of Islamic law and Malay customs in the administration of land law in Malaysia

Martin et al., PLoS Genet 2023 . A novel proneural function of Asense is integrated with the sequential actions of Delta-Notch, L’sc and Su(H) to promote the Neuroepithelial to Neuroblast transition.
These images were acquired by confocal microscopy from dissected third instar larval brains of several Drosophila melanogaster strains after immunostaining following the Materials and Methods described in the publication.
The Dataset is organized in folders identified by the name of the corresponding figure (for example, Fig 1). Within each folder, each image is labeled with the name of the Figure and panel in which the corresponding image fragment appears in the publication (for example, Fig 1B). All of them are provided as TIFF files.

No full textفي كتابات الجاحظ، تناول أديب العرب الجاحظ قضايا الموسيقى والطرب والغناء. كان الجاحظ معروفًا بعلمه وأدبه، وكتب العديد من الأعمال التي تسلط الضوء على جوانب الحياة المترفة في المجتمع. كتب كتابًا بعنوان "أخلاق المغنين" وآخر بعنوان "المغنين والغناء والصنعة". في هذه الكتب، دافع الجاحظ عن الغناء كفن فني، ورأى أنه يمتلك قواعد وأسسًا علمية تشابه مع غيره من الفنون والآداب. كان يروج للغناء باعتباره متعة فنية. وعلى الرغم من انتمائه للمعتزلة، إلا أن الجاحظ كان مشجعًا للغناء ومغنين، وكتب عن أخلاقهم وفنونهم. وفي رسالته "القيان"، تناول الجاحظ تأثير بيوت القيان والقيان نفسهن في المجتمع الإسلامي، حيث أشار إلى الفسق والعشق والفجور الذي قد ينتج عن هذا التأثير. بشكل عام، تركت كتابات الجاحظ أثرًا مهمًا في فهمنا لثقافة الموسيقى والطرب والغناء في العصور القديمة.In his writings, the Arab author Al-Jahiz addressed issues related to music, Tarab (a genre of music), and singing. Al-Jahiz was known for his knowledge and literature, and he wrote numerous works that shed light on the luxurious aspects of society. He authored a book titled "Ethics of Singers" and another titled "Singers, Singing, and the Craft." In these books, Al-Jahiz defended singing as an artistic form and believed that it possessed scientific principles and foundations similar to other arts and literature. He promoted singing as a pleasurable art form. Despite his affiliation with the Mu\u27tazila school of thought, Al-Jahiz was a supporter of singing and singers, and he wrote about their ethics and arts. In his treatise "Al-Qiyan," Al-Jahiz discussed the influence of courtesans and their households on Islamic society, pointing to the immorality, passion, and vice that may result from this influence. Overall, Al-Jahiz\u27s writings have had a significant impact on our understanding of music, Tarab, and singing in ancient times
