TORBA FLOORS FROM THE MALTESE ISLANDS: A PRELIMINARY ANALYTICAL STUDY
No full textThis study analyses twelve selected mortar and plaster floor surfaces, called torba, dating to the 4th and 3rd millennia BC, from three Neolithic sites in the Maltese Islands: Skorba, Santa Verna and Taċ-Ċawla. Traditional geoarchaeological methodologies of soil and sediment micromorphology as well as spectroscopic techniques of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) have been applied. The results suggest that torba is more varied than previously thought, providing a more nuanced picture of differing flooring materials. Both earthen-based as well as lime-based torba were present at Neolithic sites in the Maltese Islands. The analysis revealed that most of the torba material was unfired earthen material consisting of terra rossa and calcite. Nevertheless, two torba floor samples were lime-based involving the heat-treatment of terra rossa and calcite. This lime-based torba was obtained for mortars and plasters as early as the Neolithic period in the Maltese Islands

Geleneksel dip trol ağında torba ağ göz açılımını artırmaya yönelik çalışmalar
No full textBu çalışmada, geleneksel dip trol ağında 40 mm ağ göz boyuna sahip PE materyalden oluşan farklı torba tasarımları ile ağ göz açılımı artırılarak torba seçiciliğinin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Denemeler Ege Denizi Gülbahçe Körfeziʼnde 03 Haziran-28 Temmuz 2004 tarihlerinde, ticari olarak kullanılan standart (çevresinde 200 göz olan), daraltılmış (çevresinde 200 göz yerine 100 göz olan), döndürülmüş (çevresi 100 göz 90⁰ döndürülmüş) ve donatılmış (çevresi 100 göz olan torba PP Ø 8 ip üzerine %50 E ile donatılmış) torbalar ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplam 29 geçerli çekimde, torbalar arasındaki karşılaştırmada farklı vücut şekline sahip barbunya (Mullus barbatus) ve ısparoz (Diplodus annularis) türlerinin boy seçicilikleri değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler çemberli örtü torba tekniği ile elde edilmiştir. Barbunyada için standart torba (L50=11,8 cm), daraltılmış (L50=13,9 cm), donatılmış (L50=14,4 cm) ve döndürülmüş (L50=15,2 cm) torbaya göre düşük L50 değerleri verdiği tespit edilmiştir. Benzer bir şekilde ısparoz için standart torba (L50=9,2 cm), daraltılmış (L50=9,8 cm), donatılmış (L50=9,8 cm) ve döndürülmüş (L50=9,5 cm) torbaya göre düşük L50 değerleri verdiği tespit edilmiştir. Barbunyada L50 değerleri için torbalar arasında belirgin bir farklılık bulunurken (p0,05). Sonuç olarak ağ göz açılımı juvenil balıkların kaçmasını etkileyebilir. Bu çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre uygulanabilirliği ve seçicilik yönünden değerlendirildiğinde daraltılmış torba en iyi sonucu sağlamaktadır

Sportskomedicinska torba je važan i neizostavan dio sportskomedicinske opreme. Jednako kao što je bitno poznavati postavke proizašle iz dosadašnjeg iskustva, a vezane uz korištenje sportsko-medicinske torbe, toliko je važno poznavati što sve ulazi u njezin sadržaj. Instrumenti, sanitetski materijal, ostali neophodni pribor, toaletni pribor i lista neophodnih lijekova trebali bi biti osnova sadržaja svake sportskomedicinske torbe koju sportski liječnik i fizioterapeut u skladu sa svojim nadležnostima dopunjuju prema vlastitom iskustvu, ali i vezano uz specifiènost pojedinog sporta

No full textKoruyucu kültür, Nisin ve Delvocit ile Nipasol M olarak adlandırılan kimyasal koruyucular eklenerek üretilen yoğurt ve torba yoğurdu; +4 ve +10⁰Cʼde depolanmış, bu süre içerisinde mikrobiyolojik, fizikokimyasal ve duyusal özellikler incelenmiştir. Toplam bakteri ve maya sayıları, +10⁰Cʼde depolama boyunca artarken; laktik asit bakterileri sayısında +4⁰Cʼnin üzerinde depolama süresince çok küçük değişiklikler saptanmıştır. Depolama sıcaklıklarına bağlı olarak, titre edilebilir asitlik oranı artarken, pH değerlerinde azalma gözlenmiştir. +10⁰Cʼde depolanan örneklerde su salma diğer bir deyişle serum ayrılması miktarları artmıştır. Koruyucu ajan ilave edilmemiş ya da yetersiz seviyede ilave edilmiş özellikle +10⁰Cʼde depolanan örneklerde olgunlaşma sürecinde mayamsı tat oluşmuştur. +4 ve +10⁰Cʼlerde depolama sırasında, koruyucu ajanların katılıp katılmamasıyla duyusal ve fizikokimyasal parametrelerdeki değişiklikler arasında çok sıkı bir ilişki saptanmıştır

No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
