Coxeter categories and quantum groups
We define the notion of braided Coxeter category, which is informally a monoidal category carrying compatible, commuting actions of a generalised braid group B_W and Artin’s braid groups B_n on the tensor powers of its objects. The data which defines the action of B_W bears a formal similarity to the associativity constraints in a monoidal category, but is related to the coherence of a family of fiber functors. We show that the quantum Weyl group operators of a quantised Kac–Moody algebra U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}, together with the universal R-matrices of its Levi subalgebras, give rise to a braided Coxeter category structure on integrable, category {\mathcal {O}}-modules for U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}. By relying on the 2-categorical extension of Etingof–Kazhdan quantisation obtained in Appel and Toledano Laredo (Selecta Math NS 24:3529–3617, 2018), we then prove that this structure can be transferred to integrable, category {\mathcal {O}}-representations of {\mathfrak {g}}. These results are used in Appel and Toledano Laredo (arXiv:1512.03041, p 48, 2015) to give a monodromic description of the quantum Weyl group operators of U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}, which extends the one obtained by the second author for a semisimple Lie algebra

Uniqueness of Coxeter structures on Kac–Moody algebras
Abstract. Let g be a symmetrisable Kac–Moody algebra, and Ung the corresponding quantum group. We showed in [1, 2] that the braided Coxeter structure on integrable, category O representations of Ung which underlies the R–matrix actions arising from the Levi subalgebras of Ung and the quantum Weyl group action of the generalised braid group Bg can be transferred to integrable, category O representations of g. We prove in this paper that, up to unique equivalence, there is a unique such structure on the latter category with prescribed restriction functors, R–matrices, and local monodromies. This extends, simplifies and strengthens a similar result of the second author valid when g is semisimple, and is used in [3] to describe the monodromy of the rational Casimir connection of g in terms of the quantum Weyl group operators of Ung. Our main tool is a refinement of Enriquez’s universal algebras, which is adapted to the PROP describing a Lie bialgebra graded by the non–negative roots of g.<br/

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Surface roughness analysis of fiber post conditioning processes
The chemo-mechanical surface treatment of fiber posts increases their bonding properties. The combined use of atomic force and confocal microscopy allows for the assessment and quantification of the changes on surface roughness that justify this behavior. Quartz fiber posts were conditioned with different chemicals, as well as by sandblasting, and by an industrial silicate/silane coating. We analyzed post surfaces by atomic force microscopy, recording average roughness (R(a)) measurements of fibers and resin matrix. A confocal image profiler allowed for the quantitative assessment of the average superficial roughness (R(a)). Hydrofluoric acid, potassium permanganate, sodium ethoxide, and sandblasting increased post surface roughness. Modifications of the epoxy resin matrix occurred after the surface pre-treatments. Hydrofluoric acid affected the superficial texture of quartz fibers. Surface-conditioning procedures that selectively react with the epoxy-resin matrix of the fiber post enhance roughness and improve the surface area available for adhesion by creating micro-retentive spaces without affecting the post's inner structure
Limited decalcification/diffusion of self-adhesive cements into dentin
Resin cement diffusion into dentin may differ as a function of the pre-treatment regimen. Since self-adhesive cements do not require substrate pre-treatment for luting, penetration of and interaction with the underlying dentin are questioned. We hypothesized that differences in the resin cement diffusion into dentin may exist among current commercial adhesive cements. Composite cylinders were luted on mid-coronal dentinal surfaces by an etch-and-rinse cement (Calibra), a self-etching system (Panavia F 2.0), and 4 self-adhesive cements (Multilink Sprint, Rely X Unicem, G-Cem, Bis-Cem). Dentin/ cement interfacial characteristics were analyzed by a staining technique (Masson's trichrome) and by scanning electron microscopy. Conventional acid etching resulted in partially infiltrated adhesive interfaces differing from those achieved with the application of self-etching primer. No hybrid layer and/or resin tag formation was detectable at the interfaces bonded with self-adhesive cements. Limited decalcification/infiltration was observed for self-adhesive cements into the underlying dentin. Self-adhesive cements were not able to demincralize/dissolve the smear layer completely
"Closing the R&D Gap, Evaluating the Sources of R&D Spending"
Both spending and tax policies have been implemented in the United States with the goal of stimulating private sector research and development (R&D). Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.
Dentin treatment effects on the bonding performance of self-adhesive resin cements
The effects of dentin surface treatments on the microtensile bond strengths and on the interfacial characteristics of self-adhesive resin cements were investigated. Flat dentin surfaces were obtained from human molars and were treated as follows: (i) no treatment of dentin; (ii) 0.1 M EDTA scrubbed for 60 s; or (iii) 10% polyacrylic acid applied for 30 s. Three self-adhesive cements were used to lute composite overlays on deep-coronal dentin surfaces in the presence of simulated pulpal pressure (15 cm of H(2)O). Bonded specimens were cut into beams 1 mm thick and stressed in tension until failure. Fractured sticks were examined under a scanning electron microscope. Additional specimens were stained with Masson's trichrome and observed under light microscopy for interfacial evaluations. The bond strength to dentin of the hydrophobic and solvent-free cement (RelyX Unicem) was unaffected by the tested dentin treatments. The bond strength of the 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA)-based cement (Bis-Cem) decreased after treatment of dentin with EDTA and/or polyacrylic acid. The hydrophilic and water-containing cement (G-Cem) attained a higher bond strength when luted on polyacrylic acid-conditioned dentin. In conclusion, smear layer removal, opening of dentinal tubules, and the water content of dentin differently influence the bond strengths and the interfacial characteristics of self-adhesive cement-dentin interface
