No full textTutkimuksessa selvitetään viranomaisten toimivallan rajoja mielenterveyslain nojalla annettavassa virka-avussa, ja siinä esiintyviä ongelmakohtia käydään läpi lain tulkinnan avulla. Tutkimuksessa käydään läpi mielenterveyteen liittyviä toimintamalleja sosiaali- ja terveydenhuollon osalta, mitä mielenterveys on ja miten mielen järkkymiseen tulee suhtautua niin terveydenhuollossa kuin poliisitehtävälläkin. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitetään, mihin viranomaisten toimivaltuudet virka-aputehtävällä rajoittuvat ja mistä henkilöä voidaan laillisesti etsiä sairaalaan kuljetettavaksi.
Tutkimuksessani halusin selvittää, miksi virka-avun pyytäminen ja sen antaminen on ongelmallista juuri mielenterveyslaissa määritellyn virka-avun perusteella. Havaitsin ongelman olevan se, ettei lainsäädäntö nykymuodossaan anna kaikkeen yksiselitteistä vastaust

Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena on tutkia kasvattajien näkökulmasta kehitysvammaisen lapsen integroitumista tavalliseen päiväkotiryhmään Leppävaaran päivähoitoalueella. Tutkimme lisäksi, kuinka uskontokasvatus toteutuu Leppävaaran päiväkodeissa kehitysvammaisten lasten kohdalla.
Opinnäytetyömme on lähestymistavaltaan kvalitatiivinen eli laadullinen. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena. Kysely toteutettiin neljässä päiväkodissa Leppävaaran alueella. Kyselylomakkeita toimitettiin 76 ja niitä palautui määräaikaan mennessä 17. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysiä käyttäen.
Tutkimusten tulosten mukaan kasvatushenkilöstö kannattaa kehitysvammaisten lasten integraatiota normaalipäivähoitoon, kun henkilöstöresurssit ovat riittävät ja kasvatushenkilöstöllä on mahdollisuus saada tarvittavaa perehdytystä. Kehitysvammaiset lapset tarvitsevat erityistä tukea kasvatushenkilöstöltä sosiaalisten suhteiden luomiseen toisten lasten kanssa ja tämä voi toteuta riittävän henkilöstö ja avustajaresurssin turvin.
Tässä tutkimuksessa selvisi, että kehitysvammaisten lasten uskontokasvatusta toteutetaan päiväkodin suunnitelmien mukaisesti, kuvallisia ja esittäviä apukeinoja käyttäen.
Johtopäätöksenä voimme todeta, että lievästi kehitysvammaisten lasten integraatiota tavalliseen päiväkotiin pidetään kuntouttavana tukimuotona, kun resurssit ovat riittävät jolloin kasvatushenkilöstöllä on mahdollisuus kohdata ryhmän kaikki lapset. Kehitysvammaiset lapset ovat mukana uskonnollisissa toimintatuokioissa, tarvittaessa heitä avustetaan. Toiminta mukautetaan ja kerronnan tukena käytetään esittäviä keinoja.ABSTRACT

In our thesis we studied how, from the pedagogues’ point of view, integration of children with intellectual disabilities into a normal daycare group in Leppävaara daycare district takes place. We also studied how religious upbringing is realized among these children in Leppävaara daycare centers.
Our work is based on qualitative approach which includes sending out a questionnaire. The inquiry was carried out in four Leppävaara district daycare centers. There were 76 questionnaires altogether of which 17 were returned in given time. The material was analyzed using the method of material-based content analysis.
The study shows that the pedagogical staff gives support to integration of children with intellectual disabilities into normal daycare in case the staff resources are adequate and the pedagogical staff has the possibility to receive sufficient training. Integration of children with intellectual disabilities need special support from the pedagogical staff to be able to create relationships with other children. This can happen with sufficient staff and aid resources.
The study also points out that religious upbringing of the disabled children is carried out in accordance with the plans made by daycare centers, using visual techniques and different kinds of performances as supportive means.
Our conclusion is that the integration of the children with slight intellectual disabilities into a normal daycare center is considered to be a rehabilitative form of support if the resources are adequate and the pedagogical staff has the possibility to relate to each and every child in the group. Integration of children with intellectual disabilities takes part in religious activities and they receive special help when needed. The activities are adjusted according to their needs and visual techniques are used to support narration

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tehdä vangin tukihenkilön opas kristillisten yhteisöjen käyttöön. Opasta varten selvitettiin mahdollisimman laaja-alaisesti teoriatiedon, asiantuntijahaastattelujen ja laadullisen tutkimuksen avulla, millaista tukea vangit ja heidän läheisensä tarvitsevat vankeusaikana, vapautumisen aikana ja sen jälkeen. Haastatteluissa korostui se, että tukihenkilöltä odotetaan oikeaa motivaatiota ja tasapainoisuutta.
Laadulliseen tutkimukseen haastateltiin kymmentä miesvankia, joista viisi oli vapautunut, neljää naisvankia, joista kaksi oli vapautunut ja kolmea vangin läheistä. Haastattelut tehtiin teemahaastatteluina ja tulokset analysoitiin aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysiä käyttäen. Tulosten perusteella haastateltavat kokivat vangin tukihenkilön tarpeelliseksi. Vangin tukeminen tulisi aloittaa jo hyvissä ajoin ennen vapautumista. Tuen tarve vaihtelee henkilöstä riippuen ja se tulisikin tapauskohtaisesti kartoittaa. Erityisen tärkeiksi tuen muodoiksi katsottiin keskustelutuki, arjen tuki, hengellinen tuki ja tuki virastoasioissa.
Teoriatiedosta ja haastatteluista saadun tiedon perusteella tehtiin kaksi vangin tukihenkilön opasta. Internet-opas on laajempi kokonaisuus, ja se on saatavissa ViaDia Ry:n www-sivuilta. Painettu opas on taas tiivistelmä laajemmasta versiosta ja siihen on koottu kaikkein tärkeimmät asiat. Oppaiden sisällöissä pyrittiin saamaan erityisesti vankien ja heidän läheistensä äänet kuuluviin. Myös vankien kanssa työskentelevien henkilöiden ajatuksilla ja mielipiteillä on oma painoarvonsa. Tarkoituksena on, että kouluttaessaan vankien tukihenkilöitä kristilliset yhteisöt voisivat jakaa ja hyödyntää samalla oppaita. Opasta voivat käyttää myös muut toimijat, jotka haluavat toimia vankien ja heidän läheistensä tukena tai jotka ovat muuten kiinnostuneita aiheesta.

The aim of study was to create a guide book for a prisoner´s mentor for the use of Christian communities. For the guide we examined as extensively as possible what kind of support prisoners and people close to them need during the prison time, release and after release by using theoretical knowledge, expert interviews and qualitative research. In the expert interviews we asked what kind of hopes as well as demands focus on the mentor himself. The pronounced thing in the interviews was the expectancy of the right kind of motivation and the balance of the mentor.
For the qualitative research we interviewed ten male prisoners, five of them were released, four female prisoners, two of them were released and three persons close to a prisoner. Interviews were made as focused interviews and results were analyzed by using data-driven content analysis. Verbal support, support in everyday life, spiritual support and support when dealing with public servants were seen as especially important forms of support. On the basis of theoretical knowledge and interviews, we made two guide books for a prisoner´s mentor. The internet version of this guide book is more extensive and is available on the websites of Free Church of Kuopio. The printed guide book is a summary of the larger version and includes the most important things to our mind. The voices of prisoners and their close persons were attempted to be made specially heard in the contents of the guide books. The aim is that Christian communities will educate mentors for prisoners and among other things distribute these guide books to mentors. The guide book is suitable also for others who want to act as a support for prisoners or their close persons, as well as to people who are interested in this subject.

No full textTämä opinnäytetyö on työelämälähtöinen yhteistyö kahden eri alan muotoilijan välillä. Se käsittelee asustekorumalliston suunnitteluprosessia muotoilijan näkökulmasta kenkäsuunnittelija Minna Parikan yritykselle. Asustekorumalliston tarkoitus oli ilmentää Parikan malliston estetiikan lisäksi muotoilijan omaa kädenjälkeä.
Suunnittelutyön pohjan rakentaminen aloitettiin tutustumalla asustekorujen historiaan ja kevät/ kesä 2012 asusteiden trendeihin WGSN-nettisivujen mukaan. Työssä tulkittiin myös Minna Parikan kädenjälkeä ja yhtä hänen mallistoa. Asustekorumalliston suunnan hahmottamisen avuksi rakennettiin benchmarking-kollaasi.
4D-muotoilualusta toimi tärkeänä suunnittelun työkaluna kahdessa vaiheessa työtä. Sen avulla tutkittiin syvemmin Minna Parikan Spring/ Summer 2012 mallistoa ja lopuksi sitä käytettiin muokkaamaan suunnitellun asustekorumalliston koruideoita.
Luonnosteluprosessia arvioi ja kommentoi kenkämuotoilija Minna Parikka. Lopputuloksena työstä syntyi asustekorumallisto kolmesta eri teemasta. Mallisto oli inspiroitunut Parikan tuotteissa esiintyvästä kuvakielestä, jota muotoilija käsittely oman näkemyksensä kautta.This thesis is a working life-based collaboration between two designers from different lines. It deals with the designing process of an accessory jewellery collection for shoe designer Minna Parikka’s company from the author’s point of view. The aim of the accessory jewellery collection was to present the aesthetics of Parikka’s collection and in addition the designer’s own style.
The base for designing was started by getting familiar with the history of costume jewellery and spring/ summer 2012 accessory trends according to WGSN-websites. The thesis also explored Minna Parikka’s design and one of her collections. A benchmarking- collage was done to picture the direction of the accessory jewellery collection.
The 4D- product platform was an important designing tool which was used twice in this project. With the help of the 4D-product platform, Minna Parikka’s Spring/ Summer 2012 collection was explored deeper. It was also used in the designing process to modify the ideas for the jewellery.
The designing process was assessed and commented by Minna Parikka. The three-pieced accessory jewellery collection was made as the final result. The collection was inspired by Parikka’s design language which the author processed with her own vision

An Analysis of Motorcycle Traffic andCrashes in Nigeria – A case study of Minna, Nigeria.
No full textThe study examined the traffic volume by mode and established the prominence of the motorcycle as the principal mode of commuting in the city of Minna. Data was sourced through traffic census carried out by the author in November 2011, records from the general Hospital and the Federal Road Safety Corps Office in Minna. The analysis revealed that motorcycle traffic is particularly heavy in neighbourhoods off the main arterial road which concentrates 50% of all vehicular traffic, 83% of taxicabs and 35% of car movements in the entire city. The heavy volume of motorcycle traffic is reflected in the number of motorcycle crashes and casualties. Between 2000 and 2011, a total of 1,295 motorcycle crashes were recorded with August to December of every year as the worst months thus lending credence to the popular belief that the “ember” months are months of misfortune in Nigeria. During the same period, 13,918 motorcycle crash induced injuries and 227 deaths were recorded. The mean number of injured victims rose astronomically from 519 in the four-year period of 2000 – 2003 to 2,356 between 2008 – 2011. The study also revealed that behavioral factors such as dangerous driving, speed and route violation and driving under the influence of alcohol accounted for 75% of all the crashes.Keywords: Motorcycle, traffic, crashes, casualties, accident factor

Discourses and their boundaries define what is seen as possible, as well as the range of issues and their solutions. By exploring the connections between practices and discourses, Minna Kanerva develops a conceptual approach enabling purposive change in unsustainable social practices. Uni-valverytmi on yksi biologisista rytmeistä, joka rakentuu ihmiselle sisäsyntyisesti. Keskeisin asia opinnäytetyössä oli pienten lasten uni-valverytmiin vaikuttavien tekijöiden kuvaaminen. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kuvata vanhempien kokemuksia siitä, millaista ohjausta he ovat saaneet 0-2 vuotiaan lapsen univalverytmin kehittymisestä. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli saada tietoa vanhempien kokemasta ohjauksesta, ja sen avulla kehittää ohjauksen sisältöä, jota terveydenhoitajat antavat työssään. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa käsitellään vanhemmuuden tukemista, uni-valverytmin kehittymistä, tukikeinoja ja perheen voimavaralähtöistä ohjaamista.
Tutkimus oli kvalitatiivinen eli laadullinen. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin sähköisesti. Sähköinen saatekirje laitettiin internetin Vauva-, Meidän Perhe-, Terve.fi-, ja Vau.fi keskustelufoorumeille. Tutkimusaineisto saatiin sähköpostilla. Kertomuksia tutkimukseen tuli yhteensä kahdeksan kappaletta. Tutkimustulosten analysoinnissa käytettiin induktiivista sisällönanalyysiä.
Tutkimuksesta saatujen tulosten mukaan, vanhemmat olivat olleet pääsääntöisesti tyytyväisiä saamaansa ohjaukseen lasten uni-valverytmin kehittymisessä. Muutama vastaajista oli kokenut ohjauksen liian suppeaksi. Kehitettävänä vanhemmat toivoivat vertaistuen lisäämistä, ja konkreettisia esimerkkejä hoitokeinoihin.Degree programme: Degree programme in nursing, Public health nurse

Sleep-awake rhythm is one of the biological rhythms, which builds up on person internally. The most essential subject on this thesis was to describe the factors that influence small childrens sleep-awake rhythm. Also the main idea was to bring forth parents' experiences on what kind of quidance they have received in development of 0-2 years old childrens sleep-awake rhythm. The goal of the research was to accumulate information about parents' experiences of quidance on this matter and through that develop the content of the quidance which public health nurses provide to the parents.
The theory section of this thesis discusses on supporting of parenthood, the development of sleep-awake rhythm, supporting means and resource-based quidance of the family.
This research was qualitative. The research material was gathered electronically. Electric cover letter was post on Vauva-, Meidän perhe-, Terve.fi-, and Vau.fi discussion forums. The responses were received via e-mail. There were eight responses altogether. The choice of analysing method was inductive reasoning.
The results of the research imply that parents' were mainly satisfied with the quidance in the development the small childrens sleep-awake rhythm. Few of the answerers had experienced that the quidance were too concise. The parents' wished improvement on increasing the peer support and giving tangible examples of treatment methods
Performing the author/mother/merchant/wife: moving subject positions in Minna Canth's autobiography
No full textReading autobiography as a performative act enables for the analysis of processes involved in constructing the self. It provides a space for analysing the ways in which gender, nationality, and other social locations of the subject are negotiated. In this article, I read the famous Finnish nineteenth-century playwright and author Minna Canth’s concise autobiography, focusing on various locations of the autobiographical subject in this rather laconic matter-of-fact text. My reading follows current trends in feminist autobiographical theorising as well as feminist politics of reading. I strive to deconstruct the interpretation of autobiographies as dichotomously fixed texts. I suggest a more flexible reading that would take the ambiguities of the genre seriously, such as describing both the public and the private life of the author, constructing the subject of the narrative, both relational and autonomous, in addition to varying stylistically between mere factuality and decorative description. Such a reading takes into account the shifts of the subject positions as well as the styles of narration moving between feminine and masculine, rational and emotional, chronologically organised progress of the plot and a more vague way of organising the narrative according to the inner logic or the unconscious. In analysing the variations of narration, inspired by the theoretical and methodological discussion on intersectionality, I conceptualize autobiography as a site for negotiating and performing various subject positions, thus striving for a non-essential reading of autobiographies.peerReviewe
