No full textThe State Academic Chapel ”Doina” is the oldest and most significant performing choir in the Republic of Moldova. An
important stage of development occurred during the Second World War: in 1942, the chapel was reorganized into the Doina
Song and Dance Ensemble, which brought together musicians, singers and dancers from the Moldovan State Philharmonic.
The author considers issues related to the life of the choir collective during the evacuation period and the implementation
of concert activities in military field conditions. The geography of the ensemble’s tours is studied, the selection of the repertoire
and the interaction of the administration with composers, poets, and heads of other organizations are analyzed. Particular
attention is paid to the organization of everyday life and the life of the artists of the Doina Ensemble in wartime conditions.
The author uses all available archival materials from the funds of the National Archives of the Republic of Moldova, memoirs
of the artists of the ensemble, reminiscences of eyewitnesses, biographies of the artistic directors of the ensemble
An Econometric model for the evolution of the Romanian Interbank Bid Rate (ROBID) in the context of the international financial crisis
No full textThe paper presents the econometric modeling of overnight inter-banking interest rates (ROBID) in our country, the analyzed period is between 1999-2010. The international financial crises had a great impact on the level of inter-banking interest rates after 2007 and it reflects the new level of risk for the Romanian system banking. The econometric model used in modeling the interest rates is an autoregressive moving average (ARMA) model, the ARMA model is typically applied to time series data; the paper propose several ARMA models, applies econometric tests and based on them the analyzed series (the inter-banking interest rates) forecast will be made.ROBID, ARIMA model, financial crisis, forecast.

The Impact of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Quality of Life in Elderly Heart Failure Patients-Literature Review
No full textThe research investigates how cardiac rehabilitation impacts life quality in elderly heart failure patients. Older patients often encounter distinctive issues, such as other health conditions and age-linked frailty, affecting their ability to join and gain from rehab programs. This study examines customized rehab plans to meet these needs, which entail using both traditional and new methods like telerehabilitation and activities such as Tai Chi and yoga. Results show that specific rehab programs notably improve functional ability and cut hospital stays for elderly heart failure patients. Also, home-based rehab plans, like the REACH-HF program, appear cost-effective, boosting life quality and reducing health problems. Telerehabilitation has shown to expand access to rehab services, especially aiding elderly patients who struggle to attend on-site programs. This study also asseses the improvement in quality of life, namely the physical and psychological health, such as the augmentation/improvement of patients’ exercise tolerance, participation in social activities or even the increased desire of taking care of themselves. The research highlights the significance of including risk understanding, precise nursing activities, and diverse physical exercises to enhance involvement and commitment, improving results and patient happiness. These findings support the ongoing creation and execution of patient-focused cardiac rehab strategies to better the overall health and well-being of elderly heart failure patients
On the Gender of Books: Author Gender Mixing in Book Communities
No full textUsing a book co-buying network from amazon.com of over 1 million books, we find empirically that readers who have purchased male first authors before are substantially less likely than expected to buy books by female first authors, when aggregated across the entire book market. Conversely, past buyers of female authors are slightly more likely than expected to buy other female authors. This same-gender assortativity is found to be local: certain writing genres are ``coloured'' preferentially by one gender. This can be attributed both to writer availability (i.e., a gender's preferential attachment to writing for one genre), and to the buyers' preferential attachment to the output of writers of one gender. We obtain these insights by classifying the gender of the first author for most of the books, then running statistical tests which compare the gender makeup of books co-bought with either male or female books. Structural book communities, as generated from readers' co-buying choices, are computed, visualised in terms of gender makeup, and their writing genres are summarised to match the genre with a gender makeup
A Survey on Potential of the Support Vector Machines in Solving Classification and Regression Problems
No full textKernel methods and support vector machines have become the most popular learning from examples paradigms. Several areas of application research make use of SVM approaches as for instance hand written character recognition, text categorization, face detection, pharmaceutical data analysis and drug design. Also, adapted SVM’s have been proposed for time series forecasting and in computational neuroscience as a tool for detection of symmetry when eye movement is connected with attention and visual perception.
