The use of trenchless technologies is a relatively unexplored field of study in Slovenija, while their use is a common practice in many other countries. The thesis offers an insight into the possibilities for the use of trenchless technologies in the field of installation and rehabilitation of water mains in Slovenija. The focus in the first part of the thesis is mainly on the slovenian and dutch policy in the field of water supply and trenchless technologies. Also, we briefly discussed the technical information about slovenian and dutch water supply in order to better understand the reasons for their similarities and the differences. In the second part of the thesis the classification of the technologies for trenchless water pipe installation had been made as an alternative to the traditional open – trench installation. In addition, an overview of the technologies for the rehabilitation of water mains had been made. With the term rehabilitation we included cleaning, repairs, renewal and replacement of the water mains. The comparison between the rehabilitation technologies had been discussed as well. Third part of the thesis presents flowcharts for decision–making about the suitable technology for the rehabilitation of water mains. In the end we tested the use of flowcharts in four different water main locations

Influence of wind-wave parameterisation on bed shear stress

Resuspending of the sediment particles from the bottom is a process generated by different causes. One of them are waves, which can be generated by wind, tectonic activity, moon and sun attraction, different moving objects in the sea and other causes. In this work we discussed the effect of wind generated waves on the bottom shear stress (the tension created at the contact of the sediment and the moving water). To calculate the shear stress wave heights and wave periods are needed throughout the surface and in every time step. These parameters can be obtained with observations, measurements or with the help of mathematical models. Simplified wave height and period equations (Bretschneider, 1952) are already a part of the sedimentation module of the PCFLOW3D model; however, the results obtained are questionable. In order to find a better method we made a short review of seven different\ud empirical methods for calculation of the significant wave height and period. Using the MS Excel we tested these methods on different input data (wind speed, fetch length and water depth) and compared the results with each other and with the Darbyshire and Draper nomograms (Koutitas, 1988). The results obtained by all tested methods are approximately for one third lower than the results obtained\ud using Bretschneider’s method. Therefore the equations in the PCFLOW3D model need to be replaced. As the results of the tested methods do not differ significantly, additional research is needed: a comparison with the results of the third generation wave model (SWAN) and with measurements at\ud the buoy Vida operated by the National institute of biology

Misplaced Women? is an ongoing interdisciplinary art project (2009-2017) by Tanja Ostojić that has been conceived as both an internet—platform and a real platform organized in public spaces in the cities across the globe to discuss the issues of migration, displacement, security, privacy, and exposure. It is manifested in a series of performances by the author herself, as well as delegated performances, individual or group performances predominantly by women, and performance workshops conducted by Tanja Ostojić herself. Essentially, the performance score might include unpacking, rummaging and detailed searching of the entire content, pockets, purses, wallets, personal suitcases and bags on sites that are relevant to migration, such as airports, train stations, Western Union Money Transfer services, police stations for foreigners who want to obtain residence permits, etc. Participants performing at authentic locations might repeat similar actions that build upon the basic proposal of the Misplaced Women? concept, i.e. they deal with positions andexperiences of people in transit, migration, and exile.Misplaced Women? is an ongoing interdisciplinary art project (2009-2017) by Tanja Ostojić that has been conceived as both an internet—platform and a real platform organized in public spaces in the cities across the globe to discuss the issues of migration, displacement, security, privacy, and exposure. Review of Tanja Staehler, _Hegel, Husserl and the Phenomenology of Historical Worlds_

    No full text
Hegel, Husserl and the Phenomenology of Historical Worlds by Tanja Staehler is an effort of integration between the phenomenological thinking of two of the most influential philosophers in the contemporary tradition: G.W.F. Hegel and Edmund Husserl. The author main intention is the radicalisation of Hegel's phenomenology by the overcoming of a prescribed teleology with a more open and horizonally constituted historical development
