Recognition of God's love and care is not enough through fellowship but also through disasters in life, one of which is crop failure. This research aims to discover and understand the form of God's providence through crop failure disasters based on God's will, which is present in human life. Several theories used by the author include disaster theory, Kosuke Koyama's theology, and theories about God, which several authors have summarized. The research method used by the author is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Qualitative was developed through a literature study sourced from relevant book literature, articles and internet sources. To complete this article, the author used an analysis method in the form of interviews. The research results from this article show that the disaster of crop failure did not occur because of God's hatred but rather as a form of care so that humanity turns to Him and lives in a movement of ecumenical love for others. Based on Kosuke Koyama's theory, it can be concluded that God's intention for the crop failure disaster that occurred in the Sa'dan Tiroallo area was as a form of invitation so that humans have concern in terms of love for their neighbours, as well as a form of warning so that people can spend time communing with God and to repent and turn to God.Pengenalan terhadap kasih dan pemeliharaan Allah tidak cukup dengan persekutuan, tetapi juga lewat bencana dalam hidup, salah satunya lewat gagal panen.

To determine the antitumor action by intravesical instillation prior to transurethral resection TUR, a randomized study on pirarubicin (THP) versus adriamycin (ADM) was performed for superficial, papillary and initially detected bladder cancers with participation of 21 Urological Clinics in 3 Tokai Prefectures. The instillation dose of 500 micrograms/ml was given 3 times per week for 3 weeks in both THP (n = 33) and ADM (n = 30) groups. The complete and partial response rates were 56.3% in THP group and 26.7% in ADM group. THP instillation was more effective against multiple tumors than a single tumor, stage Ta than T1 and grade G1 than G2 and G3. However, these findings were not statistically significant. Untoward effects were mainly bladder irritability and its frequency was 60.6% in the THP group and 23.3% in the ADM group. Contracted bladder was found in 2 of the 33 patients in the THP group and 2 of the 30 patients in the ADM group. The antitumor effect of a half dose of THP was equivalent to that of one dose of ADM, and the THP group showed a twofold higher frequency of side effects. Therefore, a clinical trial should be made comparing the effect of 500 micrograms/ml of THP and that of 1, 000 micrograms/ml of ADM

Relationship between Details in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing Dysfunction and Clinical Outcomes

Severe dysphagia causes aspiration pneumonia, oral intake discontinuation, and even death. To select appropriate interventions, the impaired function must be identified. Endoscopic evaluation has been popular to evaluate dysphagia, and various evaluation methods have been developed. The Hyodo score is widely used in Japan and subdivides the swallowing function into four categories, making it possible to identify impaired functions in detail. Few studies have analyzed the relationship between the severity of dysphagia assessed by the Hyodo score and clinical outcomes, such as aspiration pneumonia, oral intake, and mortality. We conducted a retrospective study of 66 hospitalized patients for dysphagia or aspiration pneumonia and evaluated all four items of the Hyodo score. Patients' information, the severity of dysphagia, onset of aspiration pneumonia, nutritional status, and final outcomes were collected and analyzed. Patients with clinical outcomes, such as aspiration pneumonia, oral intake, and mortality were found to have more severe dysfunction in subdivided items of Hyodo score, such as saliva pooling in the pharynx, glottic closure reflex, swallowing reflex, and pharyngeal clearance. Furthermore, differences in Body Mass Index and comorbidity rates of diabetes and malignant tumors outside of head and neck region were found depending on whether these clinical outcomes occurred. Our study reveals that differences in the severity of dysphagia assessed by the Hyodo score influence clinical outcomes, such as the onset of aspiration pneumonia, oral intake discontinuation, and mortality rate. In the future, prospective clinical studies are required to include larger number of cases and for more accurate analysis

    Preseismic ionospheric electron enhancements revisited

[1] Possible enhancement of ionospheric Total Electron Content (TEC) immediately before the 2011 Tohoku-oki earthquake (Mw9.0) has been reported by Heki (2011). Critical responses to it often come in two stages; they first doubt the enhancement itself and attribute it to an artifact. Second (when they accept the enhancement), they doubt the significance of the enhancement among natural variability of space weather origin. For example, Kamogawa and Kakinami (2013) attributed the enhancement to an artifact falsely detected by the combined effect of the highly variable TEC under active geomagnetic condition and the occurrence of a tsunamigenic ionospheric hole. Here we closely examine the time series of vertical TEC before and after the 2011 Tohoku-oki earthquake. We first demonstrate that the tsunami did not make an ionospheric hole, and next confirm the reality of the enhancement using data of two other sensors, ionosonde and magnetometers. The amplitude of the preseismic TEC enhancement is within the natural variability, and its snapshot resembles to large-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances. However, distinction could be made by examining their propagation properties. Similar TEC anomalies occurred before all the M ≥ 8.5 earthquakes in this century, suggesting their seismic origin

Legislation in the Later Roman Empire: the Laws on the Patrocinium Vicorum and Colonatus

According to traditional understanding of Roman History, the Later Roman Empire was a despotic state ruled in an arbitrary manner by autocratic emperors. This image of the Empire, however, has been criticized on various points. In this paper, examining the formation of laws on the peasants' flight, the author compares this traditional image of the Later Roman Empire with reality, using the laws on the Patrocinium vicorum and Colonatus as his main source. Analysis by the author demonstrates that the laws on the Patrocinium vicorum were designed not only for the financial advantage of the empire, but also in consideration of the interests of peasants in a variety of contexts. The laws on the Colonatus, on the other hand, had minimal financial content. In the process of formulating these laws, the interests of everyone, including the emperors, landowners, and farmers, appear to have been taken into consideration. Scholars have long searched for a single legislative principle during the Later Roman Empire, but the author of this paper argues that there is no single principle with relation to legislation on the Patrocinium vicorum or Colanatus. The emperors and officers did not in fact monopolize the legislative process, instead we find the interests of the ruled classes, and their initiatives, reflected in the laws. Therefore the author emphasizes that the Later Roman Empire was in fact a pluralistic state in which the interests of many strata of society were represented

The Diversity of Belt Plaques in the Eastern Eurasian Steppes

It is well-known that examples of similar material culture, like the so-called “Scythian Triad, ”penetrated throughout the Eurasian Steppes in the 1st millennium B. C. Although some researchers once thought this similarity was the result of production by a single ethnic group, recent excavations in various areas have revealed that tumuli and other artifacts differ depending on their location, and this makes the assumption of a single group of people being responsible for these similarities in material culture untenable. The development of material culture on the steppes can only be understood today through a detailed study of mutual relations and influences among different areas. Adopting such a viewpoint, the author has focused on belt ornaments while studying mutual influences and intermigrations among areas in the eastern half of the Eurasian Steppes. This paper focuses on belt relief plaques, which are found in several locations in the eastern part of the region, and which have been recognized as prime objects for the study of interregional relations. Nevertheless, previous studies focused on relief plaques from the Great Wall Region and their diffusion to other areas, and few have taken a broader view and studied relief plaques from several different areas to compare regional variations and to analyze relief plaques from across the entire eastern half of the Eurasian Steppes. This paper thus collects relief plaques from such areas as Tuva, Mountainous Altai, Upper Obi, the Minusinsk Basin, and the Great Wall Region and compares them in light of three points : planar forms and decorations, material composition and production techniques, and method of assembly. The result indicates that every area differed from every other in all the points noted above. In addition, the fighting-animal motif, which shares a similar composition and was widely spread, showed direct influence between areas only in rare cases, and each area displayed its own unique quality. This indicates that when relief plaques were defused, each area did not simply accept another's influence but also maintained its own originality

Nasal Bleeding from a Ruptured Aneurysm of the Internal Carotid Artery Treated with Endovascular Coil Embolization

Nasal bleeding can be generally controlled with only intranasal treatment. However, bleeding from large vessels, such as maxillary and internal carotid arteries, is difficult to control only by intranasal treatment, and endovascular treatment is required. Especially nasal bleeding from a ruptured internal carotid artery aneurysm is extremely rare and requires urgent treatment. The patient visited our hospital for sudden nasal bleeding, but the bleeding spontaneously stopped when the patient was first seen. When the blood clot in the natural ostium of the left sphenoid sinus was inhaled at an outpatient situation, massive pulsatile bleeding occurred and continued. The venous route was secured, extracellular fluid was rapidly administered, and tracheal intubation was performed. With computed tomography and angiography examination, the patient was diagnosed with nasal hemorrhage secondary to a ruptured aneurysm in the left internal carotid artery, and the bleeding was controlled by placing endovascular stents and coil in the left internal carotid artery. From the experience of this case, if nasal bleeding occurs around the sphenoidal sinus ostium, clinicians should consider the possibility of nasal bleeding from a ruptured aneurysm of the internal carotid artery and the appropriate treatment should be managed after detailed examinations
