PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA PADA MATA KOMPUTER PEMROGRAMAN MELALUI PEMANFAATAN RECORDING MACRO
ABSTRACT
The learning process of computer programming course requires the skills of programming flow arrangement
and programming logic. The reading materials, exercises, and classroom discussion have not met the learning
goals of this course. Therefore, an additional media needs to be implemented to improve the learning process. The
program of macro recording in Microsoft Office can facilitate the students to have exercises and material analysis
autonomously beyond the classroom activities.
This study belongs to action research. The participants were the sixth semester students of Civil Engineering
and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University, who joined computer programming course for
4 months. This research employed two cycles, which was started by planning, implementation & observation and
finally, reflection.
The result of the research showed that there was an improvement of the learning achievement from 2.8 into
3.29 for computer programming course by utilizing macro recording facility of Microsoft product.

PENERAPAN MODUL PEMBELAJARAN BAHAN TEKNIK SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN PROSES PEMBELAJARAN DI JURUSAN PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK MESIN FT UNY
Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan modul pada pembelajaran Bahan Teknik Dasar. Penelitian ini didasari pada pengamatan selama proses pembelajaran bahan teknik selama ini. Pada proses pembelajaran bahan teknik mahasiswa masih kesulitan dalam memahami buku referensi sehingga pemahaman terhadap materi yang masih relatif rendah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji penerapan modul Bahan Teknik Dasar yang dapat diterima mahasiswa sebagai media belajar dalam upaya peningkatan proses pembelajaran di Jurusan Pendidikan TeknikMesin FT UNY. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan penelitian research and development (R and D). Tempat penelitian di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Waktu penelitian dimulai dari bulan September sampai dengan November 2009. Yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian adalah dosen pengampu Bahan Teknik Dasar dan mahasiswa angkatan 2009 Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Mesin. Langkah-langkah penelitian yang dilaksanakan sesuai dengan penelitian research and development. Pengumpulan data dengan instrumen angket dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Penulisan Modul Bahan Teknik Dasar dikembangkan dari kurikulum dan silabi mata kuliah Bahan Teknik Dasar yang memiliki strkutur terdiri dari halaman sampul, Pengantar , Judul pokok bahasan, Standar kompetensi, Kompetensi dasar, Tujuan pembelajaran, Kegiatan belajar, Kunci jawaban, Daftar pustaka. Penulisan modul bahan teknik dasar merupakan proses penyusunan materi pembelajaran yang dikemas secara sistematis sehingga siap dipelajari oleh peserta didik untuk mencapai kompetensi atau sub kompetensi. Tahapan penulisan modul bahan teknik dasar melputi Analisis Kebutuhan Modul, Penyusunan draft, Uji coba, Validasi, Revisi dan Produksi. Modul Bahan Teknik Dasar yang dibuat memiliki keterimaan oleh Dosen Pengampu dan Mahasiswa dalam kategori baik. Terdapat perbedaan pencapaian presatasi belajar Bahan Teknik Dasar antara kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi modul dengan kelompok mahasiswa yang tidak diberi modul. RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PENGADUK ADONAN BAHAN DODOL BATANG DAN BUAH PEPAYA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KAPASITAS PRODUKSI INDUSTRI KECIL DI PEDESAAN
This community service activity of appropriate technology based leading program aims to support solving the problem faced by small home industries KUB "DHARMA MAKMUR" in the stirring process of homogenizing delicacy dough substance of papaya stem and fruit. This stirring process is the beginning activity of the production process of the papaya stem and fruit delicacy. To solve the problem faced by the working partner, this appropriate technology based community service program focuses on the stirring machine construction followed by the training activity using the methods of: (1) designing the machine compromised to the working partner needs, (2) lecture of machine working principles, (2) demonstration of the machine operation training, (3) field practice to equip the skills for the members of the home industry of KUB "DHARMA MAKMUR". The product of this community service activity is the realization of a mixing machine unit to stir delicacy dough of papaya stem and fruit having the specifications of: (1) dimension of length x width x height=60x50x80 cm, and (2) electric motor of 0,5 HP. The machine operation technique and safety are conducted by turning the machine on until the normal speed of the stirring plate rotation and adjusting the stirring plate rotation speed considering the delicacy dough being mixed. The productivity of the machine produced by this appropriate technology based community service leading program can be eight to ten times quicker compared to working with manual equipments
Kemampuan Mahasiswa dalam Memilih Material pada Pembuatan Karya Teknologi
The objectivesof this study were to analyze the approaches applied by the studentstodetermine the type of materials, to examine the type of materials widely used by the students, and to assess the students' accuracy in determining the type of materialsto produce technological works. This study was categorised into ex post facto study conducted at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, YSU. The samples were 139 students with39 units of machines. The data was obtained using documentation by examining the reports and the surveysof the developed technological works. The data was analysed descriptively. The results showed the students havethe ability to consider the criteria of materials selection based on materials science, including strength, usage, fabrication, availability and prices. The type of materials widely used is metal as follows: carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, stainlesssteel, aluminum and copper. The carbon steel is the most widely used material utilized by 62% of the students.There was36%of the components developed usinginaaccurately selected materials.
ANALYSIS OF ELECTRONIC MATERIAL USE OF BASIC MATERIALS, IN EMS STEEL EDM PROCESS 45 REVIEWED FROM THE ASPECTS OF ELECTRODES OF MASS REDUCTION AND SURFACE DAMAGE
The aim pf this research is to analyze characteristic of Cu-based material that has been used as electrode in EDM process. The research variables are wearness off electrode, weightloss and roughness of specimens of EMS 45 steel.Experimental methode was used in this research, which consists of preparation process and EDM test, EDM process, characterization and testingprocess. Analysis was done based on characterization and testing process. Testing process comprises electrode wearness, weightloss and roughness of the specimen.The result show that wearness of brass electrode is higher than bronze electrode. However, bronze electrode gives rapid weight loss. At current of 45 A and pulse on time 3 s, weight loss of EMS 45 steel was1,8 timefaster using bronze electrode, but wearness of brass electrode was 18,67 times faster. Surface roughness of EMS 45 steel was smoother using bronze electrode. Weight loss of EMS 45 steel and electrode wearness affected by current andpulse on time. Nevertheles, surface roughness of EMS 45 influenced by current, but not bypulse on time
PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN SEMI RISET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MAHASISWA TENTANG SIFAT-SIFAT BAHAN TEKNIK PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHAN TEKNIK DASAR
ABSTRACT
The purposes of the research are to review the application strategies of semi-research learning on the students’ understanding of the characteristics of engineering materials and to reveal the role of the students. Also, to determine whether there was any significant difference on the students’ understanding whowere taught by using semi-research learning compared to the conventional one. The research method was quasi-experimental model with parallel or equivalent group, the experimental group and the control group. Each group got pretest before and posttest after the treatment. The study was conducted in Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University from September till November 2012 among 160 students of the first semester in academic year of 2012-2013. This study was using cluster sampling method by taking one class as control group and one class for experimental group. Data analysis techniques were using descriptive analysis and T-Test. Semi-research learning for the understanding on the characteristics of engineering materials can be conducted through the students’ research assignment. The students were given chance to review based on the literature and to prove through their autonomous research. After they completed their research process, they were asked to have presentation while the lecturer role as the facilitator. Most of the students were glad with this strategy because it made them as active learner to search, explore, prove and utilize their review. This learning model demanded the students to be active, independent, serious, and able to work together, to solve problems based on facts as well as scientific evidence. Also, there was significant difference on the students’ understanding of the characteristics of engineering materials, who were taught by using semi-research compared to the conventional method with the score of mean difference of 10 from 0-70 scale. Similarly, there was a difference from the mean improvement of 10 points.

Pengembangan Modul Pengecoran Logam Aluminium untuk Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan
The purpose of this research is to develop aluminium casting module and to know the result of its feasibility test. In the development of this module using Research and Development method and feasibility test data obtained using questionnaire and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis in the form of scores (numbers) converted into percentages and categorized according to the scoring scale used. The aluminium casting module is produced by stages: requirements analysis, product creation, validation, product revision, product test, and product trial test analysis. The results of the feasibility test of aluminium casting module according to the material expert obtained a percentage of 76% included in the category very well. According to the media expert, aluminum casting module obtained 83% percentage included in the category very well. According to the teachers, the percentage of 87% and 88% are in the very good category, and the product test result or the student's response test to the aluminium casting module ern a percentage of 78% and 75% is included in the excellent category.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan modul pengecoran aluminium dan mengetahui hasil uji kelayakannya. Pada Pengembangan modul ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dan data uji kelayakan yang diperoleh menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk skor persentase dan dikategorikan sesuai dengan skala penilaian yang digunakan. Modul pengecoran logam aluminium dihasilkan dengan tahap-tahap: analisis kebutuhan, pembuatan produk, validasi, revisi produk, uji coba produk , dan analisi hasil uji coba produk. Hasil uji kelayakan modul pengecoran logam aluminium menurut ahli materi memperoleh persentase sebesar 76% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Menurut ahli media modul pengecoran aluminium memperoleh persentase 83% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Menurut guru pengampu memperoleh persentase sebesar 87% dan 88 % termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, dan hasil uji coba produk atau uji respon siswa terhadap modul pengecoran aluminium memperoleh persentase sebesar 78% dan 75 % termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik</jats:p

Design of tooth profile for the big gear enough usually unlike small gear. Process of tooth making is different. One of the method able to be applied in big design gear by using coordinate system. Intention of design of diametrical tooth profile with the coordinate systems is to fulfill the big gear ordering requirement. This method is very benefit to all designer in industry because can be easier in big tooth profile making, so that can fulfill the customer needs. Diffusion Bonding Material Tungsten-Baja dengan Interlayer Ag-4% Cu
The objective of this research is to study the implementation diffusion bonding process on tungsten and low carbon steel system with interlayer Ag-4% Cu, as well as investigate the influence of process parameters such as temperatur, initial pressure and heating time to the shear strength of the joint. Based on the result of shear test, initial pressure 48-144MPa has positive effect to the shear strength. Likewise by improving temperature of heating, it will improve the shear strength. The optimal shear strength is obtained at the temperature 9500C with maximal shear strength is 165 MPa and its bonding ratio 85%. The temperature 9500C and pressure of 144 MPa diffusion bonding has been successfully done with the heating time of 15 minute.Optical and stereomicroscopy on fracture surface after shear testing of the samples reveal tran granular fracture occur at the interlayer. Microstructure analysis at the interlayer reveals in variation microstructure as function of temperature, initial pressure, and heating time. The thickness of interlayer decrease with increasing the temperature, initial pressure and heating time. Other wise, the thickness of grain boundary and second phase area increase with the increasing the temperature, initial pressure and heating time. Based on the SEM/EDS examination, the element of Fe has the dominant distribution. There is accumulation of the element Fe on the limit area with tungsten. The distribution of the element of W, Ag and Fe increase with the increasing the heating time. Diffusivity of some atoms has been calculated based on SEM data at the interlayer. At 9500C, the diffusivity among the element of atom namely are D Ag to Fe= 0,00195 m2s-1, D Fe to Ag=0,02364 m2s-1, DAg to W=0,0061 m2s-1 , and DW to Ag= 0,025034 m2s-1.Keywords: Diffusion Bonding, material, Tungsten, steel, interlayer
