Alsbury drew Jackson at this time and owes him 1000 dollars; Ahbury doesn't have the money, and offers to give Jackson land in payment of this debt. Alsbury asks Houston to intercede in matter, since he is a citizen of Texas. 3 pp

Meet Sam Thomas, author or the Midwife\u27s Tale: A Mystery
It\u27s 1644, and Parliament\u27s armies have risen against the King and laid siege to the city of York. Even as the city suffers at the rebels\u27 hands, midwife Bridget Hodgson becomes embroiled in a different sort of rebellion. One of Bridget\u27s friends, Esther Cooper, has been convicted of murdering her husband. Convinced that her friend is innocent, Bridget sets out to find the real killer.
About the author: Sam Thomas teaches history at University School, an independent day school outside Cleveland, Ohio. Before coming to United States he taught at the college level for seven years, and received research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Newberry Library, and the British Academy. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and book signing.

Cooley II, Director of the Alien Enemy Control Unit of the Department of Justice to Hayao (Sam) Chuman and Toshiko Chuman (nee Nakamura) acknowledging the receipt of a letter from them.The Chuman (Hayao "Sam" and Toshiko) Papers documents the World War II experiences of Hayao "Sam" and Toshiko Chuman, who were Kibei Nisei born in the United States but grew up and completed school in Japan, and then returned to the U.S. prior to the war. It chronicles the Chuman's incarceration from the Santa Anita Assembly Center, through Jerome, Rohwer, Tule Lake camps, and the Santa Fe and Crystal City internment camps as well as their struggle for restoring their U.S. citizenships in the 1960s. The digital collection consists of mostly textual material, including correspondence, affidavits, incarceration camp records, lease agreements, financial documents, receipts, pamphlets, and booklets
