    This is a scrapbook of photographs created by Thomas L. Bernard. Twenty pages of the scrapbook contains photographs. The photographs are of people and events that occurred at Springfield College or activities associated with Springfield College. A fair amount appear to center around his time as Executive Director of the YMCA Studies program at Springfield College. This would have been the early to mid-1980s. Most of the pictures have Thomas Bernard in them. Of particular note are pictures from the visit of Jiang Nanxiang, the Chinese Minister of Education, on June 13, 1980.Thomas L. Bernard held many roles at Springfield college between when he first arrived in 1974 till he retired in 1999. He was a professor of education and psychology at Springfield College, the head of the Division of Community Education for eight years, Executive Director of the YMCA Studies during which he created the YMCA Hall of Fame, and the Director of the Graduate Education Programs for 22 years.The original Scrapbook is not within the collection.     This is a scrapbook of photographs created by Thomas L. Bernard. Twenty pages of the scrapbook contains photographs. The photographs are of people and events that occurred at Springfield College or activities associated with Springfield College. Specifically they appear to center around his time as Executive Director of the YMCA Studies program at Springfield College. This would have been the mid-1980s. There are a couple of pictures from the first couple YMCA Hall of Fame inductees, including Paul Limbert who was inducted in 1985 during the first Induction for the hall. There are also many group photographs. Of particular note is a picture with Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis.Thomas L.
