No full textThe Boardwalk Arcade Building was built in Atlantic City's roaring heyday before the Great Depression. The bustling Boardwalk National Bank had outgrown its space in a local hotel and decided to build a new headquarters at Tennessee
Avenue and the Boardwalk. It was a time when the boardwalk was a major vacation and entertainment hub � the place to see and be seen.
The two-story high, barrel-vaulted arch at the boardwalk entrance defined the building. When it opened in April 1927 there were 103 stores and offices in the building.
At one time, it served at the headquarters for the Miss America Pageant .

The arcade of Struthers: an anatomical study and clinical implications
No full textABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency and features of the arcade of Struthers, and to assess its clinical implication in ulnar nerve compression. METHOD: Forty arms from 26 cadaver specimens were dissected in the Anatomy Laboratory of this institution. The extension of the arcade, distance from the medial epicondyle, and relation with ulnar nerve were recorded. RESULTS: The arcade of Struthers was identified in 40 dissected arms (100%). In 29 (72.5%) the ulnar nerve was covered by a muscular arcade, in nine (22.5%) by an aponeurotic arcade, and in two (5%) the arcade was beneath the ulnar nerve. The extension of the arcade ranged from 3.0 to 7.5 cm, and the distance from the medial epicondyle ranged from 2.5 to 7.0 cm. CONCLUSION: The arcade of Struthers is a musculoaponeurotic canal that represents an important site of entrapment or compression of the ulnar nerve. The arcade, the intermuscular septum, and the internal brachial ligament should be released in patients submitted to ulnar nerve anterior transposition surgery

No full textItem does not contain fulltextBACKGROUND: The arcade of Struthers has been described as possible cause of compression of the ulnar nerve but several authors and our own experience have doubt cast on its existence. We, therefore, performed an anatomical study to determine whether or not the arcade of Struthers exists.
METHODS: Ten arms from fresh frozen cadavers were dissected. Special attention was given to the fascial layers of the medial aspect of the upper arm and the medial intermuscular septum and their relation ships to the ulnar nerve. FINDINGS: An arcade of Struthers was not found in any specimen.
INTERPRETATION: The arcade of Struthers does not exist and is not an anatomical structure, but a man-made construct
