No full textAbstrak Pada penelitian sebelumnya telah ditunjukkan data satelit Lapan- A3 (ORARI) Satellite (LOSAT) cukup bermanfaat bagi beberapa aplikasi penting terkait dengan ketahanan pangan. Dengan rencana pembangunan Lapan-IPB Satellite (LISAT), kondisi ini dapat ditingkatkan untuk beberapa aplikasi tertentu terutama yang terkait dengan kanal biru. Untuk mengoptimalkan perolehan informasi dari data LISAT, eksplorasi metode analisis perlu dikaji dan dikembangkan pada berbagai lokasi. Penelitian pendahuluan mengetengahkan indikasi bahwa metode pohon keputusan, terutama QUEST, sangat bermanfaat dalam beberapa aplikasi yang diuji. Namun demikian, analisis pendahuluan menyajikan indikasi bahwa parameter algoritma QUEST masih dapat dioptimalkan. Penelitian ini menyajikan informasi dgsar pengaturan parameter utama yang penting dalam algoritma QUEST, utamanya dalam pemantauan padi. Abstract In the previous research, Lapan-A3 (ORARI) Satellite (LOSAT) showed its potentials to support food security related research and implementations. Lapan- IPB Satellite (LISA T) is under pre-design stage, planned to include blue channel as required by several applications. To optimize information extracted from LISA T, methods should be explored and enlarged into various locations and conditions. Initial study indicated decision tree methods, particularly QUEST algorithm, delivered some advantages for some applications. However, preliminary result suggested that QUESTparameters could be enhanced. No full textAbstract: Scrapbook primarily covering the club's activities and meetings from 1926 to 1947, although there are a few items from the 1980s tucked inside.Scope and Content Note: The collection contains a scrapbook of the Quest Club of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, covering the early part of the twentieth century. It includes yearbooks, newspaper clippings about club activities, and photographs of officers, new members, and places. Much of the scrapbook is very artistic in that many of the entries are embellished with calligraphy and hand drawn borders. Even the last few yearbook covers are beautiful watercolor paintings. One item worth noting is the award the club received from the United States Treasury Department in 1945 for raising money for the 6th War Loan campaign. According to a note under the award, the Quest Club was responsible for the sale of over 60,000. One of the final entries in the book is a tribute to Nelson B. Jones, son of Walter B. and Hazel Jones of Tuscaloosa, who was killed in action in Germany in April 1945. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Quest Club.Biographical/Historical Note: The Quest Club of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was organized in 1926 with the stated object being "intellectual development and broader culture" (from the 1926-1927 yearbook). They were members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs from 1928 to 1972. The group continued to meet through at least the late 1980s. Information in the scrapbook indicates that in the 1987-1988 yearbook (not included in this scrapbook) there were only 18 members

No full textElämisentaitoja – Lions Quest on vahvuuksiin ja vuorovaikutustaitoihin perustuva kansainvälinen koulutustuote.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, kuinka tunnettu Lions Quest -koulutustuote on koulutuksista vastaavien sekä opettajien ja muiden kasvattajien keskuudessa. Case-koulutusta koskeva tietopohja koostettiin tutkijan jo olemassa olevasta tiedosta ja omakohtaisesta kokemuksesta. Kohderyhmänä tälle koulutustuotteelle on 5–25-vuotiaiden parissa toimivat opettajat ja kasvattajat sekä valmentajat ja ohjaajat.
Ensimmäisessä osiossa viitekehys rakennetaan brändin ympärille sivuamalla lyhyesti historiakatsausta ja määritelmää. Toisessa osiossa tutkitaan brändin rakentamista ja brändin rakentamisen esteitä. Kolmannessa osiossa oli tavoitteena selvittää brändin tunnettuutta ja brändin luomiseen liittyvät tunnettuuden tasot sekä mahdolliset keinot tunnettuuden parantamiseen.
Tutkimusmenetelminä käytettiin kyselyitä, keskusteluita sekä haastatteluita palautteineen eli menetelmätriangulaatiota hyödyntäen. Palautteiden kautta jäi positiivinen mielikuva tuotteesta. Tutkimuksessa selvisi brändin markkinoinnin ja näkyvyyden merkitys sekä se, että brändi-imagon parantamiseksi keinoja ovat muun muassa koulutus, sisäisen tiedottamisen parantaminen ja positiivinen asenne.
Kehittämisehdotukset ja pohdinnat sekä tutkimustulokset osoittivat, että Elämisentaitoja – Lions Quest -koulutustuotteen tunnettuudessa on parantamisen varaa. Koulutusvastaaville ja rehtoreille kohderyhmä ei ollut selvä.The Lions Quest Life Skills Social and Emotional Learning programme is an international educational product based on strengths and social skills.
The objective of the study was to find out how well the Lions Quest educational product is known by those responsible for education, as well as by teachers and other professionals working with children and youths. The information on the programme was based on the researcher's already existing knowledge and personal experience. Teachers, trainers, instructors and others working with 5–25-year-old children and youths constitute the target group of the educational product in question.
In the first section, the frame of reference is built around brand by briefly dealing with the history and definition of this concept. The second section studies the building of a brand and obstacles to it. In the third section, the objective was to analyse the familiarity of a brand and the levels of the familiarity connected to brand building, as well as possible methods to improve brand awareness.
Inquiries, discussions and interviews and their feedback, or utilising the methodological triangulation, were used as the research methods in the study. Based on the feedback, the image of the case product can be regarded as positive. The study identified the importance of brand marketing and visibility and that the means to improve brand image include training, improvement of internal information, and a positive attitude.
The suggestions for improvement, considerations, and results showed that there are things to be improved in the visibility of the Lions Quest educational product. The target group was not clear to the educational leaders and headmasters

New features

<li>QuEST gained a new backend which integrates <a href="https://developer.nvidia.com/cuquantum-sdk">cuQuantum</a> and <a href="https://developer.nvidia.com/thrust">Thrust</a> for optimised simulation on modern NVIDIA GPUs. This is compiled with cmake argument <code>-DUSE_CUQUANTUM=1</code>, as detailed in the <a href="https://github.com/QuEST-Kit/QuEST/blob/master/examples/README.md#compiling">compile doc</a>. Unlike QuEST's other backends, this <em>does</em> require prior installation of cuQuantum, outlined <a href="https://developer.nvidia.com/cuQuantum-downloads">here</a>. This deployment mode should run much faster than QuEST's custom GPU backend, and will soon enable multi-GPU simulation. The entirety of QuEST's API is supported! :tada:</li>

<li>QuEST's distributed communication has been optimised when exchanging states via many maximum-size messages, thanks to the work of <a href="https://github.com/jjacobx">Jakub Adamski</a> as per <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2308.07402">this manuscript</a>.</li>
<li>Functions like <code>multiQubitUnitary()</code> and <code>mixMultiQubitKrausMap()</code> have <em>relaxed</em> the precision of their unitarity and CPTP checks, so they will complain less about user matrices. Now, for example, a unitarity matrix <code>U</code> is deemed valid only if every element of <code>U*dagger(U)</code> has a Euclidean distance of at most <code>REAL_EPS</code> from its expected identity-matrix element. </li>
<li>Unit tests now <em>check</em> that their initial register states are as expected before testing an operator. This ensures that some tests do not <em>accidentally pass</em> when they <em>should</em> be failing (like when run with an incorrectly specified GPU compute capability) due to an unexpected all-zero initial state.</li>
<li>Unit tests now use an improved and numerically stable function for generating random unitaries and Kraus maps, so should trigger fewer precision errors and false test failures.</li>

Big Data and Other Challenges in the Quest for Orthologs.
No full textGiven the rapid increase of species with a sequenced genome, the need to identify orthologous genes between them has emerged as a central bioinformatics task. Many different methods exist for orthology detection, which makes it difficult to decide which one to choose for a particular application. Here, we review the latest developments and issues in the orthology field, and summarise the most recent results reported at the third 'Quest for Orthologs' meeting. We focus on community efforts such as the adoption of reference proteomes, standard file formats, and benchmarking. Progress in these areas is good and they are already beneficial to both orthology consumers and providers. However, a major current issue is that the massive increase in complete proteomes poses computational challenges to many of the ortholog database providers, as most orthology inference algorithms scale at least quadratically with the number of proteomes. The Quest for Orthologs consortium is an open community with a number of working groups that join efforts to enhance various aspects of orthology analysis such as defining standard formats and datasets, documenting community resources, and benchmarking.
