Riesgos del consumo de drogas sintéticas
Full text linkEn los últimos años las llamadas nuevas sustancias psicoactivas han ganado terreno tanto en la comercialización como en la evasión de su detección legal. Esta semana el Lic. Luis Telese reflexiona acerca de un problema clave de estas drogas sintéticas: al prepararse de manera casera, se producen subproductos cuyo efecto es desconocido de antemano, por lo que representan un serio problema para la salud de sus potenciales usuarios.
Esta problemática suele hacerse evidente para el general de la población mediante casos fatales, tan lamentables como evitables, que se evidencian a través de los medios de comunicación. Ante este panorama, el profesor de Toxicología y Química Legal y de Química Aplicada II en la Lic. en Criminalística sostiene la importancia no sólo de la investigación científica en la materia sino también de hacer especial énfasis en la educación en torno a los riesgos implicados en el consumo de drogas sintéticas.

Riflessioni linguistico-storiche sul toponimo ‘Telese’: un exemplum di contatto fra osco, latino e greco
Full text linkThe paper gives an overview of the literary and numismatic attestations of the toponym ‘Telese’ – i.e. Tedis, Telesia (vetus), Τελεσία, Telesis (nova), Thelesia – by citing the fontes. The paper also offers space to the works of local history, which are concerned to the toponym of Telese (with particular attention to Petrucci’s History of Telese).The end of the paper proposes an etymological hypothesis, according to which exists a bond between the three linguistic and toponymic forms – i.e. the Oscan facies, the Latin facies and the Greek facies – through the common derivation from the Indo-European root *tel-2, *telǝ-, *telu-.Il contributo passa in rassegna le diverse attestazioni del toponimo ‘Telese’ – i.e. Tedis, Telesia (vetus), Τελεσία, Telesis (nova), Thelesia –, attraverso la citazione delle fonti letterarie e numismatiche, che ce ne danno testimonianza, lasciando spazio anche alle opere di storia locale, che si siano interessate del toponimo telesino (con particolare attenzione alla Storia di Telese di Petrucci). No full textThe healing properties of Telese sulfurous waters are well-known since ancient times, but only in about the middle nineteenth century a thermal center was built in the town. At the beginning of thermalism decline, also this spa suffered a period of
decadence that still continues today, with various events. In fact, while the Telese spa is among the largest facilities in the region in terms of number of services provided, against this, the presence of tourists in the city is gradually decreasing.
Therefore, in the last decades Telese has lost the connotation of a thermal tourist center and the spa itself is no longer the driving force of the city‘s economy. The objective of the article is to reconstruct the thermal establishment evolution through the available historical and iconographic sources, highlighting the still existing architectural structures of the past, which represent the largest part of the thermal heritage. From their valorization a possible relaunch project could start.Le proprietà curative delle acque telesine sono ben note sin dalle epoche passate, però è solo verso la metà dell’Ottocento che si avviò la costruzione di uno stabilimento termale. Dopo qualche decennio, le terme di Telese riuscirono ad acquisire una certa notorietà anche extra regionale, soprattutto durante gli anni della Belle Époque. Con l’inizio della fase di decadenza del termalismo, anche questa stazione termale ha subito un periodo di declino che, con alterne vicende, persiste
ancora oggi. Difatti l’attuale condizione vede lo stabilimento telesino tra i maggiori impianti della regione per numero di prestazioni erogate, però a fonte di ciò, il numero dei turisti che soggiornano in città sono in progressivo decremento.
Telese pertanto, ha perso in questi ultimi decenni quella connotazione di centro turistico termale e le stesse terme non sono più il centro propulsore dell’economia cittadina. L’obiettivo dell’articolo è quello di ricostruire attraverso le fonti storiche
e iconografiche disponibili, l’evoluzione dello stabilimento balneare, evidenziando le strutture architettoniche del passato ancora superstiti che rappresentano la parte più consistente dell’heritage termale. Un possibile progetto di rilancio potrebbe
partire proprio dalla valorizzazione di queste ultime
The Upwelling Groundwater Flow in the Karst Area of Grassano-Telese Springs (Southern Italy)
No full textThe hydraulic phenomenon of upwelling groundwater flow affecting the karst area of the Grassano-Telese springs (southern Italy) has been investigated through piezometric measurements, discharge, and chemical–physical monitoring of springs, radon activity included. Locally, both large karst springs and sulfurous thermal springs are closely located, and raise several questions on their origin. In this study, the phenomenon of the upwelling flow is supported by different types of evidences: Amazing density of sinkholes connected to hypogenic speleogenesis processes, constancy of temperature, and hydraulic conductivity of spring water, change of radon activity during the hydrological year, increasing of the hydraulic head with depth. Numerical code provides an estimation of the upwelling phenomenon in an unconfined aquifer feeding the karst springs, using MODFLOW tools. Based on the results reached, the phenomenon of the upwelling flow is able to explain the hydrological processes observed in the Telese karst area
Obesity spread in adult and development age: Economic, social and environmental impacts
No full textIn this paper, after analysing the extensive literature on the subject, there were highlighted the socio-economic causes that drive consumers to follow wrong eating patterns. The high rates of overweight and obesity in recent decades cannot simply be explained by genetic predisposition; although it plays a key role in the development of human’s overweight or obesity. Moreover, through the analysis of secondary data, we analysed the spread of obesity and overweight, both in OECD and non-OECD countries, with a focus on the teenage and pre-teen age, in order to understand also the future prospects. In light of the importance that this issue is taking globally, we tried to highlight the most significant economic, social and environmental impacts that can be associated with obesity and overweight. This requires intervention strategies both to policy makers and food industry that should put in place behaviours more oriented towards social responsibility, but also more conscious food consumption from the citizens. The basic intent of this paper is to analyse how a poor state of health, because of unconscious behaviour, can impact on economic, social and environmental development and the individual and collective well-being of the countries. The topic of overweight and obesity, in fact, not only is one of the main concepts of the theoretical and empirical classifications on health, but finds more and more space in the reflection on the concept of sustainable development
