Kusepõie agressiivne angiomüksoom
Enamikul juhtudel rakendatakse makrohematuuria korral konservatiivset ravi, mille järel jääb patsient uroloogi jälgimisele. Harva on vajalik erakorraline kirurgiline sekkumine. Artiklis on kirjeldatud kusepõie harva esineva agressiivse angiomüksoomi juhtu 42aastasel meespatsiendil. Sagedamini naistel esinev kasvaja oli fulminantse kuluga ja kahel korral oli verejooksu peatamiseks vajalik erakorraline kirurgiline sekkumine ning viimasel operatsioonil tuli kusepõis osaliselt resetseerida
Palverändurite usundilised arusaamad Santiago de Compostela ja Glastonbury palverännakust: välitööpõhiseid käsitlusi
Väitekirja elektrooniline versioon ei sisalda publikatsioone.Väitekiri käsitleb tänapäevase Euroopa rahvausundi ja nüüdisaegse palverännaku erinevaid aspekte Põhja-Hispaanias kulgeva Camino de Santiago (püha Jaakobuse tee) ja Edela-Inglismaal asuva Glastonbury näitel. Palverändu vaadeldakse kui jutustatud teekonda, kus juhtuvad imed ja toimuvad kohtumised üleloomulike olenditega: erineva religioosse taustaga palverändurid räägivad endaga juhtunud lugusid, muistendeid ja legende.
Tähelepanu all on ka palverännakul valitsevad võimusuhted ja palverändurite hierarhia. Üks lugude läbivaid teemasid on autentse palveränduri identiteedi konstrueerimine; otsitakse vastust küsimusele, kellel on õigus otsustada selle üle, kes on tõeline palverändur, ning milliste põhjenduste kaudu otsus tehakse. Autori eesmärgiks ei ole mõisteid „palverännak“ ja „palverändur“ defineerida, vaid vaadelda nende tähendusvälja muutumist nii akadeemilises kui ka rahvapärases diskursuses.
Uurimus kajastab ka erinevate uskumissüsteemide, eriti katoliikluse ja New Age’i kokkupõrkeid. Uurija tähelepanu all on inimesed ja nende usundilised praktikad, mitte „religioon“ ja „usk“ kui abstraktsioonid. Uuritakse seda, kuidas religiooni kogetakse ja praktiseeritakse nii üksikisiku kui ka kogukonna tasandil. Käsitletakse ka välitööde metodoloogia probleeme, eriti uurija rolli dialoogilises tööprotsessis. Töö põhiliseks allikaks on välitööd Camino de Santiagol ja Glastonburys.
Väitekirja moodustavad sissejuhatus ja neli artiklit, mis on ilmunud rahvusvahelise levikuga publikatsioonides (Journal of Indian Folkloristics, Journal of Ethnology and Folkloristics) ja kirjastuse Equinox kogumikus Vernacular Religion in Everyday Life. Lisaks väitekirja aluseks olevatele artiklitele on Tiina avaldanud kaks raamatut, kus käsitleb oma välitööde kogemusi: „Peregrina päevik“ ilmus 2007. aastal Loomingu Raamatukogus; selle järjena ilmus 2009. aastal „Kas jääte ööseks? Hospitalera päevik“.This dissertation is based on the author’s extensive fieldwork conducted in two important destinations in the spiritual landscape of European vernacular religion – the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain and Glastonbury in southwest England. One of the aims of this dissertation is to provide insight into the phenomenon of contemporary pilgrimage while reflecting upon fieldwork experiences. One of the recurrent themes is the construction of the image of the ‘authentic’ pilgrim.
The research has been carried out in the broad framework of vernacular religion, i.e. religion as it is experienced and practiced rather than as it is prescribed. By looking at the wide range of belief narratives expressed by pilgrims, Tiina Sepp studies pilgrimage as a narrated journey, including miracles and supernatural encounters. The co-existence of the different belief systems of Christianity and New Age and the conflicts and tension between them are explored.
Throughout her fieldwork Tiina Sepp has observed people’s attitudes towards pilgrimage and their fellow pilgrims. By looking at different, competing narratives about the Camino de Santiago and Glastonbury, she looks into the power relationships that exist on the pilgrimage, describes how hierarchies of pilgrims are created and maintained, and reflects on the meaning of the words pilgrim and pilgrimage. With her markedly self-reflexive methodology, the author attempts to give voice to as many different people as possible: many primary narratives have been reproduced.
The dissertation consists of an introduction and four articles that have been published in the international publications the Journal of Indian Folkloristics and the Journal of Ethnology and Folkloristics, as well as in Vernacular Religion in Everyday Life (a collection of articles published by Equinox). In addition to these four articles, Tiina Sepp has published two books in Estonian that deal with her fieldwork experiences
Is Estonian barley ready to tackle climate change-induced water regimes?

A greenhouse trial was conducted in the Estonian Crop Research Institute (ECRI) in 2021, where five Estonian grown spring barley varieties were grown in optimal, drought and flood treatments for six weeks to measure plants' projected leaf area (PA) and relative growth rate (RGR) through phenotyping. Both drought and flooding stress have a strong negative impact on plant biomass in early vegetative growth phases, causing PA at the end of the trial to decrease 26% and 49% respectively. Meanwhile, RGR throughout the trial decreased 6% in drought treatment and 16% in flood treatment. This indicates the greater impact of flood stress on plant's growth compared to drought stress. Genetic variation related to adaption to extreme water regimes in varieties is rather low, especially in drought stress conditions. In drought treatment, the variation coefficient (CV) was 14%, and in flood treatment 25%. Even as most varieties' PA and RGR varied between treatments, the difference between varieties in specific stress treatments was minimal. Estonian grown spring barley varieties are susceptible to extreme water regime related stress caused by potential climate change. This indicates the importance of assessing water-related stress tolerance in breeding material, adapting more accurate innovative evaluation approaches, and integrating climate-resilient genetic material into breeding programs, to hedge the risk caused by unfavourable growth environments in Estonian barley production
Implementation of Excel Power-BI Based Planning Tool on the Example of Saku Õlletehas AS (Saku Brewery)
Müügiprognoosimine on tarneahelas väga oluline tegevus. Nimelt, planeerimise käigus püütakse eelnenud perioodide müügiajaloo ja turu nõudlust mõjutavate tegurite tundmise pealt planeerida eelseisvate perioodide müüke. Seda tehakse kas kogemuslikult või arvutusmeetodite abil. Nõudluse planeerimise väljund on otsene sisend tootmise planeerimisele ning selletõttu on prognoositäpsus vägagi oluline faktor kogu ettevõtte kasumlikkusele. Lõputöö eesmärk oli analüüsida uue rakendatava tööriista tulemuslikkust - prognoositäpsust. Töö autor leidis vastused kõikidele püstitatud küsimustele. Lõputöö fookusettevõtteks oli Saku Õlletehas AS. Analüüsi tegemiseks rakendas autor uut tööriista paralleelselt kasutusel olnud lahendusega testperioodil. Rakendusobjekti testiti nelja nädala vältel, kasutades selleks iga joogikategooria erinevaid tooteid. Nädalate vältel võrreldi kahte erinevat prognoosimisviisi. Üheks oli juurutamises olev planeerimistööriist ning teiseks aastaid kasutusel olnud protsess. Saadud tulemusi võrreldi ja analüüsiti kategooriate kaupa. Testperioodile lisas raskust samaaegselt ülemaailmselt kestnud COVID19 pandeemia. Lõputöö tulemusena leiti, et autori poolt valitud testmeetod osutus selles suhtes edukaks, et tootmisplaneerimisele ja müükidele valitud viis lisakomplikatsioone ei valmistanud. Küll, aga autori enda päevad olid testperioodil väga kiired, sest kahte täiesti erinevat viisi prognoosimine võtab palju aega. Eriti olukorras, mil valitses turul üleüldine eriolukord ning klientide tavapärane ostumuster oli muutunud.. Juurutatud tööriista prognoositäpsuse tulemus oli piisavalt rahuldav, et pärast testperioodi üle minna täielikult uuele protsessile. Tulemuste vahed olid küllaltki väiksed ning suuremad anomaaliad seletatavad ning edaspidi ära hoitavad. Lisaks, vabastab parendatud protsess suure osa müügiplaneerija ajast, mida saab planeerija kasutada müügiplaanile lisandväärtuse loomiseks. Kokkuvõtteks võib öelda, et uurimustöö täitis oma eesmärgi ning rakendusobjekt sai edukalt juurutatud. Antud töö tulem on kasulik Saku Õlletehasele, sest täpsemad müügiplaanid võimaldavad ettevõttel olla paindlikumad ning läbi selle ka kasumlikumad.The following thesis Implementation of Excel Power-BI based planning tool on the example of Saku Õlletehas AS (Saku Brewery) is written by Henrik Sepp. The length of the work is 34 pages long and includes 28 blueprints and 7 different tables. Sales forecasting plays a substantial role in the supply chain. Namely, during the planning process, enterprises try to plan the sale of forthcoming periods, taking into account the sales history of previous periods and the factors influencing the market demand. This is done either on the basis of experience or by using calculation methods. The output of demand planning is the direct input for production planning and thus is the forecast accuracy an essential factor in terms of the profitability of the enterprise. The aim of this final paper was to analyse the cost-effectiveness of a new tool – its forecast accuracy. The author of the paper found answers to all the questions set at the beginning. The focus enterprise of this final paper was Saku Õlletehas AS (Saku Brewery). To carry out the analysis, the author applied, during the test period, the new tool in parallel with the solution previously in use. The new tool was tested during four weeks with different products of each category of beverages. During those weeks, two different forecast methods were compared. One of them was the planning tool that was being implemented, the other was the process that had previously been in use for many years. The results were compared and analysed by categories. The test period was aggravated by the concurrent global COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of the final paper it was identified that the test method chosen by the author was successful in terms of not causing additional complications to production planning and sales. For the author, the test period was extremely busy and demanding as forecasting with two different methods was very time-consuming. This was further complicated by the overall emergency situation on the market which had changed the usual buying pattern of the customers. The forecast accuracy of the new tested tool was sufficiently satisfactory to be fully implemented after the test period. The differencies in results were relatively small, major irregularities were explainable and would be avoidable in the future. Along with that, the improved process enables the sales officer to save considerable time that can be used to create added value to the sales plan. To sum up – the research achieved its objective and the new tool could be successfully implemented. The results of this final paper are beneficial to the Saku Brewery as more accurate sales plans enable the enterprise to be more flexible and thus also more profitable
Exploring Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology Practitioners’ Attitudes on Attire
Research has revealed that attire has an influence on one’s self-perceptions, self and socially prescribed adjective traits and behavior (Adam & Galinsky, 2012; Lubker et. al, 2008; Peluchette & Karl, 2007). The present study aims to explore the influence of attire on perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of SEPP (Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology) practitioners during their applied work. Specifically, these factors were investigated through various demographic lenses such as gender, experience level, and age in order to describe the population. SEPP graduate students (n = 49) and early career professionals (n = 82) were asked to participate in a questionnaire, based on previous research, that was created by the author for this specific study to assess the above variables. The study is exploratory and descriptive in nature. Results revealed that participants\u27 view of their attire was important in influencing their self and social perceptions. Specifically, attire influenced how professional, confident, and approachable participants felt. Participants agreed that the way they look is important to them and that dressing like their clients and colleagues helps them fit in. Open-ended question responses revealed the implications of attire on the experiences of SEPP practitioners during their applied work
Development of Quality Processes on the Example of the Company Irontec Ltd
Lõputöö autor kaardistas ettevõttes kõik protsessid ISO 9001:2015 kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteemi loomise jaoks. Kaardistatud andmete analüüsi põhjal selgitas lõputöö autor välja ettevõttes kõige suuremate kitsaskohtadega protsessid, eesmärgiga need protsessid väljatöötada.
Lõputöös püstitatud eesmärgid lahendas lõputöö autor järgnevalt:
1) olemasolevate protsesside kaardistamine ettevõttes:
lõputöö autor kogus protsesside kaardistamiseks vajalikke andmeid kvalitatiivse uurimismeetodi abil. Andmete kogumiseks teostas autor ettevõttes tööajal ja töökohas protsesside avalikke vaatlusi ja esitas vajadusel vaatluste käigus protsessides osalejatele täpsustavaid küsimusi.
Seejärel intervjueeris autor protsesside toimivuse eest vastutavaid töötajaid. Ettevõtte kõikide protsesside kaardistamiseks vajalike andmete kogumiseks intervjueeris lõputöö autor kokku 7 töötajat. Kvaliteediohje protsesside kaardistamiseks vajalikud andmed sai lõputöö autor kätte intervjueerides 2 töötajat. Intervjuude lihtsustamiseks oli ettevalmistatud küsimustik avatud küsimustega, mis toetasid intervjuu kiiremat kulgu ja tekitasid elava vestluse. Kuna protsessid on ettevõttes suhteliselt lihtsa ja arusaadava ülesehitusega, ei kulunud protsesside kaardistamiseks vajaliku info kogumise peale kuigi kaua aega.
2) kvaliteediohje protsesside väljatöötamine:
ISO 9001:2015 kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteemi nõuete ja ettevõttes kaardistatud tegeliku olukorra analüüsi tulemusena töötas lõputöö autor välja ja koostas protsessiskeemid kvaliteediohjega seotud protsessidele.
* saabunud materjali, toodangu kvaliteedikontrolli protsessi (Lisa 12) toimivuse tagamiseks oli vaja rakendada järgnevaid meetodeid:
- määrata vastutusalad;
- luua süsteem füüsiliselt lattu saabunud materjali, toodangu võrreldavuse kohta seotud dokumentatsiooniga;
- luua protseduuri dokumendihalduse süsteem;
- täiendada kvaliteedikontrolli protseduuri saabunud materjalile, toodangule;
- luua tarnijatele esitatavate reklamatsioonide käsitlemise protseduur.
* partii tootmise kvaliteedikontrolli protsessi (Lisa 14) toimivuse tagamiseks oli vaja rakendada järgnevaid meetodeid:
- sisse viia tingimus, et korduvtööde puhul tuleb detailide kontrollimise sagedus märkida seadekaardile;
- luua kontroll-leht, mille täidetus tõestab, et valminud partii on vahetusevanema poolt kontrollitud ja vastab kliendi poolt etteantud spetsifikatsioonile.
* klientide reklamatsioonide käsitlemise protsessi (Lisa 16) toimivuse tagamiseks oli vaja rakendada järgnevaid meetodeid:
- määrata vastutusalad;
- luua reklamatsioonide käsitlemise ja jälgitavuse protseduur.
3) ettevõtte kõikide protsesside visualiseerimine modelleerimistarkvara Bizagi Modeler abil ISO 9001:2015 kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteemi sertifikaadi taotlemise jaoks:
lõputöö autor visualiseeris kogutud andmete põhjal protsessid skeemideks modelleerimistarkvara Bizagi Modeler abil ning kooskõlastas seejärel visualiseeritud skeemide vastavuse tegelikele tegevustele protsessi omanikega. Lõputöö raames valmis ettevõtte jaoks kokku 23 protsessiskeemi, millest 10 on põhiprotsesside skeemid ja 13 on tugiprotsesside
skeemid (Lisa 1).
Kasvule orienteeritud ettevõtte edukuse tagab kvaliteetne toodang, mis saavutatakse väljatöötatud kvaliteediohje protsesside tulemusena. Väljatöötatud kvaliteediohje protsessid võimaldavad ettevõttel tagada, et pakutavad tooted ja teenused vastavad klientide poolt etteantud nõuetele juhul, kui ettevõtte kõik töötajad jälgivad järjepidevalt väljatöötatud protsesside kriteeriumeid ja lähtuvad nendest oma igapäevatöös. Tänu kvaliteediohje protsesside väljatöötamisele ja kõikidele kaardistatud protsessidele on ettevõte lähemal ISO 9001:2015 kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteemi sertifitseerimisele. ISO 9001:2015 kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteemi sertifikaadi omamine tõendab nii olemasolevatele kui ka uutele potentsiaalsetele püsiklientidele, et Irontec OÜ on usaldusväärne tarnija, kes rakendab oma igapäevatöös väljatöötatud süsteeme ja protsesse ning teeb kõik endast oleneva, et süsteeme ja protsesse järjepidevalt parendada.The main goal of the following graduation thesis Development of Quality Processes on the Example of the Company Irontec Ltd is to identify the processes with the biggest bottlenecks in the company on the basis of the mapped data and then to develop these processes. The aim supporting the thesis is to map all the processes in the company for the creation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in order to achieve the certification of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in the company.
The author resolved the thesis goals as following:
1) Mapping of existing processes in the company:
The author of the thesis collected the data necessary for mapping the processes using a qualitative research method. In order to collect data, the author carried out public observations of processes in the company during working hours and at the workplace and, if necessary, asked the participants in the processes more detailed questions during the observations. The author then interviewed the employees responsible for performance of the processes. In order to collect the data necessary for mapping all the processes in the company, the author interviewed 7 employees.
The author received the data necessary for mapping the quality control processes by interviewing 2 employees. To simplify the interviews, the author prepared a questionnaire with open-ended questions which supported the faster course of the interview and created a lively conversation. As the processes in the company have a relatively simple and understandable structure, it did not take much time to gather the information needed to map the processes.
2) Development of quality control processes:
As a result of the analysis of the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and the actual situation mapped in the company, the author developed and compiled process diagrams for the processes related to quality control.
* in order to ensure the performance of the received material, and the production quality control process (Annex 12), it was necessary to apply the following methods:
- assign responsibilities;
- to set up a system for comparing the conformity of material and production entering the warehouse with documentation related to the same material and production;
- set up a document management system for the procedure;
- complement the quality control procedure for the incoming material and production;
- establish a procedure for handling complaints to suppliers.
* in order to ensure the performance of the batch production quality control process (Annex 14), it was necessary to apply the following methods:
- introduce the condition that, in case of repetitive work, the frequency of component inspections must be indicated on the set-up card;
- create a checklist that proves that the finished batch has been inspected and meets the specification given by the customer.
* in order to ensure the efficiency of the customer complaint handling process (Annex 16), it was necessary to apply the following methods:
- assign responsibilities;
- establish a complaint handling and traceability procedure.
3) Visualization of all processes of the company using the modeling software Bizagi Modeler for applying for the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certificate:
Based on the collected data, the author visualized the processes into schemes using the modeling software Bizagi Modeler and then coordinated the correspondence of the visualized schemes to the actual activities with the process owners. Within the framework of the graduation thesis, a total of 23 process schemes were completed for the company, of which 10 are basic process schemes and 13 are support process schemes (Annex 1).
The success of a growth-oriented company is ensured by high-quality production, which is achieved as a result of developed quality control processes. The developed quality control processes enable the company to ensure that offered products and services meet the requirements set by the customers if all employees of the company consistently follow the criteria of the developed processes and follow them in their daily work. Thanks to the development of quality control processes and all mapped processes, the company is closer the certification of the ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system.
If the company has an ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system certificate, it proves to both existing and new potential regular customers that Irontec Ltd is a reliable supplier that implements the systems and processes developed in its daily work and does its best to continuously improve the systems and processes
Product Development and Increasing Brand Recognition Based on Gemhill Ltd
Käesolev lõputöö on koostatud ettevõtte Gemhill AS baasil, selgitamaks välja kaubamärgi BonBon Lingerie tuntust eestlimaalaste seas ning nende harjumusi, eelistusi pesu ostmisel. Lõputöö keskendub tarbijauuringute baasil, kaubamärgi BonBon Lingerie populaaruse suurendamisele, tootearendusele ja turundusettepanekutele, et aidata ettevõttel müügikäivet ja tuntust suurendada. Diplomitöö käigus koostati kaks tarbijaküsitlust, millest esimene oli suure valimiga ning üldine, teine aga väikse valimiga ja spetsiifiline. Töö teine pool hõlmas endas tootearendust, mille raames õmmeldi reaalsed tooted ka valmis. Lõpus esitati turundusalased järeldused ja ettepanekud BonBon Lingerie tuntuse suurendamiseks. Töö algas eesmärkide seadmisega ning info kogumisega. Informatsiooni saadi ettevõtte tegevjuhilt ning ettevõtte töötajatelt. Antud teadmiste baasil koostas autor tarbijaküsitluse veebikeskkonnas Google Form´s ning levitas Facebook´i leheküljel. Lõputöö jaoks vajaliku tarbijaküsitluse eesmärgiks oli selgitada välja eestlaste ostuharjumused, pesutoodete eelistused ning kaubamärgi BonBon Lingerie tuntus. Küsitlusele vastas 625 inimest ning vastustest selgus, et eestlane ostab pesu pigem allahindluste ajal või tuju ajendil ja lemmikuteks mudeliteks on push-up rinnahoidja ja panty ehk tavaline püksik. Kinnitust sai ka tõsiasi, et palju soetatakse pesu kiirmoe brändide poodidest, mis annab aimu, et eestimaalane on hinnatundlik. Teise uuringu eesmärgiks oli teada saada tarbijate jaoks vajalikud omadused rinnahoidjale – nagu näiteks loomuliku efektiga push-up kausid ning eemaldatavad õlapaelad. Autor koostas spetsiaalse küsimustiku 19 naisele, mille põhjal selgus veel, et väikese rinnaga naistel jäävad tihti rinnahoidja kausid pealt tühjaks ning nad sooviksid, et kausid oleksid õmblusteta. Küsimustikust selgus, et teadlikkus brändist BonBon Lingerie on pigem tagasihoidlik ning leidub palju neid, kes ei ole sellest kaubamärgist mitte midagi kuulnud. Tarbijad, kes on kasutanud või kasutavad BonBon Lingeire tooteid, on rahul kvaliteedi ning mudelite ja suuruste valikutega, kuid toodi välja, et populaarsed suurused on tihti läbi müüdud. Rinnahoidjate suurustes olid levinumad 75B, 75C ja 75A. Toodete miinuspooleks mainiti, et iludetailid kipuvad kergesti eest ära tulema. Lähtuvalt uuringu tulemustest oli järgmine etapp tootearendus. Protsess viidi läbi tarbijaküsitluse põhjal ja tugines enim hääli saanud vastustele – push-up rinnahoidjale ja püksikutele. Tootearendus tehti A-korvi kandvate naiste vajadustest lähtuvalt. Tootearendus suunati just neile, kuna selgus, et neil on raske leida sobivat rinnahoidjat, mis hoiaks loomulikku push-up efekti ja ei jääks pealt tühjaks. Autor õmbles valmis prototüübid rinnahoidjast ja püksikutest, kuid masstootmisesse evitamiseks rinnahoidja veel valmis pole. Uurimuslikule ja tehnoloogilisele osale järgnes turundusettepanekute tegemine ettevõttele Gemhill, et tõsta tarbijate teadlikkust pesubrändist BonBon Lingerie. Hetkel on reklaamikanaliteks Facebook, Instagram ja Pinterest, lisaks toimub kord kuus pidudesari ’’Bedroom’’ klubis Vabank ning on olemas raadioreklaam ja edasimüjate üritused. Põhijäreldusena toob autor välja olulisemad turundusalased ettepanekud tulevikuks: Turunduse planeerimine ja eesmärkide seadmine, et neid saaks järjepidevalt jälgida ja mõõta ka tulemusi. Soovitud kaubamärgi identiteedi ja imago loomine, et ettevõttel oleks paigas olulised põhitõed, kuidas tarbija kaubamärki tajuma peaks. Sotsiaalmeedia reklaamkanalite parem haldamine, et ei tekiks erinevate kanalite vahel vastuolusid. Järjepidevus ja professionaalne kommunikatsioon sotsiaalmeedias, et toimuks järjepidev reklaam (Facebook´is ja Instagram´is) ning loodaks ka brändile eraldi blogi. Strateegiline sponsorlus, koostöö ja ristturundus, et tekiksid koostööpartnerid, kellega teha koos erinevaid projekte ja samas turundades üksteist. Avaürituse korraldamine, et tähistada firmade koostöö algust. Käesoleva lõputöö raames selgus, et BonBon Lingerie tuntuse tõstmiseks oleks vaja teha järjepidevat ja tugevat turnudust, et suurendada tulusid. Lisaks selgus, et A-korviga naistel pole kerge leida sobivaid mudeleid, mis annab aimu, et tulevikus tasub klientidele pakkuda suuremas valikus erinevaid mudeleid. Lõptöö autor tänab juhendjat H. Kuuske ning ettevõtte Gemhill AS töötajaid.Graduation thesis „Product Development and Increasing Brand Recognition Based on Gemhill Ltd“ is formed based on enterprise Gemhill AS, to ascertain awareness of trademark BonBon Lingerie among Estonians and their habits, preferences buying lingerie. A thesis concentrates to consumer survey’s, based on raising popularity of trademark BonBon Lingerie, product development and marketing suggestions, to increase company’s sales value and awereness. During graduation thesis, author made two survey’s, which the first one was general and for wide sample, the second on the other hand, was specific and for small target group. Second half of the thesis included product development, where the products were ready-made. In the conclusion the author presented marketing inferences and suggestions to increase awareness of BonBon Lingerie. Thesis inchoate setting goals and gathering information. The information came from CEO of the company and from the workers. Based on that knowledge, the author formed consumer survey in web environment Google Form’s and spread it in Facebook. Survey, necessary for graduation thesis, aimed to identify Estonian’s purchasing habits, lingerie preferences and consciousness of trademark BonBon Lingerie. Survey had 625 respondents and it appeared that Estonian buys lingerie during the discounts or when they are in mood and the favourite items are push-up bra and panty a.k.a regular panties. Fact, that many people buy lingerie from fast fashion brand stores, was confirmed, which shows that Estonian’s are still price sensitive. Aim for the other survey, was to find out essential attributes for the bra – for example natural push-up bra cups and removable elastic straps. Author compiled special questionnaire, to 19 women, from where appeared that women with small breasts have problem with bra cups – they are often empty from above. Women as well would like bra cups without stitches. From the survey it appeared that the awareness of brand BonBon Lingerie is unassuming and plenty of people don’t know anything about this trademark. Consumers, who have used or are using BonBon Lingerie products, are satisfied with the quality, designs and size range options. However, it was mentioned that the popular sizes are often sold out. The most common bra sizes according to survey, were 75B, 75A and 75C. Nevertheless, the negative thing about BonBon Lingerie production seemed to be easily detaching details. Based on the survey results, the next stage was product development. The process conducted on the basis of survey and relied on the answers which received most votes – push-up bra and panty. Author compiled specific questionnaire for women, who wear A-cup bra size, which was the base for product development to fulfill small breasted women needs. Merchandising was framed for them, because it transpired that they have difficulties for finding fitting bras, which would hold natural push-up effect and would not be emoty from above. Author sewed the prototypes, bra and panty, however the bra is not ready for massprotuction implementation. Implied to exploratory and technological section came marketing suggestions to company Gemhill, to raise consumer awareness about trademark BonBon Lingerie. At the moment the advertising channels are Facbook, instagram and Pinterest, together with party series ‚‚Bedroom’’ in club Vabank and also they have radio commercial and resellers events. The author brings out the main conclusions for marketing for the future: Marketing planning and goal setting, for continuous following and observating results. To establish identity and image for desired trademark, for setting substantial basics, how consumer has to sense the brand. Social media medium better management, so there would not be variances between different channels. Consistency and professional communication in social media, for consistent advertisement (Facebook and Instagram) and blog making for trademark. Strategical sponsorship, cooperation and cross-marketing, so there would be cooperation partners for different projects and for marketing each other. Organize the opening event, to celebrate cooperation of enterprises. In graduation thesis it accured that to increase the awareness of BonBon Lingerie, there has to be consistent and intense marketing, to increase profits. Besides it appeared that women, who wear bra sizes with A-cup, have difficulties for finding the right bra, which shows that in the future it is worth to offer clients wider variety of models. Kurtna Landscape Protection Area - Natural Resource Utilisation and Development Opportunities
Käesolev magistritöö annab ülevaate Kurtna maastikukaitseala looduslikest tingimustest ja
olulisematest järvestiku seisundi mõjutavatest teguritest. Looduskeskkonna kirjeldamiseks
käsitleti Kurtna piirkonna mullastiku, geoloogilise ehituse ja kliima tingimusi ning toodi välja
Kurtna maastikukaitseala maastikulisi väärtusi, rõhutades järvestiku unikaalsust. Kurtnas
paikneb umbes 30 km² suurusel maa-alal 40 järve ja järvekest kogupindalaga 3,5 km². Kurtnas
on järvede all 11,6% territooriumist, mis on suurim järvede tihedus Eestis ning seetõttu
meenutab Soome järvemaastikke. Samuti töös juhiti tähelepanu looduskaitse korraldusest:
Kurtna maastikukaitseala moodustati 1987. aastal, 2005. aastal kehtestati maastikukaitseala
kaitse-eeskiri ning olid määratud uus välispiir ja kaitsevööndite piirid. Käesoleval ajal Kurtna
maastikukaitseala pindala on 2805 ha ja hõlmab Kurtna loodusala, mille pindala on 416,3 ha.
Magistritöö annab ülevaate Ida-Viru ja Illuka valla arengudokumentides ettenähtud
arenguteedest. Suur osa Kurtna järvestikku ümbritsevast territooriumist on inimtegevuse
tagajärjel muudetud ning töös käsitleti olulisemaid järvestiku seisundi mõjutavaid tegureid.
Käesoleval ajal on oluline sobitada tootmistehnoloogiad vastavatele looduslikele tingimustele.
Üks näide on uue tehnoloogia rakendamine Sirgala II kaeveväljal, kus kaevetööde tehnoloogia
muutmise ja spetsiaalse filtratsioonitõkke rajamisega jätkati põlevkivi kaevandamist Kurtna
maastikukaitseala vahetus läheduses ning sellega välistati oluliselt negatiivset mõju järvestikule.
Viimasel 10 aastal Kurtna maastikukaitseala keskkonnaseisund spetsialistide arvamusel on
paranenud seoses tööstusettevõtete poolt keskkonnasäästlikke tehnoloogiate rakendamisega.
Kurtna järvestiku olukord on ka oluliselt paranenud, veetase on tõusnud ja on stabiilne. Viru
alamvesikonna veemajanduskava alusel on enamike Illuka vallas asuvate järvede seisund hea.
Praeguste andmete kohaselt on väga heas seisundis Räätsma; heas seisundis Liivjärv, Kuradijärv,
Kurtna Suurjärv, Kurtna Valgejärv, Jaala järv, Kurtna Ahnejärv, Kurtna Nõmmejärv, Kurtna
Saarejärv ja Konsu järv; keskmises seisundis Martiska ning määramata seisundis Aknajärv,
Kirjakujärv, Niinsaare järv. Martiska järve keskmise seisundi põhjus on projektipiirkonnas
veetaseme alandamine.
2003. ja 2012. aastate läbiviidud uuringute alusel võib öelda, et inimeste suhtumine
keskkonnaprobleemidesse on muutunud. 10 aasta jooksul on looduskaitse-alane tegevus pidevalt
arenenud: inimeste keskkonnateadlikkus on kasvanud, keskkonna rikkumiste arv on vähenenud,
keskkonnaharidustase on tõusnud, samas paljud tegevused vajavad veel korraldamist. Küsitlustes
osalenud inimesed on hästi informeeritud Kurtna järvestiku piirkonna looduskasutuse
probleemidest, maastikukaitseala külastajate teadlikkus keskkonnakasutusest suurenenud ning on
hakatud rohkem hoidma loodust.
Magistritöö tulemusena autor töötas välja soovitused Kurtna maastikukaitseala säästlikuks
kasutamiseks. Autori arvates tuleb Kurtna maastikukaitsealal arendada keskkonnasõbralikku
puhkeinfrastruktuuri. Inimestele tuleb luua head tingimused puhkamiseks maastikukaitseala
kohtades, kus puhkemajandus ei avaldaks negatiivset mõju kaitseala väärtustele. Eelkõige tuleb
maastikukaitsealale planeerida tegevusi, mis aitaksid kaasa Kurtna looduse keskkonnaseisundi
parandamisele ja tagaksid Eestimaa ühe omapärase maastikuala säilimise.
Käesoleval ajal hakati koostama Kurtna maastikukaitseala kaitsekorralduskava ning käesoleva
magistritöö tulemusena väljapakutavad soovitused on aktuaalsed ning neid edastatakse
kaitsekorralduskava koostajale TLÜ Ökoloogia Instituuti ja Riigimetsa majandamise keskusse.Landscape is a system where man and nature meet and there mutual impact is most evident
(Palang et al, 2008). Diverse landscapes is the unique natural resource of Estonia. Level alvars,
versatile hillocky moraines, outwash plains covered with forests, beautiful dunes, diverse bogs
and swamps. One good example of these versatile landscapes is Kurtna Kame Field in the
middle of an industrial landscape. This area is rich in oil shale which is one of the most
important natural resources in Estonia. The near-by areas include peat fields, sand quarries,
water intakes. However, this rises the question of human impact and therefore we need to think
about the future, what we can do to enhance the status of the environment in Kurtna and to
guarantee the preservation of one of the most unique landscapes in Estonia.
The research about Kurtna lakes turned out to be most interesting as the author has many
childhood memories connected with the area. The author started the research about Kurtna area
already in 2002-2003 for her Bachelor Thesis “Possible Solutions to the Natural Resource
Utilisation Problems in the Area of Kurtna Lakes”. The aim of the thesis was to map the most
important natural resource utilisation problems and environmental hazards in the area of Kurtna
Lakes, as well as to point out some of the possible solutions to the problems. Therefore the
Master Thesis was a natural way to continue the research started by the Bachelor Thesis.
The author has set four main goals for the research:
1. Overview of the natural conditions of Kurtna Landscape Protection Area and to
determine the most important factors that have the strongest impact on the condition of
the lakes.
2. Analysis of the trends in the conditions of Kurtna Landscape Protection Area in the last 10
years.
3. Evaluation of the changes in attitudes towards problems connected with nature resource
utilisation.
4. Recommendations to enhance the conservation and a better utilisation of Kurtna lakes area.
During the research the author carried out a survey among the visitors of Kurtna Landscape
Protection Area, as well as interviews with the environment experts; the obtained data were the
base for the recommendations to develop Kurtna Landscape Protection Area.
The Master Thesis provides information about the natural conditions in Kurtna Landscape
Protection Area as well as of some of the most important factors that have an impact on the
condition of the lakes. To describe the natural environment the author looked into the geological
composition, as well as the soil and climate conditions of the area and pointed out the landscape
values of Kurtna Landscape Protection Area, with the main emphasis on the uniqueness of the
lakes. There are 40 lakes with the total area of 3.5 km² in the area that covers ca 30 km² in
Kurtna. So 11.6% of the whole territory in Kurtna is covered by lakes, which is the highest
percentage in Estonia and therefore resembles the lacustrine landscapes of Finland. The thesis
also draws attention to the organisation of nature conservation: Kurtna Landscape Protection
Area was founded in 1987, in 2005 the conservation rules for landscape protection areas were
laid down, the new outer border and borders for protection areas were determined. Today Kurtna
Landscape Protection Area covers 2805 hectares and includes Kurtna Special Area of
Conservation with the area of 416.3 ha. The Master Thesis provides also an overview of the
trends laid down in the development plans and documents of Ida-Viru county and Illuka
municipality. A big part of the territory surrounding Kurtna lakes has been changed by human
activity and therefore one of the topics of the Thesis were the factors that have the strongest
impact on the conditions of the lakes. Nowadays it is of utmost importance to fit the production
technologies in the existing natural conditions. One of the examples here is the implementation
of new technologies in Sirgala II mining field, where new mining technology was introduced and
a special filtration barrier was built; it was therefore possible to continue mining oil shale in the
proximity of Kurtna Landscape Protection Area and at the same time the negative impact on the
condition of the lakes was reduced significantly.
According to the experts, the environmental situation in Ida-Virumaa has improved in the last ten
years, as new clean technologies have been introduced by industrial enterprises. The conditions
of Kurtna Lakes have also improved, the water level has risen and has become stable.
The researches that have been carried out in 2003 and 2012 show that the attitude towards
environmental problems has changed. The environmental and conservation activities have been
constantly improved in the last ten years: the environmental awareness has improved, the
number of violations has decreased, the level of environmental education has improved;
however, several areas still need amendments. The people who participated in the surveys were
quite well-informed about the problems connected with nature resource utilisation in Kurtna
lakes area, the awareness of the visitors had increased and they are more concerned about nature
protection.
As a result of the Master Thesis the author wrote some recommendations for sustainable use of
Kurtna Landscape Protection Area. The author of the Thesis suggests that a recreation
infrastructure should be developed in Kurtna Landscape Protection Area. Conditions should be
provided for the visitors for recreational activities in such places where it would not have a
negative impact on the values of the protection area. First and foremost such activities should be
planned there that would contribute to the enhancement of the environmental conditions in
Kurtna and guarantee the preservation of one of the most unique landscapes in Estonia.
The conservation programme for Kurtna Landscape Protection Area is under construction and
the recommendations which were provided as a result of the Thesis are taken into consideration
and will be forwarded to the experts in charge of laying down the conservation programme, i.e.
to the Institute of Ecology in Tallinn University and to the State Forest Management Centre

Preparing an in-house competency exam for Elron's traffic controllers, determining its necessity
Lõputöö kirjutamise ajal koostati esmakordselt Elroni liikluskorraldajatele majasisene pädevuseksam.
Ankeetküsimustiku kaudu saadi liikluskorraldajate poolt tagasisidet pädevuseksami osas. Uurimusest
selgus, et koostatud pädevuseksam on liikluskorraldajate arvates vajalik ning seda saab edaspidi nende
töös rakendada. Pädevuseksami sisu hinnati asjakohaseks. Pädevuseksami vormina eelistati ametialast
koolitust või seminari, milles käsitletakse autori poolt koostatud pädevuseksami küsimusi. Vajalikuks
peeti ametialaste teadmiste ja oskuste kontrollimist majasiseselt. Olulise tulemusena saab välja tuua, et
koostatud pädevuseksami teemade ja küsimuste osas tuleks teha parendusi ning eksami vormina ei ole
see liikluskorraldajate arvates parim viis teadmisi ja oskusi kontrollida. Pädevuseksami raudteealases
teemaplokis peab välja jätma mõned küsimused raudtee tehnokasutuseeskirjast ja raudtee
signalisatsioonijuhendist. Lisada tuleb küsimusi teise teemaplokki: eriolukorra, ohutuse ning Pääsküla
depoo raudtee ja pöörangute teemadel. Ametialane koolitus pädevuse kontrollimisega peaks toimuma
3 - 5 aasta tagant.
Lõputöö autor teeb ettepaneku AS-ile Eesti Liinirongid hakata edaspidiselt Elroni liikluskorraldajate
pädevusi kontrollima ja täiendama majasiseselt. Ametialasel koolitusel käsitletakse lõputöö autori
koostatud pädevuseksami küsimusi. Koolitused peaksid toimuma iga kolme aasta tagant.In the thesis, an in-house competency exam for Elron's traffic controllers was prepared for the first time.
Through a questionnaire, traffic controllers received feedback regarding the competency test. The
research revealed that the scheduled competency exam is necessary in the opinion of traffic controllers
and that it can be applied in their line of work in the future. The content of the competency exam was
assessed as relevant. Professional training or a seminar was preferred as the form of the competency
exam, which handles the questions compiled by the author. In-house verification of professional
knowledge and skills was considered necessary. As a significant result, it can be pointed out that
improvements should be made regarding the topics and questions of the competency exam, and that as
an exam form, according to traffic controllers, it is not the best way to assess their knowledge and skills.
Professional training with competency testing should take place every 3 - 5 years.
The author of the thesis proposes to the JSC "Eesti Liinirongid" to check and improve the competencies
of Elron's traffic controllers in-house in the future. The questions of the competency exam compiled by
the author of the thesis are now being used in professional training. Training should take place every
three years
