Although fifty years have passed since the death of Fatima Jinnah - author, activist and stateswoman known in Pakistan as the 'mother of the nation' - this is the first scholarly biography to tackle her life in full. Her background and contribution to Muslim nationalism under the British Raj, as well as her various efforts to consolidate the state, including a run for president in 1964, are told through previously untapped archival sources. Examining her life in the context of scholarship on South Asia and on women in Islam, Pirbhai assesses Fatima Jinnah's role through the theoretical lens of the colonial 'new woman'. This is essential reading for all those interested in modern South Asian and Islamic history, particularly the themes of gender and colonialism, the roots of Muslim nationalism and the early challenges facing the Pakistani state, as shown through the extraordinary lived experience of its most influential female activist.</jats:p

O tome svjedoče i crkve posvećene Gospi Fatimskoj u kojima Kristovi vjernici svoj život nadahnjuju na fatimskim porukama molitve i pokore, obraćenja i mira. A hundred years after the events at Fatima, the messages from Our Lady of Fatima are present and active among the faithful Croatians. This is evident through the amount of churches dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, in which Christ’s believers are inspired by the Fatima messages of prayer and penance, conversion and peace. In this article, the author presents these churches and remarks on the acceptance of the messages of Our Lady of Fatima in them over time. In the introduction, he writes about the arrival of news regarding the Fatima events to the Croatian territory, the start of the pilgrimage of believers in Fatima and the beginning and delving devotion to Our Lady of Fatima among Croatian Catholics. This is evident through the construction of churches, chapels, and small chapels in her honour. In the conclusion, he evaluates the acceptance and actualization of Fatima’s messages in these churches and their influence on the Marian devotion in the Croatian regions

In the article the author analyses Leon Lovrenčić’s Marian sermons, published in 1957 in the collection entitled Imakulata, by focusing on how they discuss apparitions of our Lady in Fatima, Fatima messages, and events related to them. In the extensive introductory and first part of the article, the author presents, in a concise manner, contemporary Catholic teaching on »last things«, i.e. on eschatology and private and public revelations, so that the Fatima events and messages might be better understood in the contemporary context of today’s world. The author believes that private revelations (those recognised by the Church) can be of great help in faith. In that context one ought to understand the Fatima visions and messages, circumstances, facts, and contents that are intermingled with the history of the 20th century. In the central part the author discusses the Fatima events themselves that started to happen in 1917 and consisted of unusual visions of three children that saw »the Lady in white«. Since the event of Fatima apparitions to children Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta on May 13, 1917 is fairly well known, this part only reminds the reader of that event in a concise manner. During six conversations with the Lady, three »secrets« (visions) were revealed to the little children that witnessed apparitions, of which the third one roused and still rouses most interest and discussions. The author offers a translation of contents of all three Fatima visions (»secrets«) and then elaborates on the Christian understanding and interpretation of the eschatological state called Hell, because the central message and contents of the Fatima eschatological vision, in author’s opinion, revolves around this. In the final part of the article, the author offers a few contemporary interpretations and understandings of the Fatima events, understood as »prophetic events«. He emphasises reflections and writings of a few authors who offer, in his opinion, valuable contributions to understanding what happened in Fatima. The author concludes that spiritual interpretations of the Fatima revelations are still open, that the Fatima message remains current, and that a »serious signal« was emitted from Fatima. This signal opposes widely reigning imprudence and indifferentism, summons us to seriousness of life and history, to responsibility, and warns of dangers that threaten the humanity.

In this paper the author situates the talk about the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima in historical, social and political context in Portugal from the second part of the 18th until the apparitions of Our Lady in Fatima. The author also lists the 16 Marian apparitions that the Church recognised in the 18th, 19th and 20th century from Laus (France) 1664 – 1718 to San Nicolas de los Arroyos (Argentina) 1983 – 1990. Then he briefly describes the emergence of feasts and worship of the Angels of Portugal and the apparitions of the Angel of Peace in 1915 and 1916, which were the heavenly preparation for the apparitions of the Mother of God. After that, the writer interprets the Lady’s apparitions in Fatima from May 13 to October 13, 1917, which is followed by a short description of each individual apparition. He then discusses the Church’s recognition of the apparitions. After that, the author analyses the three‑part secret (or three secrets) that the Lady revealed to children on the third apparition on July 13, 1917. At the end, the author discusses the Fatima secrets and messages about the horrors of the 20th century and our task today
