This research investigates the social and political circumstances of Pakistan during 1980s, when General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq exercised his power and controlled the government of Pakistan by military take-over till he breathed his last in an air crash near Bahawalpur. Mohammed Hanif, a journalist and newscaster of BBC London Urdu service has written an allegorical fiction named “A Case of Exploding Mangoes” in which he has narrated various instances of General Zia’s praetorianism. During the course of narration Mohammed Hanif, as an adept critic and seasoned analyst of global political scenario has employed the devices of black humour, irony and political satire in an allegorical way by making use of real and fictitious characters, well known to the Pakistani masses and International Community for their significant role in Pakistani armed forces and political government. Mohammed Hanif’s novel is a very valuable document which very aptly describes the reality of Pakistani politics, army’s role and its interference in public and civil politics. This novel also throws light on General Zia’s personality as the Chief of Army Staff and afterwards as the elected president, who remained a perfect example of a praetor throughout his reign of a third world country, named Pakistan
Power, Privilege or Right: A Radical-Feminist Evaluation of Attar of Roses and other stories of Pakistan
The present research paper is an evaluation of power, privilege or right enjoyed by the men in Pakistani Patriarchal society in Attar of Roses and Other Stories of Pakistan, a collection by Tahira Naqvi. Naqvi is an emerging female Pakistani writer in English, who has used her fiction to radicalize the marginalized position of Pakistani women. Radical Feminism will serve as a theoretical and conceptual framework for the apt exploration of the problematic. Naqvi has a well-organized stance to present in her stories and there is a true depiction of woman subjugation, patriarchal oppression and sense of insecurity in housewives and working ladies as well. However, Naqvi has delineated her female characters rebellious of set norms and traditions which show seeds of radicalism in our society. The tentative conclusion of this research will hint at the changing social position of men and women in our society.

Modelling Interactions Between Traffic and Crosswalk Agents at Unsignalized Crossings
Agent behaviour modelling is currently one of the most challenging topics in the autonomous driving industry meaning that more research is needed in order to understand how autonomous cars should be interacting and behaving around pedestrians and cyclists. The research includes modelling vehicle-bicycle interactions based on hierarchical modelling framework [1] generating different features mentioned in literature and some proposed by author, selecting relevant ones using F value and finally creating a simple logistic regression model for estimating the drivers yielding probability. As a result, a model with following features is suggested: bicycle distance from conflict zone when vehicle enters the interaction zone, vehicle mean speed inside interaction zone, minimum speed distance and minimum speed inside interaction zone. The research also indicates that driver yielding probability is reduces with higher vehicle speed and higher bicycle distance. Furthermore, the data indicates that drivers who perceive a conflict but do not yield experience the highest mean speed referring that some vehicles do accelerate in order to avoid giving way. Additionally, the low variation in bicycles’ speed indicates cyclists’ assertive behaviour and perhaps expectations for the vehicle to yield
Negotiating Identity and Socioeconomic Disparity in The Bride by Bapsi Sidhwa: A Post-modern Study
The purpose of this research is to explore the complex relationship between negotiating cultural identity and socioeconomic disparity in Bapsi Sidhwa's 'The Bride'. The present study employs Nancy Frazer's theory of social justice as a theoretical framework. The goal of the research is to show how the characters' experiences with cultural identities are closely linked to their socio-economic disparities. The research intends to elucidate the intricate processes that effect the characters' goals and reactions to social issues by utilizing Frazer's Theory of social justice. By providing comprehensions to the larger conversation on social justice within the post-partition community, this analysis develops our understanding of the intricacy present in characters’ identities and their socio-economic status. The conclusion of this research tends to explore the negotiation of identity and socio-economic disparity in post partition context by utilizing the theoretical framework of Frazer theory of social justice

The data for the study was collected from the website of the journals. A total of 178 research articles were identified, which were reviewed under the specified research objectives. Data was analyzed with the help of MS Excel and Publish or Perish was also used to calculate the citations of papers. It was found that 2020 was the most productive year with 64 publications. The paper of M. N. Ansari and B. A. Zuberi was the most cited paper with 105 citations. Two personal authors contributed 81 research articles while male authors produced 122 and female wrote 56 articles to the journals. Dr. Rubina Bhatti was the most prolific author with 34 papers, Punjab was the most productive province with 106 papers and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was the most productive institution with 42 publications

Demand and Supply Conditions of Islamic Housing Finance in the United Kingdom: Perceptions of Muslim Clients
An important aspect of Islamic finance in the retail market has been the introduction of mortgage products for housing finance. These are offered by a number of banks in the UK. The aim of this research is to examine the characteristics of the UK market for Islamic mortgages and to analyse the activities of the major institutions involved. Supply and demand conditions are explored.
This study evaluates the development of Islamic housing finance in the United Kingdom by focusing on the following main areas: First, it investigates whether there is any effective demand for Islamic Mortgages in the UK. Second, the study evaluates the perceptions of UK Muslims towards various aspects of Islamic mortgages and provides an empirical assessment of these perceptions. Also, the study analyses how Muslim client attitutes and the overall environment affects preferences for Islamic mortgage products. Third, it investigates the factors which might encourage or discourage home-buying among UK Muslims. Fourth, it investigates the current structures of Islamic mortgages and examines whether these play a role in helping low-income groups from the Muslim community to achieve home ownership. Fifth, it investigates the current practices surrounding Islamic mortgages to identify the obstacles and factors influencing decision making with the aim of suggesting possible remedies. The study also evaluates accessibility issues with the objective of defining effective ways of raising awareness in the Muslim Community. It also discusses the marketing of Islamic mortgages and investigates the importance of product awareness by bank staff. Furthermore, it explores in detail the role of religion, Muslim households’ consumer preferences and the prospects for Islamic banks cross-selling mortgage products to Muslim customers. Finally this study investigates the factors influences clients’ choices of Islamic mortgage providers.
In fulfilling its aims and objectives, this study has utilized both primary and secondary data from the UK. A survey questionnaire was conducted among the Muslim community in London. Non-parametric procedures and tests have been used to analyze the data collected.
The findings of the study demonstrate that there is a gap in home ownership among British Muslims compared to the general public, which is determined by affordability, financial exclusion and information gaps. In addition, this study found that there is substantial potential demand for Islamic mortgages in the UK, which requires effective but also sound marketing strategies. Perception and opinion analysis also indicated that wider social factors and lifestyle choices may be increasing the demand for Islamic mortgages. Moreover, the findings also demonstrate that perceptions of Islamic mortgages are similar between different ethnic and tenure groups. Some Muslim ethnic groups are more willing than others to take on an Islamic mortgage even if it is more expensive than a conventional mortgage.
The study concludes that the prospects of Islamic mortgages in UK are promising and, unlike conventional bank mortgages, they are not financed by borrowing from wholesale markets, but rather from Islamic deposits. Islamic housing finance has proved sustainable, and has not been subject to the problems associated with sub-prime defaults. On the other hand a careful risk appraisal by Islamic institutions providing housing finance has made it more difficult for low-income Muslims or those with less secure employment to obtain Shariah-compliant mortgages
