Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full text個人情報保護のため削除部分あり一八四七年にマルクス他若干名の共産主義者とロンドンの義人同盟の指導部とが中心になって組織された共産主義者同盟は、早くも翌四八年に革命に遭遇した。同盟は、本部をロンドンからパリ、パリからケルンへと移してドイツの革命に対処しようとした。しかし四八年後半になると同盟の活動の記録は消え失せてしまう。マルクスは専ら『新ライン新聞』編集長として奪戦の跡を残すのみである。共産主義者同盟は何処へ行ったのか。この問の事情を示す一つの資料がある。一八五三年末に作成されたレーザー供述書がそれである。この資料の中で、革命後ケルンの同盟組織の中心的存在となったレーザーは、四八年夏に同盟がマルクスによって解散されたと証言している。しかしレーザー供述書によって四八年解散を認めることの是非については論争が絶えない。本稿は、マルクスの党概念の検討にまで視野を広げて、これらの四八年解散問題をめぐる議論を整理しようとするものである。Die Forschung vom Bund der Kommunisten leidet unter der Armut an Dokumenten. Nur ein einziges Dokument gibt den Übersicht über die innere Tätigkeit des Bundes der Kommunisten während der Revolution 1848-49: die Aussagen des letzten Vorsitzenden des Bundes und Hauptangeklagten im Kölner Kommunistenprozeß Peter Gerhard Röser. Aber gerade um diese Aussagen, die Röser nach seiner Verurteilung während der Haft machte, ist eine heftige Kontroverse entstanden. Die Frage ist: ob Karl Marx im Sommer 1848 den Bund aufgelöst hatte, wie Röser in seinen Aussagen behauptete. Die einen Forscher bestreiten die Zuverlässigkeit der Aussagen, während die anderen Röser für glaubwürdig halten. In diesem Aufsatz versuchen wir die Frage von der Seite des Marxschen Gedankens über die kommunistische Bewegung zu beantworten

No full text個人情報保護のため削除部分あり最近、一八世紀以前の「古き手工業」に関しては、それが単なる経済活動ではなく、包括的で多面的な生活文化を形成していたという点が強調されるようになってきた。しかし、多面性の具体的な様相についてはそれほど明瞭になっているとは言い難い。そこで、本稿においては、都市の市民権と手工業における営業権が一組のものとして取得されていたという事実から、政治的機能を経済的機能と並ぶ「古き手工業」のもう一つの重要機能と捉え、手工業が都市の自治体制の中でどのような役割を果たしていたのかを検討することにした。一八世紀以前の都市の在り方を考慮して、三つの帝国都市を選び、これらの都市における政治体制と手工業との係わりを検討の手がかりとした。In letzter Zeit wird es betont, dass das zunftig geregelte "alte Handwerk" vor 18. Jahrhundert weit mehr als nur Erwerbstatigkeit war, es vielmehr eine umfassende, multifunktionelle Lebenskultur darstellte. Aber bis heute ist es noch nicht erklart, ausser den okonomischen Funktionen, wo der Schwerpunkt dieser Multifunktionalitat lag. Doch das Zusammenfallen von Meisterschaft und Burgerrecht macht es deutlich, dass das alte Handwerk als wichtigste Funktionen eine politische Rolle in der Selbstverwaltung der Stadt spielte. In diesem Aufsatz werden diese politische Funktionen des Handwrks in dem stadtischen Regiment ausgefuhrt. Dabei werden drei verschiedenartige Reichsstadte als Untersuchungsgebiet ausgewahlt
