Life is a current, a naturally impelled flow that is energetically maintained over time. Life is a continuous and ceaseless stream that transcends the individual. In this processive on rolling we can find a confluence of the actual and the potential, the self and the other, the human and the natural, the present and the historical, and the is and the ought

Fast calculation of carrier harmonic iron losses caused by pulse width modulation in interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

Normal calculation of the carrier harmonic iron losses (CHILs) brought by the pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source inverter in interior permanent magnet synchronous motors by the time-stepping finite-element analysis (TSFEA) with short time steps is very time-consuming. In this study, a novel method for fast calculation is proposed, where a combination of the frozen differential reluctivity tensor method and the time-harmonic finite-element analysis is proposed to investigate the relationship between PWM voltage harmonics and the corresponding CHILs, with which the CHILs in stator and rotor are fastcalculated with the voltage harmonics in stator and rotor reference frames, respectively. Besides, the eddy current reaction effect in electrical steel sheets on the CHILs at high frequency is considered by an analytical method and validated with the TSFEA. The results reveal that eight parameters are recommended to calculate the CHILs at different operating conditions, which vary with the fundamental current. Consequently, the CHIL map over the entire operating conditions can be fastcalculated using the analytical spectra of the PWM voltages. Experiment on a specimen is conducted to validate the accuracy of the proposed method, which shows it depends on whether the equivalent differential permeability of the silicon steel can be accurately modelled.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.DC systems, Energy conversion & Storag

Product Layout Optimization and Simulation Model in a Multi-level Distribution Center

    No full text
AbstractWe consider the product allocation problem in logistics engineering, which allows incorporating various aspects in horizontal and vertical direction. These aspects include carrying time, the turnover rates of products, relevance of product demand, elevator waiting time, vertical transportation time, etc. we develop a 0-1 programming model with two objectives-minimization of total transportation time and maximization of relevance of product demand. In order to obtain average waiting time of every level, we establish an elevator simulation model considering the limitation of elevator capacity. The proposed optimization model can be solved using Genetic algorithm heuristically. A numerical example shows its effectiveness

Robust mixture regression model fitting by Laplace distribution

    No full text
A robust estimation procedure for mixture linear regression models is proposed by assuming that the error terms follow a Laplace distribution. Using the fact that the Laplace distribution can be written as a scale mixture of a normal and a latent distribution, this procedure is implemented by an EM algorithm which incorporates two types of missing information from the mixture class membership and the latent variable. Finite sample performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by simulations. The proposed method is compared with other procedures, and a sensitivity study is also conducted based on a real data set
