    This technical report analyzes the impact of comparator offset on the effective number of bits (ENOB) of charge-sharing SAR ADCs. The authors propose a closed-form expression for the maximum achievable ENOB as a function of the comparator offset voltage, which is verified through behavioral simulations. By modeling the non-linear behavior of the CS ADC due to the comparator offset, the study provides valuable insights into the design guidelines and limitations of this type of ADC, ultimately contributing to the development of more accurate and efficient SAR ADCs for low-power applications
