Tu, na Uniwersytecie Gregoriańskim, odbył studia filozoficzne, zakończone stopniem doktora. Artykuł niniejszy jest pierwszą próbą spojrzenia na ten okres w życiu przyszłego biskupa. Autor analizuje dostępne informacje dotyczące różnych aspektów jego pobytu w Rzymie, studiów, kontaktów i znajomości. Stawia również pytania odnoszące się do znaczenia tego czasu dla formacji duchowej, intelektualnej i kulturowej księdza Gorala. W konkluzji stwierdza, że doświadczenie powszechności Kościoła, kontakt z międzynarodowym środowiskiem uczonych, ludzi kultury oraz obcowanie z wielkim dziedzictwem artystycznym Rzymu ukształtowały w znacznym stopniu osobowość przyszłego błogosławionego.In 1920-1922, Władysław Goral later an auxiliary Bishop of Lublin (1938), martyr of World War II and blessed (1999) stayed in Rome. There, at the Gregorian University, he completed his philosophical studies with a doctoral degree. This article is the first attempt to look at this period of the life of the future bishop. The author analyzes the available information about various aspects of his stay in Rome, studies, contacts and acquaintances. He also raises questions about the importance of this time for the spiritual, Intellectual and cultural formation of Father Goral. In conclusion, he states that the experience of the universality of the Catholic Church, contact with the international environment of scholars, people of culture, and communing with the great artistic heritage of Rome significantly shaper the personality of the future blessed

No full textIn his first monograph, Cold War Rivalry and the Perception of the American West, Pawel Goral, History lecturer at the University of Texas, Arlington, employs the myth of the American West as a critical lens to address the fascinating, albeit complex, theme of cultural memory and identity-building in Cold-War-divided-Germany. Goral’s thesis argues how the two spheres of political influence shaped opposing views of the Western myth, and how each block respectively deployed it to accommodate their own nationalistic needs. This contributed, the author claims, to fill the cultural void left in the aftermath of the Third Reich, as well as to the formation of a unified sense of Germanness after the fall of the Iron Curtain
Author neologisms in the novel "Rzeczy uprzyjemniające. Utopia" by T. Boldak-Janovska
No full textThe purpose of this article is an analysis of author neologisms extracted from the novel "Rzeczy uprzyjemniające. Utopia" by T. Boldak-Janovska – writer, although living in Olsztyn, belonging to the Polish-Belarusian border. The object of research was elected not by accident: for a few years the novel attracts the attention of readers and critics. For the purposes of this analysis were selected 186 neologisms, mostly nouns and verbs, most of whom are motivated formations. The most numerous are the names of animals, birds, reptile and fish, names of plants, trees, shrubs, names of everyday objects. Author neologisms constitute an indispensable component of the Polish vocabulary. Range: The species occurred in most high mountains of Korea until the early 20 th century (Won 1967). Only a small number of long-tailed gorals are now dispersed along the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range (Choi & Choi 2007). In South Korea, N. caudatus inhabits high mountains of Gangwon Province and northern Gyeongsangbuk Province (NIBR 2015; Fig. 73). Currently, goral is expanding its range and therefore, in 2018, one goral was poached by a snare in Pocheon (40 km northwest from Seoul) and two gorals occurred at an urban park in Seoul (Observation by the author, YSJ). In North Korea, the status of goral is ambiguous. Mt. Myohyang has a relatively healthy population and perhaps other populations, too (Dr. William Duckworth, IUCN, Pers. Comm.), whereas Kim et al. (2015) were concerned about drastic declines of gorals in North Korea. Remarks: The long-tailed goral has been regarded as a monotypic species, but recent DNA analysis indicated differences between populations in China and Korea and suggested the name N. c. raddeanus to designate the subspecies in Korea (Min et al. 2004). Conservation status: The South Korean government designated N. caudatus a Natural Monument in 1968 and an Endangered Species in 1997. In North Korea, N. caudatus with its habitats at Dancheon City, Hamgyeongnam Province, and Daehongdan County, Ryanggang Province were designated as Natural Monuments in 1980. CITES lists the long-tailed goral in Appendix I. No full textThis thesis examines the issue of the feasibility of
assignment of women to the DD-963 (Spruance) class
destroyer. The author has gathered published information in
the general topic areas of "women in the military" and
"gender integration in the Navy", as well as information on
the ship itself in order to form a framework for analysis.
Work-related standards of strength and physical ability are
examined, as well as attitudinal data collected from various
surveys on the subject of integration of women into ships.
This includes a questionnaire administered by the author to
the crew of a representative of the class.
The author concludes that there is a basis for support of
the experimental assignment of women to the Spruance class
destroyer. Although current laws and policies prohibit the
assignment of female crewmembers to this ship class (on
other than a temporary basis), the ship's unique characteristics
(e.g., enhanced habitability , automation and modular
systems), increase the feasibility of full-time service by
females and nullify many of the long-standing arguments used
to restrict participation by women. Further, there is
evidence of a growing acceptance of the concept of "women at
sea" among naval personnel, policymakers, and the general
public
.
With the growth in the size of the Navy's fleet to sixhundred
ships and the projected decline in the available
pool of eligible 17-to 23-year-old males through the
mid-1990s, the increased demand for talented youth in both
the Armed Services and the private sector leads to an
examination of "non- traditional" sources for qualified
accessions. Among these are women, reserves, civilians, and
male conscripts. This thesis focuses on the more effective
and expanded utilization of women, made more possible now
because of technological advancement and a shift in public

Biomulecular characterization of Fusarium poae strains isolated from durum wheat in central Italy
No full textFusarium Head Blight (FHB) is a worldwide disease affecting wheat, barley and other grains, reducing kernel weight and grain yield; infected seeds may contain a large number of mycotoxins, including trichothecenes of type a and B. These compounds have already been associated with human and animal toxicoses.
Most common species causing the disease are F. graminearum, F. culmorum and F. avenaceum, but in the last few years a gradual increase in incidence of another species, F. poae, has been reported. In general terms, F. poae is a relatively weak pathogen, but its contribute to the increase of mycotoxins level still has to be clarified.
Durum wheat is widely cultivated in the central part of Italy, however the effective incidence of F. poae in this area still has to be investigated.
In order to monitor Fusarium risk, we collected dozens of F. poae strains on seeds and glumes of durum wheat coming from some of the most important cultivated areas of Central Italy. Every isolate was identified both by microscope observation and by PCR assay with the primer pair Fp82 FIR.
Strains were therefore subjected to a more accurate molecular characterization by Translation Elongation Factor I-alpha (TEF -1 a) gene sequencing
