Frequency domain iterative feedforward/feedback tuning for MIMO ANVC
A new iterative feedback/feed-forward tuning (IFFT) method is presented for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) control systems that relies on efficient computation of the negative gradient of the controller cost function in the frequency domain. The iterative method is using only one experiment per iteration and it is therefore suitable for realtime implementation for periodic adjustment of the controller. The primary target application area of the presented method is self-tuning feedback control in active noise and vibration control (ANVC)

Mixing and entrainment of transitional noncircular buoyant reactive plumes
Three-dimensional spatial direct numerical simulation is used to investigate the evolution of reactive plumes established on non-circularsources. Simulations are performed for three cases: a rectangular plumewith an aspect ratio of 2:1, a square plume, and the square plume in acorner configuration. Buoyancy-induced large scale vortical structuresevolve spatially in the flow field. A stronger tendency of transition toturbulence is observed for the free rectangular plume than the freesquare case due to the aspect ratio effect. Dynamics of the cornersquare plume differs significantly from the corresponding free case dueto the enhanced mixing by the side-wall effects. A turbulent inertialsubrange has been observed for the free rectangular and corner squareplumes. Mean flow properties are also calculated. The study showssignificant effects of source geometry and side-wall boundary on theflow transition and entrainment of reactive plumes
Esempio di rappresentazione del sé in Lu Ling 路翎, Luo Dadou de yisheng 罗大斗的一生 (La vita di Luo Dadou)
In the story Luo Dadou’s life (Luo Dadou de yisheng 罗大斗的一生), Lu Ling 路翎 (1923-1994) gives shape to the deepness of human psyche and stresses the suffering of the Self of his age by giving a brilliant emphasis to human individuality. The author succeeds in doing so by creating an amazing psychological characterization of the main character, both by means of words and by means of grammatical structures. By applying Denton’s categories for the study of the Self in modern Chinese literature, I analysed Lu Ling’s short story from the Freudian and Kleinian psychodynamic perspective, so to demonstrate how Lu Ling enters his characters’ minds and wonderfully recreates the psychological dynamics inside and between them
Design of split-inductors applied in positive output super lift luo-converters
As the demand of the modern electronic devices and appliances are getting higher, the role of the converters with higher output and efficiency become wider for different industries. It has been the role of engineers to explore the converter topology to provide higher output voltage in simple design with less cost. There are quite a number of different ways of lifting output voltage in converter topology. The method that the author will be introducing is called “Split- Inductors Method”, where the
output voltage is totally dependent on the number of inductors used in the converter design. The
report will include a detail discussion about design and results of” split-inductors topology”,
applied to “Positive Output Super Lift Luo Converter” using software simulations and hardware
experiments.Bachelor of Engineerin
DNS and LES of Turbulence-Combustion Interactions
One of the most successful applications of direct numerical simulation (DNS) has been in the study of turbulent combustion. This is due to the ability of DNS to resolve the full range of time and length scales in which turbulence and chemical reactions interact with each other. One prominent example is the turbulent diffusion flame, in which turbulent mixing determines the main characters of combustion while chemical reactions strongly influence turbulence. The
present chapter focuses on turbulence-combustion interactions in variable-density flows, in which turbulent fluctuations in pressure, density and other variables play important roles. The phenomena of combustion-generated turbulence, decreased Reynolds stress anisotropy, counter-gradient diffusion, and combustion-generated
buoyancy can all be attributed to the coupling between turbulence and chemical heat release through density and pressure fluctuations. In contrast, the application of large eddy simulation (LES) in turbulent combustion has been slow and controversial, but carries a huge potential. The subgrid-scale modeling difficulties are not only related to the treatment of the highly non-linear chemical source term, but also
connected to the handling of extra subgrid terms in the energy and species transport equations, as compared with the case of non-reacting flow. The existence of counter-gradient diffusion, and the significance of viscous diffusion and dissipation in combusting flow present particular challenges. Despite all the difficulties, LES
has been successfully used in simulating turbulent reacting flows under comparable conditions as found in experiments, subject to certain limitations. One example is the simulation of buoyant reacting plumes in which flow transition, intermittency and fully-developed turbulence co-exist
Global well-posedness of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations perturbed by a deterministic vector field
Flandoli F, Hofmanová M, Luo D, Nilssen T. Global well-posedness of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations perturbed by a deterministic vector field . Annals of Applied Probability. 2022;32(4):2568-2586.We are concerned with the problem of global well-posedness of the 3D Navier-Stokes equations on the torus with unitary viscosity. While a full answer to this question seems to be out of reach of the current techniques, we establish a regularization by a deterministic vector field. More precisely, we consider the vorticity form of the system perturbed by an additional transport type term. Such a perturbation conserves the enstrophy and therefore a priori it does not imply any smoothing. Our main result is a construction of a deterministic vector field v = v(t, x) which provides the desired regularization of the system and yields global well-posedness for large initial data outside arbitrary small sets. The proof relies on probabilistic arguments developed by Flandoli and Luo, tools from rough path theory by Hofmanova, Leahy and Nilssen and a new Wong-Zakai approximation result, which itself combines probabilistic and rough path techniques
