Alteraciones Ambientales Asociadas a las Actividades del Turismo; caso de estudio: Chima, Colombia.
Get PDFTourism in the municipality of Chima Santander is one of the most important activities, its main attraction is the place called "Las Cascadas", this place receives hundreds of tourists at all times of the year. The increase in tourists is becoming more evident, but the problem of the absence of sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism is worrying, due to the large number of actions that are carried out in the different generic components, mainly due to the presence of waste both solid as liquid. The lack of environmental habits occurs both in tourists and in the inhabitants of the area, which is why it is necessary that the competent authorities contribute to carry out environmental development in this area of the country. The objective of the present study consists in the design of Environmental Education strategies that allow an integral management of the tourist environmental potential in the place ''Las Cascadas''. The methodology that was applied was descriptive with emphasis on qualitative and quantitative studies, where an environmental baseline, an identification and evaluation of impacts was carried out, to finally provide Environmental Education strategies to generate sustainable tourism. The municipality of Chima presents a great variety of natural resources, with the presence of different species of flora and fauna, and large bodies of water, through the study it was possible to identify the significant environmental impact generated by the presence of solid waste, by as well as the slight alteration generated by the wastewater discharges upstream, which negatively impact the environmental components of the place. The creation in the municipality of an Institute of Culture and Tourism focused on the planning of environmental projects, as well as the mitigation, control and prevention of negative impacts generated by tourist activities is of utmost importance.El turismo en el municipio de Chima Santander es una de las actividades más importantes, su principal atractivo es el lugar denominado “Las Cascadas”, este lugar recibe cientos de turistas en todas las épocas del año. El aumento de turistas cada vez es más evidente, pero la problemática por la ausencia de un turismo sostenible y amigable con el ambiente es preocupante, por el gran número de alteraciones que se realizan en los diferentes componentes: abiótico, biótico y social, generado principalmente por la presencia de residuos tanto sólidos como líquidos. La carencia de hábitos ambientales se presenta tanto en los turistas, como en lo propios habitantes de la zona, por lo cual es necesario que las autoridades competentes contribuyan para llevar un desarrollo ambiental a esta zona del país.
El objetivo del presente estudio consiste en el diseño de estrategias de Educación Ambiental que permitan un manejo integral del potencial ambiental turístico en el sitio ‘’Las Cascadas’’. La metodología que se aplicó fue de tipo descriptiva con énfasis en estudios cualitativos y cuantitativos, donde se realizó una línea base ambiental, una identificación y evaluación de impactos, para finalmente brindar estrategias de Educación Ambiental para generar un turismo sostenible. El municipio de Chima presenta una gran variedad de recursos naturales, con presencia de diferentes especies de flora y fauna, y cuerpos de aguas de gran extensión, a través del estudio se logró identificar los impactos ambientales significativos generados por la presencia de residuos sólidos, al igual que la alteración leve generada por los vertidos de Aguas Residuales, los cuales impactan negativamente los componentes ambientales del lugar. Es de suma importancia la creación en el municipio de un Instituto de Cultura y Turismo enfocado en la planificación de proyectos ambientales, así como la mitigación, control y prevención de impactos negativos que se generan por actividades turísticas
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
