Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

No full textKamaboko merupakan produk hasil olahan daging ikan berbentuk gel, yang bersifat kenyal dan elastis. Kamaboko merupakan makanan tradisional Jepang yang sangat disukai hingga saat ini. Di Indonesia dikenal sangat populer produk semacam kamaboko, yaitu bakso, sosis, otak-otak dan empek-empek.Bahan baku kamaboko yang 95% menggunakan alaska pollock ini populasinya terus menurun dari sekitar 6,5 juta ton pada akhir 1980-an menjadi hanya kurang dari 3 juta ton sejak tahun 2000. Kelangkaan suplai bahan baku ini mendorong naiknya harga alaska pollock , sehingga pemanfaatan spesies ikan yang baru dari ikan tropis dan pelagis dianggap sebagai alternatif baru untuk bahan baku baru. Di perairan Sorong (Papua Barat) dan sekitarnya sejak awal tahun 2006 telah terjadi kelimpahan hasil tangkapan ikan tuna yang berukuran dibawah 20 kg/ekor dari jenis ikan tuna ( yellowfin tuna) . Sedangkan ubi jalar maupun sagu merupakan bahan yang mudah dijumpai di Papua melimpah produksinya dan murah harganya. Sehingga baik ikan tuna maupun ubi jalat dan sagu ini berpotensi cukup besar dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku kamaboko, namun belum diketahui formulasi yang tepat dalam pembuatan kamaboko, maka perlu dilakukan penelitian terhadap formulasi yang tepat dalam pembuatan kamaboko dan pengaruh pemanfaatan ikan tuna daging putih, ubi jalar dan sagu terhadap sifat fisik, kimia dan organoleptik kamaboko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrase ikan tuna (daging putih), ubi jalar dan sagu yang sesuai untuk pembuatan kamaboko dan pengaruhnya ikan tuna (daging putih), ubi jalar dan sagu terhadap kandungan DHA, mikrostruktur dan ikatan gugus fungsional kamaboko.
Penelitian ini adalah pembuatan kamaboko dengan menggunakan bahan pengisi berupa campuran antara tepung ubi jalar (UJ) dan sagu (S) dengan berbagai proporsi campuran, dengan total campuran sebesar 10% dan ikan tuna sebesar 90% dari adonan. Proporsi campuran tepung (UJ : S) yang dikaji adalah 0 : 10 (K1), 2 : 8 (K2), 4 : 6 (K3), 6 : 4 (K4), 8 : 2 (K5), 10 : 0 (K6) yang disusun dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dilaksanakan 4 kali ulangan sehingga diperoleh 24 kombinasi perlakuan. Parameter yang diukur meliputi sifat fisiko-kimia yaitu kadar protein,kadar lemak, kadar air, kadar abu, kadar karbohidrat, WHC, tekstur, daya patah, warna (L*,a*,b*); organoleptik yaitu rasa, tekstur, aroma, kekompakan, warna dan kekenyalan. Kemudian dilanjutkan analisis kadar DHA, struktur mikromolekul dan ikatan gugus fungsional kamaboko terhadap perlakuan terbaik dari proporsi campuran tepung (UJ : S). Perbedaan antar perlakuan dianalisis dengan analisis sidik ragam. Bila terdapat perbedaan nyata dilakukan uji BNT taraf 1%.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kamaboko yang terbuat dari 90% ikan tuna dan 10% campuran tepung ubi jalar 6% : sagu 4% merupakan perlakuan terbaik berdasarkan sifat fisiko-kimia dan organoleptik. Kamaboko ini memiliki karakteristik kadar protein 19,40%; kadar lemak 0,19%: kadar air 69,64%; kadar abu 2,27%; kadar karbohidrat 6,08%; WHC 43,61%; tekstur 11,93.N/m; kecerahan (L ∗ ) 50,30; kemerahan (a ∗ ) 14,14; kekuningan (b ∗ ) 14,13; daya patah 7,83N/m: Skor rasa 4,81:skor tekstur 4,31; skor aroma 4,22; skor kekompakan 4,63; skor warna 4,85 ; skor kekenyalan 4,48. Kamaboko /perlakuan 90% ikan tuna dan 10% campuran tepung( ubi jalar 6% : sagu 4% /) (K4) mengandung 16 jenis asam lemak berdasarkan analisa yang menggunakan GC, dimana asam lemak dari jenis EPA kadarnya sebesar 3,3886% dan DHA kadarnya sebesar 20,4931%; hasil analisis SEM menunjukkan bahwa kamaboko menggambarkan struktur mikromolekul yang lebih halus, rata, menyatu dan kompak; analisis FTIR menunjukkan bahwapita serapan speKtrum FTIR yang terbentuk menggambarkan interaksi bahan dalam kamaboko adalah melalui ikatan hidrogen tertinggi, yaitu sebesar 12%
