Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Morphology and mechanical properties of polyketone/polyamide 6/maleated rubber blends
학위논문 (석사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 화학생물공학부, 2012. 8. 조재영.폴리케톤은 기계적 강도와 내충격성이 탁월하며 특히 내마모성, 내연료성, 내화학성, 기체차단성 등이 기존의 엔지니어링 플라스틱 대비 우수한 특성을 나타낸다. 폴리아마이드6는 가공성과 전반적인 기계적 물성 그리고 유기용매에 대한 안정성과 염색성 등이 우수한 엔지니어링 플라스틱이며 강인화제로 도입한 에틸렌 옥텐 코폴리머는 상들 사이에 계면 장력을 낮추기 위해 말레산 무수물이 그라프트된 변성고무이다. 고무가 도입된 대부분의 블렌드에서 충격강도의 증가는 두드러진 인장, 굴곡 물성의 감소를 수반하기 때문에 사용되는 고분자의 특성이 중요하다.
반응압출 과정을 통해 PK/PA6/mEOR 삼성분 블렌드는 PA6와 mEOR의 그라프트 코폴리머 생성과 PK와 PA6의 수소결합 상호작용으로 상용화제의 도입 없이도 고른 분산을 이루었다. 분자들의 상호작용은 DSC와 DMA와 FTIR로 확인 하였으며 SEM과 TEM으로 블렌드의 파단면을 관찰하여 연속상과 분산상을 확인하고 입자의 크기와 크기 분산, 구조를 분석하여 매트릭스의 특징과 상들 사이의 계면 특성과 블렌드의 모폴로지를 분석하여 기계적 물성 변화를 해석하려고 한다. 5 phr, 10 phr 첨가한 고무의 함량에 따라 인장과 굴곡 물성은 감소하였으며 충격강도는 블렌드 비율과 고무 함량으로 두드러진 향상이 관찰되었다.PK compared to existing engineering plastics is a polymer with barrier property, chemical and wear resistance and high impact strength. Because of processability, stability in organic solvents and good mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural properties, PA 6 is a high-performance engineering plastic which has applicability to overall industrial field. Maleated ethylene octene rubber as a toughening agent was introduced to lower the interfacial tension between the phases.
The mechanical behavior of rubber toughened plastics depends on the morphology of the blend, the characteristic of the rubber and matrix phases and interface between these phases. In the PK/PA6 blends, better tensile, and flexural properties were achieved when the content of PA6 increases. The addition of rubber provokes an enhancement of impact strength of PK/PA6/mEOR blend accompanied by a decrease in tensile and flexural properties. The morphology of blends is related to size, size distribution, and internal structure of particles. This paper aims to examine correlation between morphological and mechanical properties.요 약. ⅰ

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
