Dynamics of three-dimensional spatiotemporal solitons in multimode waveguides

    No full text
In this work, we present a detailed study of the dynamics and stability of fundamental spatiotemporal solitons emerging in multimode waveguides with a parabolic transverse profile of the linear refractive index. Pulsed beam propagation in these structures can be described by using a Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a two-dimensional parabolic spatial potential. Our investigations are based on comparing variational approaches, based on the Ritz optimization method, with extensive numerical simulations. We found that, with a Kerr self-focusing nonlinearity, spatiotemporal solitons are stable for low pulse energies, where our analytical results find a perfect agreement with the numerical simulations. However, solitons with progressively increasing energies eventually undergo wave collapse, which is not predicted within the variational framework. In a self-defocusing scenario, again for low energies there is good agreement between the variational predictions and simulations. Whereas, for large soliton energies complex spatiotemporal dynamics emerge

(Invited) Spatiotemporal soliton stability in multimode fibers. A Hamiltonian approach

    No full text
We introduce a Hamiltonian approach to study the stability of three-dimensional spatiotemporal solitons in graded-index multimode optical fibers. Nonlinear light bullet propagation in these fibers can be described by means of a Gross–Pitaevskii equation with a two-dimensional parabolic potential. We apply a variational approach, based on the Ritz optimization method, and compare its predictions with extensive numerical simulations. We analytically find that, in fibers with a pure Kerr self-focusing nonlinearity, spatiotemporal solitons are stable for low energies, in perfect agreement with numerical simulations. However, above a certain energy threshold, simulations reveal that the spatiotemporal solitons undergo wave collapse, which is not captured by the variational approach

Multimode resonance transition to collapsed snaking in normal dispersive Kerr cavities: bright versus dark solitons

    No full text
We study the dynamics of Kerr cavity solitons in the normal dispersion regime in the presence of an intracavity phase modulation. The associated parabolic potential introduces multimode resonances, which promote the formation of high-order bright solitons. By gradually reducing the potential strength, bright solitons undergo a transition into dark solitons. We describe this process as a shift from a multimode resonance to a collapsed snaking bifurcation structure. This work offers a comprehensive overview of cavity dynamics and may provide a potential pathway to access multi-stable states by effectively varying the phase modulation

The Utilization of Social Media for E-commece

    No full text
In recent years, the establishment and improvement of e-commerce and Internet platforms have been the development goals of various enterprises. At the same time, social media has gradually become an indispensable element in people's lives. So, this thesis mainly studies how companies should correctly use the huge attention and influence brought by social media to promote the continuous development of their e-commerce platforms. The first chapter explains in detail the core viewpoints and main research issues of this thesis. At the same time, the author also displays and analyzes the structure of the whole thesis, so that the logic of the whole thesis can be more clearly understood. The theoretical part is mainly divided into two parts: e-commerce and social media. In addition to their respective basic concepts and extended knowledge, the author also analyzed the relationship between the two and the advantages and disadvantages of e-commerce platforms using social media for promotion. In the empirical research part, the author selected the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Qingshan Sub-branch as the inspection object, and carried out investigation and analysis around its e-commerce platform "RONG e GOU". This paper adopts both quantitative and qualitative analysis, the purpose is to be able to formulate the results more reliable and effective. The author specifically uses two methods of platform user questionnaire and company management interview to conduct research and study. At the end, the author analyzes in detail how the company uses social media to promote the e-commerce platform in general, and proposes a more targeted solution for the company. According to the results of the interviews with the company’s management and the questionnaires on the platform ’s customers, it is necessary for the company to make more innovations and trials in the use of social media, that is, to use a variety of social media for its own Platform for promotion. At the same time, the platform's own management system and regulations also need to be optimized, such as appropriately lowering the barriers to entry for shops and strengthening after-sales service capabilities

Transitional dynamics of collapsed snaking to multiple resonances in Kerr cavities with parabolic potential: dark and bright solitons

    No full text
We investigate the dynamics of Kerr cavity solitons in the normal dispersion regime, under the influence of intracavity phase modulation. When increasing the strength of the parabolic phase modulation, dark solitons undergo a transformative shift into high-order bright solitons. We characterize this phenomenon and show that it is associated with a transition from a collapsed snaking bifurcation structure for dark solitons, to a multimode resonance structure for the high-order bright solitons case. This study may offer a comprehensive exploration of cavity dynamics, unveiling an avenue to access new multi-stable states by controlling the phase modulation

Following states in temperature in the spherical s + p-spin glass model

    No full text
In many mean-field glassy systems, the low-temperature Gibbs measure is dominated by exponentially many metastable states. We analyze the evolution of the metastable states as temperature changes adiabatically in the solvable case of the spherical s + p-spin glass model, extending the work of Barrat et al (1997 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 30 5593). We confirm the presence of level crossings, bifurcations, and temperature chaos. For the states that are at equilibrium close to the so-called dynamical temperature Td, we find, however, that the following state method (and the dynamical solution of the model as well) is intrinsically limited by the vanishing of solutions with non-zero overlap at low temperature

A photograph depicting visitors from the Sun Yat-Sen University(Zhongshan University) in Guangzhou, China to Springfield College. Visitors appear holding gifts in the picture. The photograph was taken in an office in Dean Malvina Rau’s office on October, 1997. This first visit occurred after an agreement was signed in 1996 between Springfield College (SC) and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) to provide training in sports medicine and conditioning and fitness, exchange of scholars and students from both schools. Standing in the picture left to right we can recognize: Hong Shi (Associate Dean, School of Education, SYSU), Yifan Su (Deputy Secretary, SYSU), Malvina T. Rau (Academic Dean and Provost, SC), Si Li (Associate director, PE Department, SYSU). Mr. Shi and Mr. Su appear holding gifts in the photograph. Notice the Native American painting in the background.
