Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Efek Pemberian Deltamethrin Terhadap Ekspresi Cd4 Dan Cd8 Pada Ikan Koi (Cyprinus Carpio) Yang Terinfeksi Myxobolus Sp.
Full text linkIkan koi (Cyprinus carpio) merupakan jenis ikan hias air tawar yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi, baik di pasar nasional maupun internasional. Tingginya permintaan pasar menyebabkan meningkatnya budidaya ikan air tawar. Keberhasilan dalam kegiatan budidaya ikan air tawar untuk menghasilkan ikan yang mempunyai daya jual yang tinggi masih sangat rendah. Hal ini disebabkan kurang tersedianya benih ikan yang memadai baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Ikan yang baik secara kualitas adalah yang tahan terhadap serangan penyakit dan tahan terhadap perubahan kualitas air. Lingkungan air yang mengalami penurunan kualitas akan mengakibatkan aktifitas agen penyebab penyakit meningkat sehingga ikan mudah terserang penyakit. Salah satunya yang disebabkan oleh infeksi Myxobolus sp.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis manfaat pemberian deltamethrin terhadap ekspresi CD4 dan CD8 sebagai respon anti-inflmasi akibat infeksi Myxobolus sp. pada ikan Koi (Cyprinus carpio). Penelitian ini akan berlangsung selama kurang lebih 4 bulan (Oktober-Desember) dan akan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Bioteknologi Perairan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan serta Laboratorium Sentral Ilmu Hayati, Universitas Brawijaya.
Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode ekspreimen, dengan memberikan perlakuan deltamethrin pada ikan Koi (Cyprinus carpio) yang terinfeksi Myxobolus sp. Dosis deltamethrin yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah 1 μl/g pakan, 0,5 μl/g pakan dan 1,5 μl/g pakan dengan membagi ke dalam 8 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Sampel ikan Koi (Cyprinus carpio) terinfeksi Myxobolus sp. didapatkan dari salah satu kelompok tani yang ada di Kabupaten Blitar. Pengambilan sampel darah ikandilakukan pada hari terakhir penelitian. Status hematologi yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah eritrosit dan leukosit. Untuk uji respon imun yang terukur diamati dengan metode Imunohistochemistry (IHC) menggunan antibodi primer antimouse CD4 dan CD8 dan antibodi sekunder antimouse IgG conjugate. Kemudian menganalisis menggunakan software ImunoRatio. Analisa data yang digunakan menggunakan cara statistik yaitu analisa keragaman (ANOVA), yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan pemberian perlakuan.
Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan Gambaran profil protein usus ikan koi (C. carpio) yang terinfeksi Myxobolus sp. menunjukkan bahwa berat molekul dalam penelitian ini adalah 66,2 kDa, 46,1 kDa, 43,7 kDa, 38,5 kDa, 36 kDa, 30,6 kDa dan 26,2 kDa. Hasil Rata – rata eritrosit pada setiap perlakuan yaitu pada K+ yakni 1840000 sel/mm3, K- sebesar 570000 sel/mm3, PA1 sebesar 1143333 sel/mm3, PA2 sebesar 1663333 sel/mm3, PA3 sebesar 853333sel/mm3, PB1 sebesar 926667 sel/mm3, PB2 sebesar 875000sel/mm3, PB3 sebesar 750000 sel/mm3. Rata – rata leukosit pada K+ sebesar 389200 sel/mm3, K- sebesar 31717 sel/mm3, PA1 sebesar 256217 sel/mm3, PA2 sebesar 125040 sel/mm3, PA3 sebesar 330000 sel/mm3, PB1 sebesar 292247 sel/mm3, PB2 sebesar 159190 sel/mm3, PB3 sebesar 318471 sel/mm3. Selanjutnya hasil IHK untuk ekspresi CD4 pada setiap perlakuan menunjukkan hasil rata-rata DAB pada perlakuan K+ adalah

sebesar 47,8%, Perlakuan PA1 sebesar 41,76%, perlakuan PA2 sebesar 21,83%, perlakuan PA3 sebesar 30,7%, perlakuan PB1 sebesar 11,5%, perlakuan PB2 sebesar 15% dan perlakuan PB3 sebesar 15,9%.Sedangkan untuk hasil ekspresi CD8 rata-rata nilai DAB pada setiap perlakuan yaitu K+ sebesar 55,5%, perlakuan 2 sebesar 42,7 %, perlakuan 3 sebesar 28,06%, perlakuan 4 sebesar 5,43%, perlakuan 5 sebesar 7,93% dan pada perlakuan 6 sebesar 12,63%.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa deltamethrin yang diberikan memberikan pengaruh terhadap ekspresi CD4 dan CD8 pada ikan Koi (Cyprinus carpio). Berdasarkan analisa Imunohistokimia, pemberian deltamethrin perlakuan PA2 (dengan pemberian deltamethrin dengan dosis 1 μl/g pakan) merupakan perlakuan yang terbaik. Pengaruh deltamethrin dapat dilihat dengan menurunnya nilai DAB pada perlakuan yang menandakan bahwa tingkat infeksi dari Myxobolus sp. dapat diatasi

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
