The suggested approach is based on two key concepts; class-based term weighting and changing the orthogonality of vector space. A class-based term weighting methodology is used for transformation of documents from the original space to the feature space. This class-based weighting basically groups terms based on their importance for each class and consequently smooths the representation of documents. This is accomplished by changing the orthogonality of the Vector Space Model (VSM) with introducing class-based dependencies between terms. As a result, on the extreme case, two documents can be seen as similar even if they do not share any terms but their terms are similarly weighted for a particular class. The resulting semantic kernel can directly make use of class information in extracting semantic information between terms, therefore it can be considered as a supervised kernel. For our experimental evaluation, we analyze the performance of the suggested kernel with a large number of experiments on benchmark textual datasets and present results with respect to varying experimental conditions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to use class-based term weighting in order to build a supervised semantic kernel for SVM. We compare our results with kernels that are commonly used in SVM such as linear kernel, polynomial kernel, Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel and with several corpus-based semantic kernels. According to our experimental results the proposed method favorably improves classification accuracy over linear kernel and several corpus-based semantic kernels in terms of both accuracy and speed
VIBRATIONAL SPECTRA OF THE MLCl COMPLEX FROM THEORETICAL CALCULATIONS
Author Institution: Department of Physics, Mustafa Kemal University, Hatay, Turkey, 31034 (email to B.C.: [email protected])The geometric and vibrational parameters (harmonic and anharmonic frequencies) of the MLCl [M= Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg; L= Ethylenediamine (en)] donor-acceptor complexes have been studied by using HF and MPW1PW91+iop(3/76=00572004280)/gen methods. Binding, reorganization, atomization, HOMO-LUMO and ionization potential energies have also been calculated with the same method. SQM calculations have been performed by using anharmonic frequencies and experimental data. The obtained results were found to be in good agreement with the corresponding experimental findings
Assessment of normal fetal cortical sulcus development
Objective The aim of our study was to investigate the normal cortical sulcus development in fetuses without central nervous system abnormality with transabdominal ultrasonography. Methods Our study was planned as a cross-sectional study in our clinic between November 2011 and October 2012. The study group was selected among pregnant women who applied to our hospital for routine antenatal follow-up. Singleton pregnancies, between 15th and 32nd gestational weeks, were included in the study. During the routine fetal ultrasonographic examination of these pregnant women, sylvian sulcus, parietooccipital sulcus, calcarine sulcus, and cingulate sulcus length measurements were taken and the correlation of these values with gestational week was evaluated. Results Three hundred and thirty-two patients were included in the study. Sylvian sulcus length, parietooccipital sulcus length, calcarine sulcus length, and cingulate sulcus length could be first measured respectively, at 15th, 17th, 17th and 25th gestational week. We found a positive correlation between gestational age and sylvian sulcus, parietooccipital sulcus, calcarine sulcus, and cingulate sulcus length measurements (p < 0.001). Conclusion Sulcal development and cortical maturation can be evaluated prenatally with transabdominal ultrasonography of the central nervous system
Quasi-greedy bases for sequences with gaps
In this paper, we establish new results in the theory started by T. Oikhberg in Oikhberg (2018) where the author joins greedy approximation theory with the use of sequences with gaps. Concretely, we study and provide some answers to three open questions related to quasi-greedy bases for sequences with gaps posed in Oikhberg (2018)[Section 6].Fil: Berasategui, Miguel Hernán.
Social security, arose with industrial revolution, is seen as a fact that is regarded for social state. However, all countries have problems about social security systems that are nearly similar to each others. When it is looked generally, the reasons why countries cannot make effective the social security systems are stated as; members as part of social security, while they are trying to minimize the cost that is a necessity for utilizing it,their demands about utilizing the service on maximum level, the negative effects of population that is becoming older on active/passive and dependence percents, increasing of the cost of sanitary service because of the technological improvements, unsatisfaction of actuerial balance ,the absense of measurements on informal employment or the defects on application of the measurements that are found. Countries are bound to make radical changes or modulation to overcome these problems about system. The most performed reform is increased the age of retirement, the percent of insurance premium and the length of insurance. The radical changes are the exchange of retirement system and including the state to the system. The social security system is carried out with insurance premium and without insurance premium. Social Security Instituate,Retirement Fund Instituate and Social Security Organization for Artisans and the Self-Employed were associations that were carried out the insurance premium regime until nowadays in our country. But, there are serios problems on the cost increasing in sanitary service, unsatisfaction of norm and standart information tranfer among instituates, the absense of self-administration of these instituates on financial and executive subjects, in parallel with financing, early retirement, unsatisfaction of preventing the informal employment, the low percent of premium and technological advancements. For the solutions of these problems, some offers and precautions are stated in BYK plans and some application are done, and some reform proposals are stated by International Labour Office.Furthermore,TÜSİAD, social groups and MÜSİAD sometimes offer some alternatives on solutions of these problems. The chaos of social security is tried to overcome by Law No 5502, gathering social security instutiates in a framework of a roof, Law No 5510 and changing on this by Law No 5754. By this reform, problems, stated above, are tried to overcome. However, there are some negatives sides of this reform like the reduction of some rights of members, increase in their obligations;contrary to some positive sides. Geological spatial based modelling for economic imperatives in preliminary site investigation
The alignment and general layout of the transportation corridors in the natural landscape have a major influence on slope, geology, environmental effects, resource consumption, and structural engineering costs. Transportation infrastructure is also strongly related to a number of sustainability concerns of primary policy relevance. Planners and engineers can use urban geology's information on urban geologic environments as a scientific foundation for proper land use planning and transportation development. Such mapping can be categorized according to its scale, content, and purpose. This study uses Istanbul's engineering geological mapping process as a case study. The Geographic Information System (GIS) was used to build the input layers (slope, topography, and lithology), which were then integrated to create engineering geological maps. A suitability map is used to display the results. The study area was thus divided into two categories: favorable and unfavorable. A spatial representation of intricate geological systems is provided by these segmentations. This study aimed to demonstrate a more thorough investigation of the target region in order to assess the imperatives that need the selection of places for building. Site-specific research, including in-situ and laboratory tests, should expand on the findings of this study in order to determine the necessary parameters for the constructions of greater significance
Effect of a Single Application of CPP-ACPF Varnish on the Prevention of Erosive Tooth Wear: An AAS, AFM and SMH Study
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the in vitro effect of casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) and fluoride-containing varnish on prevention enamel erosive tooth wear. Materials and Methods: A total of 28 enamel samples were prepared from human molars, divided into four groups: CPP-ACPF varnish, TCP-F varnish, NaF varnish, and deionised water. For the remineralisation process stimulated human pooled saliva was used. After treatment, all enamel samples were exposed to 10 ml of Coca Cola. Ca++ release was determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). The surface topography was evaluated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). Surface microhardness of enamel was analysed and SMHR % (surface microhardness reduction ) was calculated. Data were analysed with repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: Deionised water demonstrated a statistically significantly higher Ca+2 release compared to those of groups NaF > fTCP > CPP-ACPF, respectively (p <0.01). All groups measured for root-mean-square-roughness (Rrms) showed a statistically significantly difference of 6 x 6 mu m(2) and 12 x 12 mu m(2) enamel area (p <0.05) compared with a negative control group. CPP-ACPF varnish showed rougher surfaces than all remineralisation groups. SMHR % of enamels were as follows: CPP-ACPF < fTCP < NaF < deionised water (p <0.01). Conclusion: According to the findings of this study; CPP-ACP containing agents have a statistically statistically significant effect on preventing dental erosion. Among these, CPP-ACPF-containing remineralisation agents have the most effect on the remineralisation process
Unusual uterine metastasis of invasive ductal carcinoma: A case report
Metastatic carcinoma of the uterus usually originates from other genital sites. Extragenital metastases such as breast are rare. A woman aged 34 years with a history of breast cancer was referred to the gynecology outpatient clinic for routine follow-up. Diagnostic tests and gynecologic examination revealed a uterine mass, which was removed with laparotomy. The pathologic investigation revealed metastasis of invasive lobular breast cancer. Chemotherapy was given and the patient has been under follow-up for 3 years with normal imaging on computerized tomographic examination and positron-emission tomography-computerized tomographic. It should be kept in mind that patients with breast cancer who have received tamoxifen may develop primary endometrial cancers, and may also demonstrate uterine metastases. With successful treatment these patients can obtain dis-ease-free survival
Halophilic Bacteria Species in Fishery Products and Industrial Applications
Halofilik bakteriler tuza ihtiyaçları açısından tuza tolerans gösteren ve aşırı tuzu seven gibi çeşitli gruplara ayrılmaktadır. Tuzu seven aşırı halofilik Halococcus ve Halobacterium cinslerine ait bakteriler tuzlanmış balık ürünlerinde gelişerek pembe renkli bozulmalara neden olabilmektedir. Halofilik bakterilerin tuzlanmış balık ürünlerinde gelişerek kalite kaybına neden olmasının engellenmesi halofilik bakterilerin işlenmiş balık ürünlerinde gelişimini engelleyecek metotların uygulanması ve sonrasında kontrolü ile sağlanabilir. Üretim aşamasında kaliteli tuzların kullanılması, üretim ve depolama esnasında sıcaklık yükselmelerinden kaçınılması, balık ürünlerinin paketlenmesi, paketlenmiş balık ürünlerinin depolama esnasında hasar görmelerinin engellenmesi gibi halofilik bakterilerin balık ürünlerine bulaşma ve gelişiminin engellenmesine yönelik yöntemlerin uygulanması gerekmektedir. Aşırı tuzu seven ve tuza tolerans gösteren halofilik bakterilerin diğer bakterilere kıyasla sahip oldukları özellikleri nedeniyle çok sayıda avantajları da bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle halofilik bakteriler endüstriyel birçok alanda (gıda, biyoteknoloji, kimya, tıp, kozmetik, tekstil, tarım, çevre vb.) kullanılmaktadır. Her geçen gün gelişen teknoloji sayesinde halofilik bakterilerin sahip oldukları avantajlardan yararlanılarak farklı alanlarda kullanımına yönelik yapılacak çalışmaların ve endüstriyel kullanım alanlarının ileride daha da arttacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle derleme çalışmasında halofilik bakteri türleri, denizlerden, tuz göllerinden, tuzlardan, tuzlanmış ve fermente balık ürünlerinden izole edilen halofilik bakteriler, tuz, tuzlanmış ve fermente balık ürünleri tüketiminin insan sağlığına etkileri, tuzu seven ve tuza tolerans gösteren bakterilerin inhibisyonu, probiyotik etkileri, fonksiyonel yeni ürünlerin geliştirilmesinde kullanılması ve endüstriyel alanda kullanımları konularında yapılmış çeşitli çalışmalara değinilmiştir.Halofilic bacteria have been divided into different groups according to salt requirements such as halotolerant and extreme halophiles etc. This type of halophilic bacteria such as Halococcus ve Halobacterium can be caused pink spoilage on the surface of the processed salted fishery products. the growth of halophilic bacteria in processed fishery products can be prevented by using effective methods and control systems. the methods avoiding contamination and growth of bacteria are necessary to be applied such as usage of high quality salt in production, avoidance of temperaturerise in production and storage periods, packaging fishery products, prevention of damage to package of fishery products in the storage. Extreme halophilic and halotolerant bacteria have some special characteristics when compared with other type of microorganisms. For this reason, halophilic bacteria can be used for different industrial applications (food, biotechnology, chemical, medicine, cosmetic, textile, agriculture, environment etc.) in accordance with the development of technology, it is believed that the studies done about usage of halophilic bacteria in different areas and industrial applications will be increased in the future.
