Nipah (Nypa fructicans) is a species of the Palmae family which grows on swampy areas, coastal mid along bankriver. It is commonly known that the tree is able to produce so called nira (fruits) which can be used for sweety material. The utilization and development of wild nypa forest as sweety material has been done by PT Milatronika Karya Nypah Indonesia in Sponti Jaya nypa forest, Sub District of Batu Ampar, Pontianak. In order to produce some amount of nira from nypa, tending and special care particularly to the fruit stems are required. The nira processed into redish sugar, ant sugar, cristle sugar, acid and fresh drinking water is obtained through cutting of the fruit stem. The red fructosa of nira has a composition as follows : sucrose 83, 67 %, reduction sugar2.72 %, total sugar 90,57 %, carbon 4,57 % and The rest in the form of parfume (nipa specific).the other benefits of nypa forest utilization are to create employment and regional development

Oleh karenanya, deteksi dini perlu dilakukan bagi masyarakat yang memiliki risiko tinggi terkena kanker kolorektal sehingga bisa dapat dilakukan terapi kuratif./ Colorectal cancer is a malignant tumor that arises from the epithelial tissue of the colon or rectum. The colon is divided into four parts, the ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon and sigmoid colon. The Global Cancer Observatory noted in 2020 there were 1.931.590 new cases of colorectal cancer that occurred worldwide and was ranked 3rd off all existing malignancies. In Indonesia, colorectal cancer is ranked fourth after breast cancer, cervical cancer and lung cancer with the addition number of new cases in 2020 reaching 34,189 cases and with the number of deaths reaching 17,786 cases at all ages. This study was conducted to determine the profile of colorectal cancer patients. This study was conducted using a total sampling technique by tracing the Anatomic Pathology archives at the MRCCC Siloam Semanggi Hospital in 2018 to 2020. Of the total 88 patients who fit the inclusion criteria, the largest age group was aged 60 to 69 years with a total of 29 patients (33.0% ).Patient with male sex were found to be more than women with a total of 46 patients (52.3%). The most common stage found was stage 3 with 39 patients (44.3%) with the highest grading being moderately differentiated with 46 patients (52.3%). The most common location of cancer is in the rectum that found in 35 patients (39.8%). Based on the histopathological description, there were 70 patients (79.5%) who had adenocarcinoma. Therefore, early detection needs to be done for people who have high risk off colorectal cancer so that curative therapy can be carried out

An investigation  or  the  effect  of  skidding   to  residual  stand  damage  on  several  slope  degrees  has  been  done  at PT Sumpol Timber  in South  Kalimantan in 1987.  The purpose  of  this investigation  is to seek  information   on the residual stand  damage  caused  by  skidding   on  several slope  degrees.  The  investigation   took  place  in three  different  slope  degrees: i.e.:  0  -  20  %, 20 - 40  %, and > 40%.  Sample  plots  were selected with  completely randomized   design. Results  of  this investigation  are concluded  as follows   : • Skidding has caused part  of  the  residual stand  to damage. • The  residual  stand  damage  caused  by  skidding   ranges from 10  Trees/ha to 70 trees/ha  (from 6 % to 29  %)  with an average of 30  trees/ha  (15%) with  standard  error of  3,60   trees/ha. •  The  residual stand  damage caused   by skidding  on  :              a. 0 - 20 % slope  ranges from 10  trees/ha  to 50  trees/ha (6 – 18%) with an average of 23,3  trees/ha  (11 %).              b. 20 - 40  % slope  ranges  from  10  trees/ha  to  70 trees/ha  with  an average of  30  trees/ha  (15 %).               c.Greater  than 40  %  slope  ranges from  20  trees/ha  to  70 trees/ha   (from 10 % to 29 %) with an average of 38 trees/ha (19 %). • The  result  of  Least  Significant   Difference   (LSD) test  on  the  data  revealed  that  the residual stand  damage  between 0 - 20% and > 40%  slope  differs  significantly at 95% level.    The higher the slope degree the greater the residual stand damage took  place. It  is therefore  sugessted  that  skidding  on 40  % slope  degree  or more  be done  with  great  care in order  to decrease  the residual stand  damag

Measuring the volume of logs which have been rafted on the rivers is very difficult. The difficulty is mostly in measuring the average top and bottom diameters of logs because the largest portion of logs are inside the water. In this paper, the results of measurements carried out both on the ground and in the river are described. Lately, log measurement in the river is necessary because: a. Volume of logs sent to industries would be measured in the river. b. Many logs of the illegal cutting found are rafted in the river. The observation reveals that : 1. Volumes of logs measured on the ground and in the river are significantly different. 2. From the sample of 60 logs of Dryobalanops spp. it is found that the total volume measured on the ground is 273,18 m3, while the total volume measured in the river is 262, 76 m3. The total difference is 10,42 m3 or 0,04 m3 per_m3 in average. 3. the correction factor (FK) then is 0,04 m3 per m3 or 3,81 %. It means that the volume of log measured in the river is smaller than the volume Measured on the ground. Therefore, the volume measured in the river should be multiplied with the correction factor of 1.04 to obtain the real volume as measured on the ground
