Adalbert Stifter and his relation to the Czech Bohemian forest
Adalbert Stifter´s works are connected with his home and origin. The nature of South Bohemia and the Bohemian Forest are not only local but historical elements of his works. His realism does not only describe but also critically portrays life of the people living in this surrounding. An analysis will be done on the basis of three tales: Der Hochwald, Der beschriebene Tännling and Der Waldgänger. The analysis literary processes the plot and life in the Bohemian Forest. The first part focuses on selected works and their connection to the life of the author. It summarizes his life from his youth to his early adulthood. The second part deals with the belief in God which is an important element of Stifter´s works. The third part focuses on author´s criticism of people´s treatment of nature. This bachelor thesis will be written in Czech

Comments on the Chartres text, with a special attention on vowel-final forms
David Stifter focusses his study on the loss of final -s-, a phenomenon which he has studied in previous studies. For the personal names with final -o in the second list, he suggests a dative singular (as in Latin) or an accusative singular, those with final -i being dative or accusative singular feminine. Forms in -us might be gamonyms, as in the Larzac tablet. Duti so adogarie is analysed as a verbal complex with infixation of a connecting particle (e)ti, and of a pronoun so, between the first preverb (du) and the other preverbs (ad-(u)o-), followed by a conjugated form with a reduced ending (= conjunct).David Stifter analyse plus particulièrement la chute de -s-, car il a déjà étudié ce phénomène de façon approfondie pour la langue gauloise. Duti so adogarie
Stifter and romanticism. Analysis of Adalbert Stifter´s personal correspondence with Fanny Greipl and Amalia Stifter
This bachelor thesis deals with the life and work of the writer Adalbert Stifter. The theoretical part summarizes the author's life from his birth until his death, historic preservation of his legacy and information about his literary work inspired by his birthplace Horní Planá, Šumava, its landscape and inhabitants. Further there is also a commentary on biedermeier and romanticism that is obvious in his personal life. The practical part is constituted by the amorous correspondence between Stifter and his first love Fany and his wife Amalie. The aim was to translate the correspondence from German language into Czech because this correspondence has been published in German only. On the basis of the correspondence there is shown the Stifter's psyche, his relationship with fatal women and the influence on the artistic work
Characterization of contour elements that generate abstract Voronoi diagrams
AbstractIn this paper we bring two concepts of generalizations of Voronoi diagrams together: the concept of abstract Voronoi diagrams invented by R. Klein in 1988 and the concept of axiomatic Voronoi diagrams invented in the same year by S. Stifter. While the concept of abstract Voronoi diagrams characterizes Voronoi diagrams by the set of bisecting curves, the concept of axiomatic Voronoi diagrams gives a characterization of the contour elements (from which bisectors are constructed). We show that “admissible” contour elements for the axiomatic approach generate “admissible” bisecting curves for the abstract approach. This especially entails that everything that is true for abstract Voronoi diagrams is also true for axiomatic Voronoi diagrams

Player agency in interactive narrative: audience, actor & author
The question motivating this review paper is, how can
computer-based interactive narrative be used as a constructivist learn-
ing activity? The paper proposes that player agency can be used to
link interactive narrative to learner agency in constructivist theory,
and to classify approaches to interactive narrative. The traditional
question driving research in interactive narrative is, ‘how can an in-
teractive narrative deal with a high degree of player agency, while
maintaining a coherent and well-formed narrative?’ This question
derives from an Aristotelian approach to interactive narrative that,
as the question shows, is inherently antagonistic to player agency.
Within this approach, player agency must be restricted and manip-
ulated to maintain the narrative. Two alternative approaches based
on Brecht’s Epic Theatre and Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed are
reviewed. If a Boalian approach to interactive narrative is taken the
conflict between narrative and player agency dissolves. The question
that emerges from this approach is quite different from the traditional
question above, and presents a more useful approach to applying in-
teractive narrative as a constructivist learning activity
The transformation of Adalbert Stifter`s mother land from 1945 by today.
The topic of the thesis is a description of the Adalbert Stifter´s land changes since 1945 by present. It is not only a physical transformation of the land which is focused here but also cultural, social, ecological, economical, demographical and sociologic changes. From the view of the regions, the thesis deals with five most important towns: Horní Planá (Oberplan), Černá v Pošumaví (Schwarzbach), Frymburk (Friedberg), Lipno nad Vltavou (Lippen) and Přední Výtoň (Herrauffl). Other places are mentioned marginally due to the extent of the thesis. The first chapter reminds the most famous native Adalbert Stifter. A special attention is payed to the artist´s relation to his native land and his humane Europeanish attitudes. the second chapter deals with the local Sudet Germans´ transfer after the end of the WWII and the situation in the land by 1948. The third chapter is very short, it describes a short period after 1948 and from the view of time it overlaps with the following chapter partly. There is the building of the Lipno dam in the fourth chapter and all the changes of the land which relate to it. In the last, fifth chapter, there is a description of the villages development after 1989. The german natives relations reunion is focused in this chapter as well as the cultural and social life, turism and the perspectives of the land for the future. Many sources have been used for making the thesis, information are from people who remember the events, local chronicles, Czech and German literature
Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)
This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
