On the Tenability of Axiological Relativism
The aim of the paper is to assess the tenability of two classical arguments for axiological relativism elaborated by Sextus Empiricus and Blaise Pascal. Sextus’ argument is an a priori proof; Pascal’s argument is an a posteriori proof. Sextus’ argument does not rely on any empirical (or factual) belief: it relies on the possibility of conflicting axiological judgements; on the contrary, Pascal’s argument does rely on the empirical (or factual) belief that conflicting axiological judgements have in fact been held in the history of human kind and that no agreement has been attained
La revisione delle norme sulla revisione costituzionale. Un'analisi filosofica
The paper concerns the limits to normative constitutional power in general; a particular case of limit to normative constitutional power is the application of the norms on constitutional review to themselves. In the first place, the possibility and legitimacy of limits to constitutional review will be investigated; in the second place, the alleged puzzle of constitutional review will be analysed; in the third place, a distinction between linguistic self-reference and self-application will be made
The Argument of the Oasis. A Study on Epistemic Errors

Costituzione dell'antinomia.
The Value of Truth/The Truth of Value. Proceedings of the International Seminar Nomologics 1. Pavia, Residenza Golgi, 14th-16th July 2011
This book concerns the relationship between truth and value in philosophy of law, ethics, deontics. It presents fourteen new essays by eminent scholars (among which John Searle, Amedeo G. Conte, Roberta De Monticelli, Matjaz Potrc). Most of these contributions were presented at the International Seminar Nomologics 1, organized by Stefano Colloca and Paolo Di Lucia at the Residenza Golgi in Pavia. The main problem areas investigated are these: the problem of the relationship between judgements concerning truth and judgements concerning values; the problem of the truth-value of axiological judgements
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
