Research in Concurrent Software Testing: A Systematic Review
No full textThe current increased demand for distributed applications in domains such as web services and cloud computing has significantly increased interest in concurrent programming. This demand in turn has resulted in new testing methodologies for such systems, which take account of the challenges necessary to test these applications. This paper presents a systematic review of the published research related to concurrent testing approaches, bug classification and testing tools. A systematic review is a process of collection, assessment and interpretation of the published papers related to a specific search question, designed to provide a background for further research. A comparative study of form and theology in the works of Flannery O'Connor and Simone Weil
No full textIn this comparative study of the form and theology of Flannery O'Connor and Simone Weil I interrogate how Weil's philosophical writings and her theology illuminate O'Connor's use of both narrative and non-fictional forms, and her Catholicism. The Introduction analyses how Weil's concept of superposed reading provides a new method of approaching both O'Connor, her writings, and O'Connor
studies, and focuses on how such apparently different women interconnect. Chapter One explores how both Weil and O'Connor attempt to write their theologies on the
souls of their readers yet are each subject to constraints imposed by form. Weil's concept of locating equilibrium between incommensurates is discussed, and her
distinctively philosophical approach to fictions and fictionality is used to investigate O'Connor's notion of prophetic fictions and the writer's role. Chapter Two assesses how both writers revivify Christian paradoxes. Weil's monstrous concept of affiiction, and O'Connor's use of the grotesque genre to jolt secular man into an
awareness of the sacred are scrutinised. Chapter Three studies how both writers consider an encounter between God and man is possible through the action of grace. My Conclusion interrogates how Weil's work can deepen our understanding of O'Connor's writings, and examines how successful O'Connor is at realising a truly
Christian literature. I conclude that despite being a writer of powerful fictions, O'Connor can not be totally successful in her mission as writer-prophet because

Programa de Pós-graduação em HistóriaPublicado em 1949 na França, O Segundo Sexo passou a ser uma das obras pioneiras dos estudos sobre as mulheres e das relações de gênero, sendo referência para os feminismos principalmente a partir dos anos 60 e 70. Nesta obra, ao analisar minuciosamente a "condição da mulher" na sociedade, Beauvoir compreendeu que a "figura feminina" e as posturas que lhes são atribuídas nada mais são do que construções do social produzidas ao longo da história. Partindo de uma história da leitura de O Segundo Sexo, informada pelas narrativas e pelas obras de divulgação das feministas brasileiras, este trabalho busca refletir sobre as possíveis ressonâncias que o texto de Simone de Beauvoir teria produzido no feminismo nacional. Published in 1949 in France, The Second Sex became one of the pioneer works of the studies on the women and of the gender relations, being mainly reference for the feminisms starting from the sixties and seventies. In this work, when analyzing the "woman's condition" minutely in the society, Beauvoir understood that the "feminine figure" and the postures that are attributed to them are nothing more than constructions of the social produced along the history. Leaving of a history of the reading of The Second Sex, informed by the narratives and for the works of the Brazilian feminists, this work intends to reflect about the possible resonances that the text of Simone de Beauvoir would have produced in the national feminism

Programa de Pós-Graduação em LiteraturaUma proposta de leitura, Costurando um tempo no outro: vozes femininas tecendo memórias no romance de Conceição Evaristo, de dois romances que contam, através da narrativa ficcional, histórias de mulheres negras, homens, crianças e velhos que almejam melhorar de vida, mesmo diante das dificuldades, constitui objeto de estudo do presente trabalho. Refiro-me às obras: Ponciá Vicêncio e Becos da memória, da escritora Maria Conceição Evaristo de Brito, publicadas, respectivamente, em 2003 e 2006. A relação que a escritora estabelece entre a ficção e a História se evidencia na medida em que vai tecendo os fios da teia narrativa ao costurar um tempo no outro, passado, presente e o futuro, configurando-se como uma ressignificação de si e de memórias coletivas, esta recompondo o passado. Por meio das personagens, Evaristo vai construindo outra representação de identidade afro-brasileira, rasurando, com isso, imagens depreciativas que deturparam, sobretudo, as mulheres negras. Além do mais, sob a perspectiva ficcional, Conceição Evaristo traz para o bojo da discussão o preconceito, a discriminação, além de elementos religiosos e históricos que ajudam a compor o enredo dos romances, ampliando a proximidade entre o histórico e o ficcional. Mas se Conceição Evaristo delineia um olhar outro sobre a figura da mulher negra na sociedade, forjando, por meio da escrita, uma outra construção identitária desatrelada de representação depreciativa, então, como são representadas as personagens femininas negras na escrita da autora, uma vez que fogem da representação de submissas, inferiores, ou, ainda, de objeto de prazer? Partindo dessa indagação e dentro do que se propõe este estudo, pretende-se ainda demonstrar, através das representações das personagens femininas negras, algumas características que lhes são próprias, seja a partir de um olhar acerca de suas trajetórias de vida, da condição de vida e das relações sociais, sobretudo, das personagens protagonistas femininas. Portanto, este estudo foi organizado, conforme a linha de pesquisa Literatura e Mulher, a partir dos estudos feministas e de gênero. O presente trabalho caminhará por essas pegadas-pistas do passado e do presenteCosturando um tempo no outro: vozes femininas tecendo memórias no romance de Conceição Evaristo s.agit d.une proposition de lecture de deux romans qui racontent, par le moyen du récit de fiction, des histoires de femmes noires, d.hommes, d.enfants et de vieillards, qui désirent ardemment améliorer les conditions de leurs vies même devant de grandes difficultés. Ce sujet, alors, constitue l.objet de ce travail. Je me rapporte aux deux oeuvres: Ponciá Vicêncio et Becos da memória, de Maria Conceição Evaristo de Brito, publiées, respectivement, en 2003 et 2006. Le rapport entre la fiction et l.Histoire reste évident au fur et à mesure que l.auteur va progressivement tissant les fils de la toile narrative en réalisant une couture d.un temps dans un autre temps, soit, le passé, le présent et le futur, ce que se configure comme une autre signification de soi-même et des mémoires collectives, celles-là qui recomposent le passé. Par les personnages, Evaristo construit graduellement une autre représentation de l.identité afro-brésilienne, en effaçant, de cette manière, des images dépreciatives qui dénaturent, surtout, les femmes noires. En plus, dans une perspective fictionnelle, Conceição Evaristo apporte au centre de la discussion le préjugé, la discrimination et aussi des éléments religieux et historiques qui aident à composer l.intrigue des romans en grandissant la proximité entre les apects historique et fictionnel. Ce procédé éveille la question suivante: si Conceição délinée un autre regard sur la figure de la femme noire dans la société en forgeant, par le moyen de l.écriture, une autre construction détachée de la représentation dépreciative, alors, comment sont donc représentées les personnages féminines noires dans l.écriture de cette écrivain, une fois qu.elles s.écartent de la représentation de femmes soumises, inférieures ou, encore, d.objets pour le plaisir masculin ? À partir de cette intérrogation et dans le contexte de ce que cet étude propose, on a encore la prétention de démontrer, à travers les représentations des personnages féminines noires, quelques caractéristiques qui lui sont propres, soit à partir d.un regard quant à leurs trajetoires de vie, de la condition de vie et des rapports sociaux, surtout, des personnsges protagonistes féminines.
