Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Group dynamics of school class
No full textThis work focuses on clasroom group dynamics and it's aim is to develop a comprehensive concept (model), which will be able to explain the socio-psychological processes within the class. It could be used for diagnostic purposes (measurement) and intervention. The author first defines the group dynamics as a field of forces aiming to reach goals, or preventing their fulfillment. Based on three sources of literature (research of small groups, pedagogical understanding of group dynamics and psychoterapeutiacl understanding of group dynamics) the author describes all reflected forces in group dynamics. Based on in-depth interviews with seven experts,he creates seven different perspectives on the context and choses the key forces of the group dynamics. By a synthesis of the information sources, the author creates the final model. It's validity due to data and potential future use is discussed
The group buying phenomenon - factors leading to it's popularity and consumer position on the daily deals market from the user perspective
No full textThis bachelor thesis is focused on a phenomenon of group-buying on daily deals websites, especially then on the factors leading to it's popularity and the consumer position on the daily deals market. The topic is viewed from the user perspective, which the author tries to get to by way of a qualitative research. The author relies on the sociological theory of the consumer society in which she tries to find the roots of the successfully spreading of popularity of the discused phenomenon. As well author draws on there the theoretical background for a topic of consumer position on the daily deals market. Causes of spreading out are researched by a force of an exploration of motivation factors leading users to buy there. On that account there are as well described the theoretical conceptions of motivation and needs in brief. Author conducted a series of semistructured interview in which she emphasised the meanings that the users attach to the particular action. The analytical part of thesis connects main causes of spreading out of phenomenon, theoretically grounded in the theories of consumer society, with a typical aspects of this rather new way of internet shopping and consequent consume. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Response strategies of behavioral frequency questions
Full text linkThe thesis "Response strategies of behavioral frequency questions" deals with response strategies that respondents use to determine the frequency of behavior during the cognitive process of answering to the open-ended as well as closed behavioral frequency questions. The author uses a combination of research methods of cognitive interview with secondary analysis of quantitative data from the European Social Survey Research. The analytical part describes different types of response strategies used by respondents and deals with variety of factors that influence the choice of these strategies. The author analyzes the influence of the question format on the choice of the response strategy and on the answers to the same behavioral frequency questions. The thesis concludes that the choice of a particular response strategy is affected by the respondent's memory, the context within which the respondents have connected the behavior, regularity and absolute frequency of the behavior. The question format affects respondent's answers and it plays an important role during the cognitive process of answering behavioral frequency questions

We mainly focus on the decay process H → γγ. A complete set of SU(2) × U(1) invariant dimension- six operators is utilized. We present a brief introduction to GWS Standard model and dimension-six effective operators. One-loop Standard model contribution to the process of H → γγ is then evaluated, followed by calculation of tree-level and one-loop level dimension-six operators contribution to the same process. We then present a brief ge- neral summary of renormalization procedure in quantum field theory. Renormalization of performed calculations is implemented, and possible issues that may arise during renormalization of such non-renormalizable theory are also discussed. In the end, we discuss the obtained results, mainly the dependence of H → γγ decay rate on effective theory's free parameters and the scale of the new physics Λ. Focus is made on possible deviations from Standard model results. The results are plotted in charts...

The main task is to find out which factors influence civic attitudes and engagement of youth in current society. There has been an increased interest in concept of civil society since the fall of Communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe with respect to political, economic and social changes. These changes resulted in a need to rethink the content of civic and citizenship education. Firstly the author describes civil society as a context for civic participation with special emphasis on Czech civil society and then she deals with the theory of political socialization, which helps her to identify the key determinants of civic engagement. Family, school, peer groups and media are seen as the main agents of this socialization. Using data from the International Civic and Citizenship study the author concludes that context of schools and classrooms and motivation are the most important direct factors in civic engagement
