El proyecto tiene como objetivo integrar el manejo de deuda técnica a los procesos de desarrollo y verificación de calidad para fomentar el desarrollo de mejores productos.
Se presenta una introducción con la descripción de la empresa, el departamento, estado actual, el problema que se quiere enfrentar y los objetivos del proyecto.
A continuación, se presenta el marco teórico donde se detallan múltiples conceptos abarcando desde aspectos generales como las metodologías de desarrollo, hasta aspectos más específicos como la deuda técnica. Luego, se brinda el marco metodológico donde se define el tipo de investigación realizada y la obtención de datos para generar un diagnóstico, e identificar oportunidades de mejora con el fin de proponer recomendaciones, el plan piloto a ejecutar y la propuesta de aplicación.

Not just for searching strategic value, also for get better quality on the daily work for reducing the production cost to the maximum possible.
The Microfocus company is the current owner of the intellectual property of ArcSight, which got in their product portfolio products for the cybersecurity and analysis of their network activity in order to prevent any attack or odd behaviors inside of the network. And this allows the customer of this products to detect and improve security on their information systems and infrastructure.
And in order to ensure that his products will enable their clients to do so, they need be constantly delivered new versions of the products that requires to have a high level of quality for being effective. For this ArcSight has some QA teams that work constantly in order to ensure the quality of the products.
Due to the independence of each QA team regarding their production activities and the products that work specifically, they don’t have a common methodology that allows to do the Quality Assurance process and also to be measured in order to improved it during the passing of time to avoid decadency of it.
In this work is going to be explained a field research related to ArcSight Costa Rica division, that shows the analysis of the current quality assurance methodology in each QA team for the products on the portfolio.
As a result of this research we have a proposal of a new methodology, focus on the quality assurance following the best industry practices regarding quality assurance for software and also the best practices for agile methodologies.
Besides of bringing a standard for the day to day process, also brings the opportunity to it for growing and adapting during the passing of time and this enables to adapt to the organization necessities and avoid obsolescence of it. And in order to make it successful it gives a detailed implementation, following and maintain process but these steps are outside of the scope of the project.ArcSight Costa Ric
Propuesta de actualización del plan estratégico del TEC Digital del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica para el periodo 2019-2022
Get PDFProyecto de Graduación (Maestría en Computación) Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, Escuela de Ingeniería en Computación, 2019.Aspectos como la planificación estratégica, la gestión de las tecnologías de información y la alineación de esfuerzos hacia los objetivos estratégicos de una institución son primordiales para lograr cumplir con su misión y visión.
El TEC Digital es una unidad de apoyo a la academia adscrita a la Vicerrectoría de Docencia del Tecnológico de Costa Rica, y busca ofrecer soluciones tecnológicas que apoyen los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje, así como apoyar a la institución en el cumplimiento de sus objetivos académicos y proyectos afines.
En la búsqueda de lograr esta planificación, para el año 2017 se planteó una propuesta de plan estratégico para el TEC Digital, sin embargo, y dado que a la fecha no se ha realizado ninguna actualización del mismo, se consideró importante evaluar el grado de conocimiento de dicha propuesta, así como el nivel de cumplimiento y pertinencia de los fundamentos de dicho plan estratégico.
Estos aspectos, aunados al incremento en los servicios que se ofrecen a la comunidad, variaciones en el personal y cambios en la estrategia del TEC Digital, recalcan la necesidad de actualizar el plan estratégico de la unidad, para lo cual se presenta una metodología para llevar a cabo el proceso. De esta forma, se analiza la situación de la unidad evaluando cada componente de la propuesta del 2017 para determinar las brechas existentes entre la misma y el contexto vigente, posteriormente se elabora la propuesta de plan estratégico para los años 2019-2022 incorporando todas las modificaciones que responden a las necesidades actuales de la unidad y finalmente, se da la definición de recomendaciones estratégicas para ofrecer valor agregado.
Como resultado final de todo el proceso de análisis se tiene la actualización del plan estratégico del TEC Digital para los años 2019-2022, con una visión y estrategia clara y en consenso con la coordinación de la unidad e incluso bajo criterios de colaboradores expertos en sus áreas de trabajo. Dentro del plan se contemplan aspectos como la misión, visión, valores, fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas para la unidad, así como objetivos alineados a la estrategia de la unidad y que originan una serie de proyectos que buscan encauzar los esfuerzos para el logro de la misión, visión y objetivos definidos
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textThis article presents a debate between the application of concepts related to the traditional model of administrative sciences, included within the so-called ‘newtonian’ school, and the application of more contemporary concepts, covered under the new ‘quantic’ administrative approaches, using the specific case of a knowledge-based enterprise. The inquiry supposes that a company of this nature, which is also taken as a case study in the Costa Rican business environment, should hold a closer position to the more recent administrative focuses, especially because its business orientation presents important administrative and environmental challenges. From the information collected from the project managers involved in this firm, we have concluded that their points of view show tendencies that differ from the quantic approaches, and this constitutes an element that diminishes the enterprise’s competitiveness, as well as its capacity to adapt, and the flexibility in the functioning of its operation.El artículo desarrolla un debate sobre la aplicación de los conceptos propios de los modelos tradicionales de la Ciencia Administrativa, a la sazón amparados bajo la llamada escuela “newtoniana”, vis a vis con aquellos más contemporáneos y asertivos, cobijados bajo la óptica de los novedosos enfoques administrativos de corte “cuántico” para el caso específico de una empresa orientada hacia el conocimiento. La indagación supone que una firma de esta naturaleza, y que es abordada como un análisis de caso en el entorno de negocios costarricense, debería presentar una visión más cercana a los enfoques más recientes de la Administración, precisamente porque, por su giro de negocios, los desafíos ambientales y organizativos que enfrenta son muy importantes. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
