Synthesis and properties of oligomeric poly(glycidyl ether)s with a carbazole-based multifunctional photorefractive chromophore
No full textNovel photorefractive poly(glycidyl ether) oligomers of a carbazole-based multifunctional chromophore were synthesized via ring-opening cationic polymerization. This new class of materials showed good solubility in various organic solvents and thermal stability up to 400 degrees C. Optical quality films of excellent transparency at the light wavelength above 430 nm were obtained by spin-coating or casting. Photoconductive sensitivity of the film was as high as 10(-13) S cm(-1)/mW cm(-2) at 532 nm. Electrooptic coefficients (r(33)) of 5-7 pm V-1 were easily achieved by the contact poling of spin-coated films. As evidence of photonfractivity, an asymmetric two-beam coupling gain of 3.2 cm(-1) was demonstrated at an electric field of 30 V mu m(-1) with a low-T-g polymer blend of multifunctional poly(glycidyl ether). No full textDit rapport is het resultaat van een studie over de mogelijkheden van hoogwaterbestrijding op de Nam Mun, een rivier in Thailand. Daarbij is tevens rekening gehouden met de behoefte aan irrigatiewater voor landbouwgebieden in het stroomgebied van deze rivier. De Nam Mun is een zijrivier van de Mekong, gelegen in het noordoostelijke deel van Thailand. Langs de Mun-rivier lopen jaarlijks grote gebieden onder water t.g.v. zware regenval en overstromingen van de oevers. Tengevolge daarvan wordt jaarlijks aanzienlijke schade geleden door het verloren gaan van de rijstoogst in deze gebieden. In de droge:tijd gaat bovendien een deel van de oogst verloren door gebrek aan water. In het kader van technische hulp is door de Nederlandse overheid en door het Thaise Ministry of Science, Technology and Energie een opdracht gegeven aan een combinatie van twee Nederlandse ingenieursbureaus (Haskoning) en Eurocosult), onder de paraplu van NEDECO om een 'feasibility' studie uit te voeren m.b.t. een rivierverbetering en irrigatie/ drainage van aanliggende gebieden. Extending Protection at the WTO to Products Other Than Wines and Spirits: Who Will Benefit?
No full textThe issue of extending geographic indicator protection to products other than wines and spirits has created wide divergences between demandeurs and opponent countries at the WTO. This article examines the economic impacts of the proposals submitted at the WTO by these two groups of countries, focusing mainly on market access, generic names and impacts for the consumer in North America. Results from our survey show that reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers in North America would be more important in improving market access for EU geographical indications (GIs) than would GI extension. MUN MUUVI -musiikkivideomenetelmän esittely, testaaminen ja arviointi perhetyössä
No full textTämän opinnäytetyön tavoite oli testata kehittämääni MUN MUUVI- musiikkivideomenetelmää ja arvioida sen soveltuvuutta, käytettävyyttä sekä mahdollisia vaikutuksia perhetyössä. Toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön kehittämistehtävänä oli menetelmän soveltuvuuden arviointi perhetyössä.
MUN MUUVI- on tablettilaitteella toteutettava musiikkivideomenetelmä, joka koostuu kahdesta elementistä: itse sävelletystä musiikista sekä siihen kuvattavasta musiikkivideosta. Menetelmää testattiin Järvenpään kaupungin perhetyön yksikkö Tilkun perheohjaajien ja heidän asiakkaiden kanssa. Menetelmällä on tarveperustainen yhteys työelämän kanssa.
Menetelmän tietopohja perustuu musiikin ja kuvan voimaan ja vaikutuksiin sekä sosiaalipedagogiikan perusteisiin. Tietopohja sivuaa musiikin terapeuttista vaikutusta, säveltämistä, improvisointia sekä kuvan ja kuvaamisen mahdollisuuksia ohjaustyössä. Sosiaalipedagogiikan perusteet ovat vahvasti menetelmän periaatteellisena ytimenä. MUN MUUVI voi toimia kaksisuuntaisesti; se voi tuoda esiin asiakkaan elämästä ohjaustyön kannalta merkityksellisiä piirteitä ja vastaavasti toimia tekijälleen luovana ja voimauttavana kokemuksena.
Menetelmän testaamisen ja kerätyn palautteen perusteella voidaan todeta, että MUN MUUVI-menetelmä voi toimia osana perhetyön ohjaustyön menetelmiä. Menetelmää testanneilta asiakkailta ja perheohjaajilta kerättiin sekä suullista että kirjallista palautetta. Testaaminen oli positiivinen kokemus kaikille testaamiseen osallistuneille. Kehityskohteeksi nousi menetelmän käyttöönotto; se vaatii perusteellisen koulutuksen. Menetelmä vaatii onnistuakseen myös käyttöohjeet sekä menetelmän ohjaajille että sitä toteuttaville asiakkaille.
Tässä opinnäytetyössä esitelty MUN MUUVI toimii Apple-laitteilla ja niille tehdyillä ohjelmistoilla. Jatkossa MUN MUUVI pitäisi saada sovellettavaksi myös Android-pohjaisilla tablettilaitteilla. Testaamisen positiiviset kokemukset rohkaisevat kokeilemaan menetelmää jatkossa muissakin ympäristöissä, kuten mielenterveys-, päihde- tai vanhustyössä.The purpose of this thesis was to introduce, test and evaluate a new music video method that has been developed for family work. The name of the method is MUN MUUVI. The development task in this thesis was to evaluate whether this method is suitable as a counselling method in family work or not.
MUN MUUVI is a music video method that is implemented with a mobile tablet device. It is comprised of two self-made elements: composed music and video material designed and shot for the music video. MUN MUUVI was tested at Tilkku, the Järvenpää family work centre, with its customers and their family counsellors. Today there is a true demand for digital counselling methods in social services. This thesis was produced in close co-operation with real-life family work.
The MUN MUUVI method is built upon theories on the power and effects of music and images. The author also refers to the therapeutic effects of music, composition, musical improvisation and social pedagogy. Social pedagogy is the ideal foundation for the method. MUN MUUVI has a principle of two-way functionality. First, it can provide information that could be valuable for counselling work. Secondly, it can provide an opportunity for a satisfying creative process and empowerment.
The experiences during the testing period and the feedback the author received prove that MUN MUUVI could be used as part of the family work counselling methods. All the participating customers and family counsellors provided both oral and written feedback, and the testing period was a positive experience for everyone.
Some issues emerged for the future development of the method. There has to be a well-planned and thorough education period for the successful implementation of the method. Also, sufficient written instructions are needed, for both the counsellors and the customers.
The method described in this thesis works with Apple devices and software. There is a demand for a version that can be implemented on Android devices as well. The positive testing experience and feedback encourage to develop the method further. The future fields for this method could be mental health work, substance abuse rehabilitation and elderly care
Current status of Clonorchis sinensis and clonorchiasis in Korea: epidemiological perspectives integrating the data from human and intermediate hosts
No full textClonorchis sinensis is a carcinogenic liver fluke that causes clonorchiasis in humans. Clonorchiasis is prevalent in East Asian countries, and approximately 15-20 million individuals are estimated to be infected with this fluke globally. This review highlights the current status of C. sinensis and clonorchiasis in Korea from the epidemiological perspective involving the analysis of humans and intermediate hosts. Despite the recent decline in C. sinensis infection rate in Korea, C. sinensis infections remain endemic in 5 major river basins (Han-gang, Geum-gang, Seomjin-gang, Yeongsan-gang and Nakdong-gang; gang means river) with a high incidence of cholangiocarcinoma. A noticeable pattern involves increasing mild infections among patients diagnosed positive for C. sinensis eggs. The infection rate of C. sinensis metacercariae in the second intermediate host, freshwater fish, is also maintained at a substantial level. Thus, the One Health approach integrating different sectors and disciplines is recommended to accelerate and sustain control of C. sinensis, thereby leading to successful eradication. Health promotion via information dissemination and health education should be extended to prevent the consumption of raw freshwater fish by residents living in high-risk areas.Y

Kehittämistyö toteutettiin Ammattiopisto Luovin Oulun yksikössä lukuvuoden 2009-2010 aikana. Kehittämistyö oli osa Mun reitti -toiminta- ja työkykyvalmennuksen kehittäminen ammatillisessa erityisopetuksessa -projektia. Mun reitti
-projektin tavoitteena on vahvistaa opiskelijoiden osallisuutta ja kehittää opiskelijoiden toiminta- ja työkyvyn ohjauksen ja arvioinnin käytäntöjä.
Kehittämistyön tarkoituksena oli ryhmävalmennusohjelman ja valmentajan oppaan kehittäminen Mun reitti -projektiin projektin toimijoiden osallisuutta edistäen. Kehittämistyössä olivat seuraavat tutkimuskysymykset: 1. Ryhmävalmennusohjelman kehittäminen: a) Minkälaisia ovat olemassa olevat ryhmävalmennusohjelmat ja voidaanko niitä käyttää Mun reitti -projektin ryhmävalmennuksessa? b) Millaista uutta materiaalia tarvitaan ryhmävalmennusohjelmaan? c) Minkälainen käsitys pilotointiin osallistuvilla opiskelijoilla ja valmentajilla on Mun reitti
-projektin toiminnasta? 2. Valmentajan oppaan kehittäminen: a) Millaisia toiveita valmentajilla on valmentajan oppaan sisällöistä? b) Millaista kirjallista materiaalia tarvitaan valmentajan oppaaseen?
Kasvatuksellinen kuntoutus ja sosiaalipedagogiikka muodostivat kehittämisprosessin viitekehyksen. Kehittämismenetelmänä käytettiin toimintatutkimusta ja aineistot kerättiin kehittämistyöhön osallistuvilta sekä dialogisilla työmenetelmillä että Webropol -kyselyllä. Aineistot muodostuivat 13 valmentajan ja 28 opiskelijan tuottamasta materiaalista sekä Webropol -vastuksista. Kehittämistyö sisälsi seitsemän erilaista interventiota.
Mun reitti -projektin tuloksena on opiskelijan toiminta- ja työkyvyn yksilö- ja ryhmävalmennusohjelma. Valmennusohjelma sisältää voimaantumisen itsearvioinnin, jonka tulokset näkyvät kuudella voimaantumisen osa-alueella: osaaminen, itsemääräämisoikeus, vaikuttavuus, merkityksen kokeminen, myönteinen minäkuva ja yhteisöllisyys. Valmennusohjelmassa on yksilö- ja ryhmäharjoituksia voimaantumisen eri osa-alueiden vahvistamiseen. Kehittämistyön tuloksena ryhmävalmennusohjelmaan tehtiin 24 harjoitusta. Kaikki 37 harjoitusta ovat Harjoituksia matkaa varten -liitteessä. Kehittämistyön tuloksena aloitettiin valmentajan oppaan tekeminen, joka julkaistaan syksyllä 2011. Kehittämistyön raportti kuvaa Mun reitti -projektin ensimmäistä toimintavuotta. Raportti on hyödynnettävissä uusien toimijoiden perehdyttämisessä ja sitouttamisessa projektiin sekä projektin loppuraportoinnissa. Harjoituksia matkaa varten -liitteessä olevat harjoitukset ovat käytettävissä nuorten voimaantumista edistävässä toiminnassa. Mun reitti

The development work was carried out in Luovi Vocational College and it is a part of the My way -project. The purpose of My way -the developing of functioning and working capacity training in vocational special education college -project is to promote inclusion of students. My way –project develops students’ functioning and working capacity guidance and evaluation.
The objective of the development work was to develop a group training program and a guide for coach. Research questions were: 1. Developing the group training program: a) What are the existing group training programs like and can they be used in the My way –project? b) What kind of new material is needed in the group training program? c) What kind of opinion do the students and coaches participating in the pilot have of the My way –project? 2. Developing the guide for coach: a) What kind of wishes do the coaches have of the guide for coach contents? b) What kind of written material is needed in the guide for coach?
Frame of reference of the development work was social pedagogy and educational rehabilitation. Action research was used as development method. Data was collected by using methods which encourage dialogism and by a Webropol –survey. Data was collected from 13 coaches and 28 students. Seven different interventions were made in this development work.
As a result of the My way -project an individual- and group training program of functioning and working capacity of students will be created. The training program includes an Empowerment Questionnaire. The Empowerment Questionnaire includes six empowerment components: competence, self determination, impact, meaning, positive identity and group orientation. The personal training program includes different individual and group exercises for improving the different empowerment components. As a result of the development work 24 exercises were created for the group training program. As a further result of the development work the making of the guide for coach was started. The guide for coach will be published in the autumn 2011. The report of the development work describes the first year of the My way -project. The exercises included in the appendix can be used in activities that encourage empowerment of young people. My way –project establish coach training.

It is Lee Mun Wah’s belief that we cannot wait until tomorrow for some charismatic leader to appear who will bring us all together. We each must take a stand and personally participate in this important journey of confronting our fears and beginning a conversation not only with those we love but also with those we have been taught to fear. We cannot continue being separate and unequal without there being a cost to each and every generation. Our survival and the very future of our children depend on all of us embracing our differences as well as our mutuality. If we can accomplish this in our lifetime, we can then look back and know that we have found a way to live together authentically and harmoniously, using and honoring all of our gifts and special contributions.
