Memory worlds: Reframing time and the past – An introduction
No full textThis article, a prologue to the special issue ‘Memory Worlds: Reframing Time and the Past’, is a follow-up to the plenary session ‘Connecting Memory Traditions around the World’, organised by the authors in the Third Annual Conference of the Memory Studies Association held in Madrid (2019). Elaborating on the work of critical physicists such as Rovelli and Barad, it calls into question hegemonic conceptions of linear time and the past in two ways. First, by bringing in crucial concepts elaborated in the field of memory studies that anticipate, support or may accommodate this claim. Secondly, by summoning social anthropology to the debate, as a field where subaltern epistemologies of time and the past have become a crucial area of research in the last decades. FRESKE U CRKVI MARIJE COLLEGIATE U KOTORU
Get PDFPreviously unknown frescoes were recently discovered in the Collegiate Church (S. Maria de Fulmine) in Kotor: Christ the Almighty in the cupola, several scenes of the Passion in the apse, a row of standing figures on the western wall and the Marriage in Cana in the upper zone of the west bay. The author links the iconographic schemes of the frescoes with the Byzantine tradition of the so-called Palaeologan Renaissance, drawing parallels with several buildings in Greece and Macedonia which have frescoes by artists from Thessaloniki. The date of these frescoes is set around 1320. Their execution is ascribed to Manoylo whose signature can be seen in the Greek inscription on the sword of the angel Gabriel. The same Greek artist is mentioned in 14th century archive documents from Kotor and was of numerous »pictores graeci« working in Kotor and in other eastern Adriatic towns at this time. His art brings together Byzantine and Gothic characteristics many of which can be found in the S. Maria Collegiata frescoes.U radnji se analiziraju stilske, ikonografske i topografske osobitosti nedavno otkrivenih ostataka fresaka u crkvi sv. Marije Collegiate (sv. Marije od Rijeke) u Kotoru. Smještaj scena Kristovih stradanja u apsidi sugerira se kao lokalna tradicija, a u vezi s kultom čudotvornog raspela, koji je u Kotoru bio vrlo izražen. Prema potpisu na grčkom jeziku, u djelomično sačuvanom natpisu na macu arhanđela Gabrijela, dokazuje se da je autor fresaka Manojlo Grk koji se spominje u kotorskim arhivalijama ranog 14. stoljeća, za koje vrijeme se vezuje nastanak fresaka. Osim bizantskih, uočavaju se i gotički uplivi, kao i kod znatnog broja „pictores graeci“ koji su djelovali u istočnojadranskim gradovima
Prioritising challenges to develop Mobility as a Service in the Netherlands using a Delphi study
No full textMobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is an innovative concept which has the potential to deliver a convenient mobility option to travellers. It provides the supply of multi-modal and demand-driven mobility services which includes custom made travel options with real-time information. This all is shared with the use of a digital platform to the customer. The service also includes the payment and settlement of transactions. However, when one is designing such a system, many challenges are encountered .These are influenced by national specific circumstances. In this study a Delphi study is performed in order to map and prioritise the challenges for MaaS in the Netherlands. Furthermore, specific Dutch circumstances are identified which obstruct or ease the development of MaaS. No full textV diplomskem delu sem se osredotočila na socialno neenakost in položaj žensk v romanih Hiša Marije Pomočnice, Na klancu in Križ na gori Ivana Cankarja. Na kratko sem orisala življenje avtorja, predstavila romane in sodobni slovenski roman. Romani Ivana Cankarja so znani po tem, da so izrazito avtobiografski, tako prinašajo vpogled v avtorjevo doživljanje družbenih razmer, ljudi, ki so ga obkrožali in njihove tegobe ter problematike, kot so: revščina, socialna neenakost, boj za preživetje, trpljene, pomanjkanje, nepričakovane smrti in podobno. Osredotočila sem se na sociološko obravnavo razmer tistega časa, največjo pozornost pa sem namenila ravno obravnavi socialne in spolne neenakosti, posebej pa sem izpostavila slabši družben položaj žensk.In my diploma thesis I focused on social inequality and the position of women in Ivan Cankar\u27s novels Hiša Marije Pomočnice, Na Klancu in Križ na gori. I briefly outlined the author\u27s life, presented the novels and the contemporary Slovenian novel. Ivan Cankar\u27s novels are known for being highly autobiographical, thus providing an insight into the author\u27s experience of social conditions, the people who surrounded him and their hardships and problems, such as: poverty, social inequality, the struggle for survival, suffering, deprivation, unexpected deaths and so on. I have focused on the sociological aspects of the situation at that time, and I have paid the greatest attention to social and gender inequality, with particular focus on the disadvanteged position of women in society
