    People of India are lucky in the richness of natural resources and diversity of living resources. Uniqueness of our planet earth is the most exiting fact. Earth is the only planet that can support life. The earth is gifted with thousands of rivers that supplies sweet water to quench out thirst, an atmosphere that supplies oxygen for our survival, a natural ozone umbrella that protects us from dangerous ultra violet rays, a green carpet of vegetation that recycles the waste gases like carbon dioxide to oxygen, a large number of attractions like rainbows, lightening and thunders. There are three types of environments including, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. The nature itself keeps balance among these three layers. Biological wealth on the land includes vegetation, animals, birds, and insects, which are interdependent. The environment in all its facets of biological diversity, the air, soil water, and the forests constitute the essential life support system on which we depend. The main and foremost aims of environment are to study of nature ‘Environment is the sum of all social, economical, biological factors which constitutes the surroundings of man, who is both creator and moulder’. In India, industrial sector plays major role in creation environmental imbalance. Researcher selects this area particularly to study environmental problems in Gujarat State. Samples are selected from five main area of cement, pharmaceutical, textile, chemical VI and fertilizer. Rational of this sample is that Gujarat Industrial Economy majority dependent on these industries.     The diagnostic dilemma of cutis laxa: A report of two cases with genotypic dissimilarity

    Cutis laxa is a heterogeneous group of diseases, with loose, wrinkled skin folds and hyperelasticity of the skin. There are overlapping of clinical features of the group of syndrome associated with cutis laxa, including congenital cutis laxa, wrinkly skin syndrome and gerodermia osteodysplastica. All these conditions present a challenge to the clinician. Thus, molecular diagnosis is the only way to resolve these phenotypically similar conditions. We hereby describe two Indian patients with wrinkled skin and mild craniofacial dysmorphic features who had molecular confirmation of autosomal recessive cutis laxa

    ROHINTON MISTRY AS A DIASPORIC AUTHOR

    The writings of the Indian Diaspora have received a great deal of attention and critical acclaim throughout the world. Rohinton Mistry is a well renowned author in the contemporary commonwealth literature and occupies a significant place among the writers of Indian Diaspora. Even though he is settled in Canada; it is his upbringing in Mumbai that reflects in all his writings. The distinct Mumbai culture, particularly the Parsee way of life, the people of the city and even the politics of India are major themes in his novels. Rohinton Mistry as a writer of Diaspora has carved a niche for himself. His works such as: “Tales from Firozsha Baag”, “Such A Long Journey”, “A Fine Balance” and “Family Matters”;mark a new kind of writing, resulting from a fragmented, splintered world. As a Diasporic Parsi writer, very sensitively he has recalled his community’s journey through time and history with a sense of loss and nostalgia. His books portray diverse facets of Indian socioeconomic life; as well as Parsi Zoroastrian life, customs, and religion. Many of his writings are markedly “Indo-nostalgic”. Rohinton Mistry through his Diasporic discourse has well depicted his ancestral background, his community’s engaged situation in a metropolis like Bombay and his deep attachment with and nostalgia for a world gone by. In this paper an attempt has been made to delineate diasporic discourse in the works of Rohinton Mistry. Although he is obsessed with the colonial and postcolonial experiences in India, we can find some traces of Canada in his literature. His characters dream of being integrated into, and accepted by, Canadian society on the one hand and on the other hand, these same characters are torn by an insatiable desire to be true to their native culture; to honor and cherish their own, distinct cultural identity

    Nature Morte is pleased to announce „Serial Pursuit,“ a group exhibition in which recent works in various media by David Mabb, Manisha Parekh, Dayanita Singh and Audiobombing Crew will be brought together to present an exploration of art works created as sets or in sequences. The highlight of the opening night will be a performance by Audiobombing Crew. Founded by Markus Zull and Stephan Ebersthäuser in 2003, the sound art collective creates serial sound loops, which are collaged together from analogue sources. The duo works with technical defects and their dynamic manipulation. By mixing Indian pop songs sourced from Bollywood musicals and spoken audio materials, the artists develop sound loops whose repetitive nature resembles the tone of ancient mantras. Audiobombing Crew live and work in Pfaffenhofen in Southern Germany. They have performed in venues such as the Kölner Philharmonie, the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and at Gasteig München. In David Mabb’s works, "Rhythm 69" and "Two Squares," various wallpaper and fabric designs of William Morris are spliced together with the avant-garde art of El Lissitzky and Hans Richter. Presented as paintings arranged in formalist grids which mimic the regulative practices of industrial production, Mabb’s smash-ups of the now haute-bourgeois decorative motifs and the once radical but now sentimentalized utopian experiments are steeped in the irony implicit in negotiating a politicized art practice today. David Mabb (b.1959) lives and works in London. He has exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions at venues such as the Liverpool Biennial, the Delaware Centre for the Contemporary Arts, Leo Kamen Gallery in Toronto, the CIMA Gallery in Calcutta and the British Council in New Delhi. Dayanita Singh's work "Museum of Innocence (The Madras Chapter)" is a photographic portrait of the MGR Memorial House in Chennai, India. The former private residence of M.G. Ramachandran is now a museum that commemorates the beloved Tamil actor and politician, where his personal belongings are displayed as relics. Singh uses the camera’s special ability to capture loss to create the memory of a memory held up by a lattice of formal repetition. Dayanita Singh (b. 1960) lives and works in New Delhi. Her work was included in the exhibition "Illuminazione" at this year’s Venice Biennale and she has held numerous solo exhibitions in prestigious venues such as the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum in Berlin, the Isabella Stewart Gardiner Museum in Boston, Recontres Arles in France, Frith Street Gallery in London, Fondacion Mapfre in Madrid, and Shiseido Gallery, Tokyo. In Manisha Parekh’s new gouache paintings and graphite drawings on paper, her imagery is bio-morphic and seemingly automatic. Successive images build into a canon of identity and cultural inheritance, both Indian and international. Manisha Parekh (b. 1964) lives and works in New Delhi. Solo exhibitions of her works have been presented at Nature Morte, New Delhi; BodhiArt, New York; Berkeley Square Gallery, London; Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai; The British Council, New Delhi; and The Foundation for Indian Art, Amsterdam

    Synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4@SiO2@PDA@Ag core–shell nanoparticles and biological application on human lung cancer cell line and antibacterial strains

    Novel magnetic and metallic nanoparticles garner much attention of researchers due to their biological, chemical and catalytic properties in many chemical reactions. In this study, we have successfully prepared a core–shell Fe3O4@SiO2@PDA nanocomposite wrapped with Ag using a simple synthesis method, characterised and tested on small cell lung cancer and antibacterial strains. Incorporating Ag in Fe3O4@SiO2@PDA provides promising advantages in biomedical applications. The magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were coated with SiO2 to obtain negatively charged surface which is then coated with polydopamine (PDA). Then silver nanoparticles were assembled on Fe3O4@SiO2@PDA surface, which results in the formation core–shell nanocomposite. The synthesised nanocomposite were characterized using SEM-EDAX, dynamic light scattering, XRD, FT-IR and TEM. In this work, we report the anticancer activity of silver nanoparticles against H1299 lung cancer cell line using MTT assay. The cytotoxicity data revealed that the IC50 of Fe3O4@SiO2@PDA@Ag against H1299 lung cancer nanocomposites cells was 21.52 µg/mL. Furthermore, the biological data of nanocomposites against Gram-negative ‘Pseudomonas aeruginosa’ and Gram-positive ‘Staphylococcus aureus’ were carried out. The range of minimum inhibitory concentration was found to be 115 µg/mL where gentamicin was used as a standard drug. The synthesized AgNPs proves its supremacy as an efficient biomedical agent and AgNPs may act as potential beneficial molecule in lung cancer chemoprevention and antibacterial strains
