The Effect of Aromatherapy and Su Jok Interventions on Post-Cesarean Pain
ELMALI SIMSEK, HULYA/0000-0003-0372-1981Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of aromatherapy and Su Jok interventions as non-pharmacological methods of relieving pain after cesarean section. Materials and methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted with 120 women who had cesarean delivery in the gynecology and obstetrics department of a training and research hospital between February 9 and October 2, 2019. The participants were allocated to the aromatherapy group, Su Jok group, Su Jok and aromatherapy group, or control group using block randomization based on parity. Su Jok was performed using buckwheat seed; aromatherapy was applied using lavender, eucalyptus, or rose oil. Data were collected using a participant information form and pain was assessed using the Visual Analog Scale. Results: There was no significant difference between the groups in mean pain levels before or after the intervention, although the control group had less initial pain compared to the intervention groups. However, all three intervention groups showed significant decreases in pain levels immediately and 30 min after the intervention compared to pre-intervention levels (p < 0.05). The intervention in all three groups reduced the level of pain. In particular, the pain level of the Su Jok group reached from moderate to mild. There was no significant change in the control group. Conclusions: Aromatherapy and Su Jok interventions performed separately and simultaneously in addition to routine hospital care were more effective in reducing post-cesarean pain than routine care alone.Science Citation Index Expande

Simsek, Hulya/0000-0001-8636-9033; Celebi, Bekir/0000-0002-4545-5573; GAZYAGCI, SERKAL/0000-0002-0043-6942Tularemia is a zoonotic disease caused by Francisella tularensis which can be transmitted to humans by tick bites contaminated water handling infected materials and inhalation. The different clinical types are ulceroglandular, glandular, oropharyngeal, oculoglandular, typhoidal and pneumonic tularemia. Streptomycin and tetracycline are commonly used to treat this infection. In this study approched other patients after the suspected tularemia patient attended to Kirikkale University, Faculty of Medicine with the servical mass complaint at January 2010. To find the reservoir for tularemia, laboratory research was carried on the mice. suspected to be infected with Francisella tularensis in the town of infection
Phosphorus-nitrogen compounds. Part 35. Syntheses, spectroscopic and electrochemical properties, and antituberculosis, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of mono-ferrocenyl-spirocyclotetraphosphazenes
Aydin, Betul/0000-0002-9092-1350; okumus, aytug/0000-0002-2169-5695; Hokelek, Tuncer/0000-0002-8602-4382; Simsek, Hulya/0000-0001-8636-9033The reactions of octachlorocyclotetraphosphazene, N4P4Cl8, with N-alkyl-N-mono-ferrocenyldiamines, FcCH(2)NH(CH2)(n)NHR1 [n = 2, Fc = ferrocene, R-1 = Me (1); n = 2, R-1 = Et (2) and n = 3, R-1 = Me (3)], led to the formation of monoferrocenyl-spirocyclotetraphosphazenes (4-6). When the reactions were carried out with excess pyrrolidine, morpholine and 1,4-dioxa-8-azaspiro[4,5] decane (DASD), the fully substituted products (4a-6c) were obtained in high yields. The structures of all the phosphazene derivatives were characterized by MS, FTIR, H-1, C-13 and P-31 NMR, HSQC and HMBC techniques. The crystal structures of 4a and 5a were determined by X-ray crystallography. The electrochemically reversible one-electron oxidation of Fc redox centers was observed for cyclotetraphosphazenes. The fully substituted phosphazenes (4a-6c) were evaluated for their antituberculosis activity against reference strain Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, and compounds 4a-6a and 5c were found to be active. The antibacterial activities of phosphazenes 4a-6c against G(+) and G(-) bacteria and their antifungal activities against yeast strains were carefully scrutinized. The results indicate that compounds 4a-6a, 6b, 4c and 5c are very effective against yeast strains. The anticandidal activities of 6a and 6b make them promising anticandidal agents. The interactions of these compounds with plasmid DNA and their cytotoxic activity against L929 fibroblast and DLD-1 colon cancer cell lines were also investigated.Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA)Turkish Academy of SciencesThe author Z. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
En läromedelsanalys av ämnesspecifika begrepp inom området elektricitet : En undersökning av tre läroböcker i fysik för årkurserna 4-6
Research has shown that science education is highly dependent on the quality of teaching materials. Here science textbooks have a dominant role in Swedish schools. When curriculum determines the content of textbooks, it promotes confidence in both schools and teachers. The purpose of this study is to analyze physics textbooks by using Järnborg’s (2007) theoretical concepts of categorization of the subject-specific words. The following questions are posed: * Which subject-specific concepts are presented in three selected physics textbooks for grade 4-6 in Swedish public schools? * How are these subject-specific concepts presented? The study finds a variety and selection of material presented in the selected textbooks. The results show that physics concepts are introduced through describing the concept by example and through the relation between the new and earlier introduced concepts. Consequently, it is important for teachers to take into consideration the content and structure of a textbook in science in order to realize its potential in the classroo
