Techniques d’hygiène dentaire (111.A0) : potentiel de l’efficacité pédagogique de la simulation d’interventions de soins en hygiène dentaire réalisée en haute fidélité
Get PDFLa simulation clinique haute fidélité (SCHF) a été étudiée dans divers domaines de l'enseignement en santé (Benhaberou-Brun, 2014; Boet et al., 2013). Cependant, peu de recherches documentent cette méthode pédagogique dans le cadre de la formation collégiale dans les techniques d’hygiène dentaire. C’est pourquoi cet essai s’intéresse au potentiel de l’efficacité pédagogique de la simulation d’interventions de soins en hygiène dentaire réalisée en haute fidélité (SISHDHF) au programme Techniques d’hygiène dentaire (111.A0).
La problématique relève d’un contexte de formation où les cours, les laboratoires et les stages ne permettent pas toujours à chaque personne étudiante de rencontrer une variété de situations pour favoriser l’accès égal à une diversité d’apprentissages pour tous. La personne hygiéniste dentaire doit posséder des connaissances et des compétences essentielles à une pratique professionnelle. Selon Lebel et McCann (2020) ainsi que Boet et al. (2013), il est important de mettre à jour et de diversifier les approches en enseignement dans le but d’assurer un apport de soins de qualités, d’éviter les évènements indésirables, ainsi que pour répondre aux normes professionnelles et d’autonomie propres à la pratique de soins actuels. Pour y arriver, il s’avère donc nécessaire de moderniser les pratiques pédagogiques de la formation, dans les programmes Techniques d’hygiène dentaire (111.A0), afin de permettre aux personnes étudiantes d’apprendre les diverses techniques pour la profession d’hygiéniste dentaire, et ce, dans des contextes diversifiés, complexes et empreints d’un haut niveau de réalisme.
Lors d’une formation universitaire et à la suite d’une recension d’écrits, la SCHF a émergé comme étant une stratégie pédagogique pouvant offrir aux personnes étudiantes une grande variété d’expositions à une diversité de situations cliniques authentiques permettant le transfert et l’apprentissage d’expériences se rapprochant de la réalité professionnelle (Simoneau et Paquette, 2014). Néanmoins, cette recension des écrits ne nous a pas permis de trouver de recherches qui traitaient explicitement du recours à des activités d’immersion clinique en haute fidélité dans des contextes de formation en techniques d’hygiène dentaire.
Les travaux de principaux auteurs ont été retenus pour l’élaboration du cadre de recherche sur lequel s’appuie cet essai : les étapes liées à l’activité d’immersion clinique simulée, selon Jeffries (Cowperthwait, 2020; Jeffries et Rogers, 2012), un processus de soins en hygiène dentaire (Badanjak, 2019; Darby et Walsh, 2015; Pieren et Browen, 2020; Wilkins et al., 2017) et les besoins humains (Badanjak, 2019; Darby et Walsh, 2015; Pieren et Browen, 2020; Wilkins et al., 2017). Les principaux concepts du cadre de recherche retenus pour traiter la question générale de recherche font référence au développement des compétences, aux stratégies pédagogiques qui réfèrent aux stratégies d’enseignement axées sur l’apprentissage expérientiel, telles l’activité d’immersion clinique simulée et l’approche entourant les soins d’interventions en hygiène dentaire.
Une recherche mixte (Fortin et Gagnon, 2022; Paillé, 2007) avec composantes quantitative et qualitative fut privilégiée afin de réaliser l’essai. Selon plusieurs auteurs (Karsenti et Savoie-Zajc,2018); Van der Maren,1995; Moss,1996) :
Ce type de recherche est une approche pragmatique permettant d’enrichir la perspective. Les données quantitatives jumelées aux données qualitatives viennent enrichir et soutenir les résultats de l’étude. Finalement, ces deux approches jumelées permettent tout simplement d’avoir une vision plus complète et plus nuancée d’un phénomène qu’on cherche à comprendre.
L’expérimentation a été menée auprès de personnes participantes (N = 10) inscrites à chacune des années d’enseignement dans le programme Techniques d’hygiène dentaire (111.A.0). Une observation d’une activité d’immersion clinique simulée adaptée à chacun des groupes de personnes étudiantes selon le niveau de formation au cursus scolaire, deux questionnaires à échelle de Likert concernant le niveau de satisfaction et le niveau de confiance à l’égard des apprentissages réalisés lors de la simulation d’interventions de soins d’hygiène dentaire réalisée en haute fidélité SISHDHF, un questionnaire de quatre questions ouvertes portant sur la perception de l’efficacité pédagogique de la SISHDHF, ainsi que le journal de bord appartenant à la chercheuse ont été retenues comme méthodes, afin de recueillir des données quantitatives et qualitatives, qui nous ont permis de répondre aux objectifs de l’essai à l’issue de leur analyse.
Les résultats obtenus, au cours du processus de recherche, ont contribué, d’une part, à dégager des constats quant au potentiel de l’efficacité pédagogique de la SISHDHF dans le programme Techniques d’hygiène dentaire (111.A0), et d’autre part, à esquisser des pistes d’adaptation afin d’utiliser le plein potentiel de cette méthode pédagogique dans le contexte de l’enseignement dans ce programme de formation collégial
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
