No full textWe provide the data and code necessary to replicate the main results presented in the Working Paper "Hydrogen Utilization for Decarbonizing the Dairy Industry: A Techno-Economic Scenario Analysis" (Puglia, Boccaletti, Faya, Morselli, Allesina & Pedrazzi; WP 2025).
The subfolders allow replicating the following:
1. The folder "Alkaline_Electrolyser_Model" allows the user to simulate the hydrogen production rate of an advanced alkaline water electrolyser based on a given power input.
2. The folder "Economic assessment" allows the user to replicate the Monte Carlo simulation used to obtain the economic results presentend in section 3.2.
3. The folder "Methane Savings" allows the user to calculate the monthly energy-equivalent mass of methane
4. The foder "Thermal Load Calculation and Dairy Plants Dataset" allows the user to replicate the estimation of the energy load considered in the dairy production process.
For each subfolder a README file is provided. It contains information about the reproduction steps.

No full textThe paper seeks to provide a new interpretation of one of the most significant dystopian novels written in Italy in the second half of 20th century, namely Dissipatio H.G. by Guido Morselli. After a brief introduction of the topic of the novel, we move toward the textual analysis of the elements that constitute the general atmosphere of the narration, focusing on the eeriness of the spaces and the environments according to the definition given by the British philosopher Mark Fisher. Secondly, we focus on the dynamics of the «failure of presence» confronting the development of the plot after the evaporation of humankind with the philosophical depiction of «the world-without-us» provided by the American philosopher Eugene Thacker. Eventually, we suggest a consonance between the de-humanized world displayed by Morselli and the thackerian «external», both resulting in a natural environment that has been cleansed by the anthropic presence and the spatial referents which are normally employed to discuss about it

The analysis of data coming from a teaching experiment in grade 10, in the context of algebra teaching, shows the design is promising and suggests that the proposed activities were efficient in promoting students'self-regulation

Vine prunings biomass as fuel in wood stoves for thermal power production
No full textWine industries by-products consist in various biomasses. The major in abundance are the vine prunings, derived from the annual vine plant maintenance. Literature suggests a variable production of 1-5 ton/year for every hectare of vine plantation. Vine prunings have a higher heating value of about 18 MJ/kg and an ash amount of about 4%. This paper analyzes the behavior as solid fuel in domestic stove of 4 variety of vine prunings from Emilia Romagna, a region in the north of Italy. First, physical and chemical characterization of the biomass samples were performed, then ash sintering and melting temperatures were evaluated. Combustion tests on a commercial multi-fuel biomass stove were performed. During the tests, mean combustion temperatures, biomass consumption, thermal power and combustion efficiency were calculated and compared with data regarding tests with A1 plus wood pellets. In addition, qualitative results about biomass sintering and stove flame stability was discussed. Results show a thermal efficiency comparable to the one obtained with wood pellet and the sintering of ashes was neglectable. Concluding, pre-treated vine prunings confirmed good properties as fuel in wood stove
