The inpatient room in hospital facilities has rules and standards but should be optimized with a creative spatial design approach, such as biophilic principles. The principles of biophilic consist of 14 patterns and are categorized into three criteria: nature in the space, natural analogues, and nature of the space with interior design consideration. The biophilic design approach is flexible, while the hospital facilities have standards that could limit the design exploration. This study aims to see the potential of biophilic principles in hospital design by young designers. This research was conducted by a design project and involved lecturers and design experts from the industry related. The method used was teaching in class and encouraging the creativity and activeness of participants by conducting studies individually and in groups. The main topics in class were enriched with biophilic material and design standards for hospital inpatient rooms set by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Various results were found; there are 15 inpatient room designs, all with biophilic criteria based on students’ creativity. The design project successfully enhanced the creativity of biophilic criteria implemented in the inpatient room, although there are various constraints in hospital design standards

A Fundamental Look at Electronic Storytelling: Subverting Expectations on a Procedural Level

In a book that explores the fundamental principles of sound storytelling, George Saunders tells us, “A story (any story, every story) makes its meaning at speed, a small structural pulse at a time. We read a bit of text and a set of expectations arises” (11-12). Saunders explains that good storytelling depends on what an author does with those expectations, that “we could understand a story as simply a series of such expectation/resolution moments” (12). It is a universal technique for creating engaging stories: create an expectation, then either meet it or subvert it in an entertaining way. Some have argued that the illusion of choice offered by games and interactive fiction ultimately detracts from the narrative, disrupting the reader’s attention (Bogost 2017; D’Aloia 2020; Mukherjee 2023). However, the tension between authorship and perceived co-authorship in electronic works of literature offers a unique surface on which the author can create expectations in ways that are not possible in linear works. In order to demonstrate, this paper presents The Last of Us (Naughty Dog 2013) as an example of electronic literature that creates an expectation in its reader on a procedural level, and then undermines that expectation in a surprising manner. The Last of Us (Naughty Dog 2013) uses what is essentially ‘the trolley problem’—quite possibly the most recognizable archetype we have for difficult choices—as the climax of its narrative, in a medium that is known for offering choice to its reader. The reader is well-primed to feel the need to decide the direction the narrative will take. However, The Last of Us (Naughty Dog 2013) retains its own authorial control. This paper argues this work’s success hinges on its denial of choice, creating a different set of questions and reflections for the reader. By examining how fundamental principles such as this apply specifically to electronic interactive media, we seek to better understand interactive media’s position on the spectrum of narrative works. / One means of transportation that really supports economic activities in Indonesia is aircraft used in aviation. Air transportation is experiencing development rapidly, after the government gave airlines enough freedom to determine rates. In fact, the development of the air transportation business is not in line with the system laws that support the business growth of the sector. One of them is the law regarding collateral for aircraft includes airplanes and helicopters in financing for procurement/purchase of aircraft. This results in its implementation being very rare Or it almost never happens that airlines buy aircraft in cash instantly using his own money or capital. For this, financing is needed from other parties, one of which is the bank. The research method used by the author using normative juridical research methods. Normative legal research is research that This is done by examining library materials or also called research literature. Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation does not mention it stated that the guarantee agency can be charged for aircraft. Aircraft underwriting and helicopters using current mortgages do not give rise to rights preferential for creditors because the only thing that can be executed is the Deed of Power of Attorney to Charge Mortgages. Records are carried out by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transportation only produce a Certificate. Pawns also cannot be placed on aircraft due to the debtor must release the aircraft from its control and hand it over to creditors. Aircraft It is also impossible to be charged with a mortgage right because the object of the mortgage right is a right on land and other objects which are an integral part of the land. Law Number 42 of 1999 concerning Fiduciary Guarantees explicitly states that fiduciaries cannot be charged on an airplane. However, in this law there is no prohibition against making it aircraft parts such as aircraft engines and/or aircraft spare parts are made object of fiduciary guarantee. Thus Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation has not provided a solution regarding material guarantee institutions that can be charged for aircraft in Indonesia. The relationship between material security rights for aircraft and the Convention Cape Town is an agreement granting property security rights is one way to receive protection as an international interest under the Cape Town Convention. Ratification of the Cape Town Convention and its provision in the Aviation Act only provide a way out for creditors holding material security rights that are charged over an aircraft installed under foreign law, but the aircraft is registered in operation in Indonesia
