Power-law decay of the degree-sequence probabilities of multiple random graphs with application to graph isomorphism
We consider events over the probability space generated by the degree sequences of multiple independent Erdős-Rényi random graphs, and consider an approximation probability space where such degree sequences are deemed to be sequences of i.i.d. random variables. We show that, for any sequence of events with probabilities asymptotically smaller than some power law in the approximation model, the same upper bound also holds in the original model. We accomplish this by extending an approximation framework proposed in a seminal paper by McKay and Wormald. Finally, as an example, we apply the developed framework to bound the probability of isomorphism-related events over multiple independent random graphs

Este livro reúne trabalhos apresentados nos minicursos ministrados no XVI Simpósio Brasileiro de Sistemas de Informação (SBSI), realizado online e organizado pela Universidade Federal do ABC, no período de 03 a 06 de novembro de 2020. Participam do SBSI, fórum nacional de debates da área de Sistemas de Informação (SI), estudantes e pesquisadores com apresentação de trabalhos científicos e discussão de temas contemporâneos relacionados à área. Neste ano, foram submetidas 5 propostas de minicursos válidas e duas foram selecionadas, tal qual decidido na última reunião da Comissão Especial de Sistemas de Informação. Tais propostas foram avaliadas por, no mínimo, três pesquisadores que fazem parte de um comitê composto por 38 professores pesquisadores. Os dois minicursos contidos neste livro abordam tópicos de interesse da comunidade de Sistemas de Informação e correlatos ao tema da 16a. Edição do evento, intitulado “Sistemas de Informação na Transformação e Inovação Digital”. O primeiro capítulo, “Utilizando Ciência de Redes no Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Complexos”, ensina como o contexto dos sistemas complexos afeta o desenvolvimento das aplicações contemporâneas e como modelos em ciência de redes podem ser utilizados para melhor compreender a estrutura e características desses sistemas. O segundo capítulo, “Desenvolvimento de Soluções com Serviços: SOA, Cloud e Microsserviços”, discute a sinergia entre os conceitos de Arquitetura Orientada a Serviços (SOA), Computação em Nuvem (Cloud) e Arquitetura de Microsserviços (MSA) no contexto do desenvolvimento de software de Sistemas de Informação, mostrando como aplicar estes paradigmas no desenvolvimento de aplicações distribuídas para sistemas de informação. Esperamos que este livro auxilie estudantes, pesquisadores e profissionais da área de Sistemas de Informação na construção do conhecimento em temas específicos relacionados ao que foi aqui apresentado.
This book brings together works presented in the mini-courses given at the 16th Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems (SBSI), held online and organized by the Federal University of ABC, from November 03 to 06, 2020. Participate in SBSI, the national debate forum of Information Systems (IS) area, students and researchers with the presentation of scientific papers and discussion of contemporary topics related to the area. This year, 5 valid mini-course proposals were submitted and two were selected, as decided at the last meeting of the Special Information Systems Commission. Such proposals were evaluated by at least three researchers who are part of a committee composed of 38 research professors. The two mini-courses contained in this book address topics of interest to the Information Systems community and related to the 16th theme. Edition of the event, entitled “Information Systems in Digital Transformation and Innovation”. The first chapter, “Using Network Science in the Development of Complex Systems”, teaches how the context of complex systems affects the development of contemporary applications and how models in network science can be used to better understand the structure and characteristics of these systems. The second chapter, “Development of Service Solutions: SOA, Cloud and Microservices”, discusses the synergy between the concepts of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Cloud Computing (Cloud), and Microservice Architecture (MSA) in the context of the development of Information Systems software, showing how to apply these paradigms in the development of distributed applications for information systems. We hope that this book will help students, researchers, and professionals in the Information Systems area in building knowledge on specific topics related to what was presented here.

Brief Psychotherapy for Management of Primary Headaches: a Clinical Grounded Approach
This research explores the potentialities of psychotherapy for the
management of chronic pain. The model used is brief therapy of systemic
orientation and the chronic pain managed is primary headaches (namely, migraines
and tension-type headaches). In order to produce clinically relevant material, this
research is carried out within an alternative research paradigm. The raw data are the
audio-recordings of two cases: one with a man suffering from migraines; the other
with a woman suffering from chronic tension-type headaches (aggravated by
migraine episodes). These were selected from a pool of cases because they illustrate
the phenomena under study and both completed a follow-up which confirmed an
acceptable headache management outcome. The recordings were transcribed in
order to be studied using discourse analysis of social constructionist orientation (DA
hereafter). The research questions explored are: How were the headache problems,
the therapeutic aims and the resources for managing them constructed during
therapy? What did the participants do with these constructions? How was this
particular type of talk interaction helpful in changing the way these two people
managed their primary headaches?
DA reveals that: (1) the headache problems are entangled in many vicious
cycles, Catch-22 situations and even double-binds, and that these patterns have the
tendency to perpetuate the problems; (2) the meaning of the headaches vary from
one patient to the other, being greatly influenced by their personal experiences,
family histories and interaction with health professionals; (3) these meanings
influence the co-construction of the therapeutic aims, with management (rather
than a cure) emerging as a more achievable goal, with additional auxiliary aims also
becoming very important; (4) specific interventions for managing the headaches and
for achieving the auxiliary aims lead to concrete changes; (5) these changes are
sometimes generalized for other situations, and therapy is seen as a useful resource.
Thus, this study shows some of the potentialities of brief therapy of systemic
orientation to manage primary headaches, producing concrete suggestions that can
be applied in clinical work
Brain electric fields, belief in the paranormal, and reading of emotion words
The present work reports two experiments on brain electric correlates of cognitive and emotional functions. (1) Studying paranormal belief, 35-channel resting EEG (10 believers and 13 skeptics) was analyzed with "Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography" (LORETA) in seven frequency bands. LORETA gravity centers of all bands shifted to the left in believers vs. sceptics, and showed that believers had stronger left fronto-temporo-parietal activity than skeptics. Self-rating of affective attitude showed believers to be less negative than skeptics. The observed EEG lateralization agreed with the ‘valence hypothesis’ that posits predominant left hemispheric processing for positive emotions. (2) Studying emotions, positive and negative emotion words were presented to 21 subjects while "Event-Related Potentials" (ERPs) were recorded. During word presentation (450 ms), 13 microstates (steps of information processing) were identified. Three microstates showed different potential maps for positive vs. negative words; LORETA functional imaging showed stronger activity in microstate #4 (106-122 ms) for positive words right anterior, for negative words left central; in #6 (138-166 ms) for positive words left anterior, for negative words left posterior; in #7 (166-198 ms), for positive words right anterior, for negative words right central. In conclusion: during word processing, the extraction of emotion content starts as early as 106 ms after stimulus onset; the brain identifies emotion content repeatedly in three separate, brief microstate epochs; and, this processing of emotion content in the three microstates involves different brain mechanisms to represent the distinction positive vs. negative valence.Die Arbeit umfasst zwei Experimente zu hirnelektrischen Korrelaten kognitiver und emotionaler Funktionen. (1) Glauben an paranormale Phänomene: 35-Kanal Ruhe-EEG (10 Gläubige, 13 Skeptiker) wurde mit "Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography" (LORETA) analysiert (7 EEG-Frequenzbänder). LORETA zeigte Links-Verschiebung der Schwerpunkte aller Bänder bei Gläubigen durch erhöhte Aktivität links fronto-temporo-parietal. Die Affektive Haltung war im Selbst-Rating bei Gläubigen weniger negativ als bei Skeptikern. Die EEG-Lateralisierung passt zur Valenz-Hypothese emotionaler Verarbeitung, die vorwiegend linkshemisphärische Aktivität bei positiver Emotion postuliert. (2) Zur Emotions-Verarbeitung wurden 21 Versuchspersonen emotional positive und negative Wörter gezeigt und dabei "Event-Related Potentials" (ERPs) registriert. 13 Mikrozustände (Informations-Verarbeitungsschritte) wurden während der Darbietungszeit (450 ms) identifiziert. In 3 Mikrozuständen unterschieden sich die topographischen ERP-Karten für positive und negative Wörter. LORETA zeigte erhöhte Aktivität im Mikrozustand #4 (106-122 ms) für positive Wörter rechts anterior, für negative links zentral; im Mikrozustand #6 (138-166 ms) für positive Wörter links anterior, für negative links posterior; im Mikrozustand #7 (166-198 ms) für positive Wörter rechts anterior, für negative rechts zentral. Zusammenfassend: die Extraktion emotionalen Gehalts beginnt bereits 106 ms nach Stimulusbeginn, umfasst repetitiv drei separate, kurze Verarbeitungsschritte, und erfolgt in diesen Schritten auf unterschiedliche Art, d.h. benutzt unterschiedliche Hirnmechanismen zur Inkorporation der Unterscheidung positiv-negativ
