Accumulation Of Elements In Annual Tree Rings Measured By Synchrotron X-ray Fluorescence Analysis
Wood samples of hardwood (Eucalyptus sp.) and softwood (Pinus sp.) showing typical anatomical features treated with CCA (copper-chromium-arsenic) were analyzed. The distribution and quantification of metals in the sapwood/ heartwood (Eucalyptus sp.) and in the growth-rings (Pinus sp.) were obtained. The samples were scanned in 320 μm steps in the vertical direction. An x-ray beam of ∼320 × 180 urn was used. For excitation of the elements white beam synchrotron radiation was employed and for x-ray detection an Si(Li) semiconductor detector. The x-ray fluorescence intensities for the elements K, Ca, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn and As were measured. Heterogeneous distribution of the elements was verified across growth-rings indicating irregular efficiency of the preservative distribution inside wood in the softwood samples. As expected, in eucalyptus the presence of the elements Cr, Cu and As was verified in the sapwood region only. Flexibiliteit in het ontwikkelingsproces: Stationsgebieden
In the coming decades, the attention paid to urban area development will increasingly be focused on suburban area locations. These inner city redevelopments are increasingly made up of property development and infrastructure development. The enormous size of these projects makes this form of development extra complex. Because of the large scope of the projects and the increasing number of actors that is participating in these projects, this will result in a longer development process. If one takes a closer look at these projects, one can see that the projects are often cumbersome and difficult adaptable to changes in the process environment. The tight schedules often used in current and past processes, that describe the process from start to finish, will no longer be able function adequately. Holding on to a fixed image in the future, can mean that the property program will not match the future demand on the moment of delivery. Is flexibility the key to succes?Urban Area DevelopmentReal Estate and HousingArchitectur
Towards a New Model for Collaboration: Evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the “Aronsohn contracting vision”
The research in this thesis is about the Aronsohn contracting vision, an innovative contract form developed by Aronsohn management. After successfully applying the method on a number of projects they were interested in a more formal evaluation of the method. This evaluation is presented in this report. The idea of Aronsohn is compared to the traditional contract, the bouwteam contract, the D&C contract and later also the Design Novate Construct (DNC) contract.Construction Management and EngineeringBouwCivil Engineering and Geoscience

Prevalência de mineralização aórtica detectada no abate de bovinos no estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil Prevalence of aortic mineralization in slaughtered bovine from the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil
Fêmeas e machos castrados (54,6% e 50,7%, PThis study describes the prevalence of aortic mineralization in slaughtered bovine in the state of Minas Gerais. Fragments of thoracic aorta from 783 animals from different origin, breed, gender and age were evaluated macroscopically. All lesions were characterized and divided in, grade I, grade II, grade III and grade IV, depending on the severity of the lesions. A total of 298 (38.1%) aortas had lesions, as follow: 180 grade I (23.0%), 59 grade II (7.5%), 35 grade III (4.5%) and 24 grade IV (3.1%). Differences concerning age, breed and sex were observed. Females and castrated males (54.6% and 50.7%, P<0.00001 and P<0.0001, respectively) compared to intact males, zebu-crossbred and mixed bred (59.3% and 47.8%, P<0.02 and P<0.05, respectively) compared to pure zebu (37,4%) and animals older then 3 years (59.4%, P<0.0001) compared to animals 2-3 years or under 2 years of age (21.7% and 13.9%, respectively) were more frequently affected by aortic mineralization
Major Ecommerce Focus on Product Management Future
In recent years, people’s acceptance of online shopping has increased markedly with the gradual maturing of e-commerce. This paper aims to propose an ecommerce platform for furniture stores that suits small and medium businesses to expand choice and convenience, allowing customers to buy from a wide array of products with the click of a button. Although there are many existing ecommerce systems in the market, our proposed system stands out for its user experience. This proposed system focuses mainly on four main functions: product management, order management, order-review management, and user management. The current research has been undertaken to walk you through the literature view, methodology, functional overview of the proposed ecommerce system, and discussion. The study further examines the key variables imperative for the success of the proposed system. The findings of this study afford practical implications for the improvement of the online shopping experience of consumers for furniture companies
