Ernani Silva Bruno: Intellectual Trajectory and Methods of Constructing São Paulo\'s Past
No full textEste trabalho busca analisar a trajetória intelectual e modos de trabalho de Ernani Silva Bruno, a fim de discutir sua relação com a cidade de São Paulo, seus métodos de produção, bem como identificar seu enquadramento teórico em relação às principais correntes de história e memória. Em um primeiro momento, explora-se a trajetória pessoal e profissional do autor estudado. Posteriormente, apresenta-se uma revisão teórica acerca dos principais conceitos relacionados à história e memória. Em seguida, analisa-se as principais produções acerca do passado da cidade de São Paulo e, por fim, as principais obras de Silva Bruno, articulando-as com o conteúdo teórico e com as demais obras apresentadas anteriormente. Justifica-se essa pesquisa a partir da identificação da obra de Ernani Silva Bruno como referência no tocante à construção do passado de São Paulo, apesar de o autor não ser historiador de formação, nem ser aceito como tal pela comunidade acadêmica de história, levantando-se questionamentos acerca de sua importância para a construção coletiva de memória na cidadeThis research aims to analyze Ernani Silva Brunos path and work to discuss his relationship with the city of São Paulo, his methods of production, as well as to identify his theoretical framework in relation to the main currents of history and memory. Initially, the personal and professional trajectory of the author under study is explored. Subsequently, a theoretical review is presented on the main concepts related to history and memory. Next, the main productions regarding the past of the city of São Paulo are analyzed, and finally, Silva Bruno\'s major works are examined, linking them to the theoretical content and other works presented earlier. No full textO presente trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma análise, dentro do âmbito da Cultura Material, do Fichário dos Equipamentos, Usos, e Costumes da Casa Brasileira (FECB), criado pelo primeiro diretor do Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB) Ernani Silva Bruno, ao longo do período de 1970 a 1979. O caminho seguido se inicia com uma apresentação sobre a trajetória de Silva Bruno, se destacando o momento de entrada de Silva Bruno na fundação do MCB, com o intuito de realizar uma breve discussão sobre como o embate entre diferentes concepções de Cultura presentes à época influenciaram nas diretrizes do Museu. Segue para uma discussão metodológica acerca de Cultura Material e para uma análise, com base nisto, do Fichário propriamente dito. Se encerra com uma discussão sobre os desdobramentos do Fichário e na sua conexão com diferentes visões historiográficas. Por fim, se discute brevemente, como conclusão, sobre os impactos que revisitações atuais ao fichário podem ter, dentro de uma perspectiva historiográficaThe present work analyzes the Fichário dos Equipamentos, Usos e Costumes da Casa Brasileira (FECB), within the framework of Material Culture. The FECB was devised and created by the first director of the Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB), Ernani Silva Bruno, within the period from 1970 through 1979. The work starts with a presentation of Silva Brunos trajectory. Emphasis is given on the period in which Silva Bruno entered the discussions about founding the MCB. With this at hand, a brief discussion is made on how the debate concerning different understandings of Culture at the time of the foundation influenced MCBs future guidelines. In the sequence, a methodological discussion on Material Culture is made, and it extends to an analysis of the FECB. A final point is a discussion about the outcomes brought about by the FECB, together with a discussion about its connections to different historiographical currents. No full textO presente projeto tem por objetivo discutir, sob a ótica da gestão de museus, em perspectiva histórica, a criação, implantação e a gestão do Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB) sob a direção do historiador e memorialista Ernani Silva Bruno, entre 1970 e 1979. A hipótese que investigamos foi que a gestão de Silva Bruno, no âmbito dos museus públicos ligados a Secretaria da Cultura do Governo do Estado de São Paulo, encontrou um ambiente favorável para o desenvolvimento das atividades museológicas, se comparado a outros museus criados em períodos anteriores. Isto motivado por um cenário que consideramos positivo da política cultural do Estado, que anos antes havia desenvolvido uma nova estrutura administrativa, que possibilitara criar uma instituição museológica com objetivo claro e coerente. Tudo isto inserido no contexto internacional dos anos de 1970, em que havia um intenso processo de formulações e renovações na emergente área de Museologia, no âmbito do International Council of Museums - ICOM/ UNESCO. Nossa proposta é contribuir para uma melhor compreensão de seu projeto, com possível aproveitamento das reflexões para o contexto atual do Museu.The aim of this project is to discuss through a historical perspective concerning museum management, the establishment, implementation and management of the Museu da Casa Brasileira under Ernani da Silva Bruno\'s administration between 1970 and 1979. The hypothesis under investigation was that Silva Bruno\'s administration, within the scope of public museums managed by the State Department of Culture, has found convenient circumstances to establish its museological activities in comparison to other experiences from previous times. Driven by a favourable environment promoted by the State\'s Cultural Policies, that had created a new bureaucratic structure a few years earlier, it was possible to build a museum with clear and coherent objectives. This process was embedded in the international context of transformations and new interpretations in the Museum Studies field, within the scope of the International Council of Museums - ICOM/ UNESCO in the 1970\'s. The objective of this investigation is to promote a better understanding of Silva Bruno\'s project, hoping to contribute to the Museum\'s current demands
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
