The construction of professional identities in the contexts of work
No full textThis chapter identifies and analyzes some characteristics of working situations that are important in the construction of professional identities. It is claimed that professional identity presumes a dynamic process and is constructed and reconstructed in social situations and interactions. Work has a central place in the life of individuals and societies. The contexts of work are places par excellence for investment, expression, negotiation and recognition of the actor themselves and of others. They are, thus, situations for the attribution offeelings about work, ofrelational transactions, oflearning and production of professional know ledge, which are fundamental elements in the (re )construction of professional identity and which are emphasized here below

Formação, investigação e práticas de Mediação para a Inclusão Social (MIS) em Portugal

formação, investigação e das práticas de Mediação para a Inclusão Social em
Portugal e decorre de um estudo realizado a nível nacional no âmbito do Projeto
ArleKin – Formação em Mediação para a Inclusão Social através da mobilidade
europeia (referência: 539947-LLP-1-2013-1-FR- GRUNDTVIG-GMP).
Esta sistematização das práticas e da investigação, que inclui também uma
síntese da regulamentação existente e da formação que tem sido realizada,
revela um progressivo e consistente percurso já efetuado ao nível das
práticas, das políticas, da formação e investigação no âmbito da Mediação
Social em Portugal. O texto organiza-se em vários pontos, nomeadamente o
enquadramento teórico-concetual da Mediação para a Inclusão Social (MIS),
a origem, evolução e perspetivas atuais da MIS, estruturas, instituições e
atores intervenientes no domínio da MIS em Portugal, regulamentação, formação
e investigação
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
