What is the impact of Authentic Leadership on Leader Accountability in a non-profit context? A mixed methods investigation.
In this research, the impact on and relationship of Authentic Leadership with Leader Accountability was investigated. This mixed methods study was conducted within UK non-profit organisations. This investigation had two strands to its key objective; the first was to note the impact of the two theories using Quantitative measures of the Authentic Leadership Questionnaire and Leader Accountability Scale. The results of this phase of the research supported the propositions that the independent variables (self-awareness, balanced processing, relational transparency, internalised moral perspective) of Authentic Leadership positively impacted on the dependent variables (responsibility, openness, answerability) of Leader Accountability. The second was to understand the relationship of the two theories using a Qualitative approach which adopted semi-structured interviews and cross-case analysis. The findings of these interviews with non-profit leaders and followers revealed that the perceptions of authenticity and accountability are evident; those leaders who exhibited these virtues were praised by followers as being effective leaders. Therefore, in general, Leader Accountability can be regarded as an actionable strategy to further support Authentic Leadership behaviours within the UK non-profit sector.Contributions to academic knowledge are that for the first time, the theory of Authentic Leadership was studied in relation to Leader Accountability within the non-profit context. Both the theories were investigated using mixed methodology, and self-awareness was found to be the main leadership characteristic apparent within the UK non-profit sector along with other variables of authentic leadership and leader accountability. The implications and future recommendations are also addressed
Wahhabi or National Hero? Siddiq Hasan Khan
Hardly is any historical Indian Muslim figure of the 1 9th century as controversial as Sayyid Siddiq Hasan Khan al-Qannauji al-Bukhari (1832-1890). The reason for all the contrasting assessments of his personality was his astonishing career: he rose from an impoverished scholar to the son-in-law of the Prime Minister at the court of Bhopal. In 1871, the widowed ruler of this principality, Shah Jahan Begum (r. 1868-1901) chose him as her second husband. After his marriage, Siddiq Hasan Khan established the reformist movement Ahl-e Hadith (people of the prophetic traditions), which soon became a dominant Muslim group in Bhopal. But as soon as Siddiq Hasan's career had started, it came to a sudden end
Zameen Zameen ki ladai : The contemporary implications of the property law inconsistencies in 'M. Siddiq V. Mahant Suresh Das'
The Babri Masjid- Ram Janmabhoomi dispute is a land ownership dispute which came to life over 134 years ago between two ofIndia's most numerically-dominant religious communities. A 1045 page long judgement, M Siddiq v. Mahant Suresh Das ('Siddiq') is riddled with socio-political and religious complications, given the centuries-old tension between the two communities. This burdened the Supreme Court to disintegrate these complications and focus on the proprietary rights issues, including, inter alia, Title of Property, Exclusive Possession, and Dispossession of Property, which forms this dispute's legal framework. In analysing this disintegration, certain visible inconsistencies occur within the legal reasonings used in the judgement with respect to the allocation of the 2.77 acres of land. However, in the process of delivering its verdict that the disputed fragment of land belonged to Bhagwan ShriRam Virajman, the Court reduced the questions of who has title over property to questions of which community's faith is stronger, and thereby digressed from the legal framework of this dispute. This paper attempts to discover, disclose and discuss these very inconsistencies. It addresses the Supreme Court's dilemma when resolving the property issues independent from the contemporary socioreligious issues. Finally, it also analyses the implications of the Siddiq Judge
A multiscale constitutive model for intergranular stress corrosion cracking in type 304 austenitic stainless steel
Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) is a fracture mechanism in sensitised austenitic stainless steels exposed to critical environments where the intergranular cracks extends along the network of connected susceptible grain boundaries. A constitutive model is presented to estimate the maximum intergranular crack growth by taking into consideration the materials mechanical properties and microstructure characters distribution. This constitutive model is constructed based on the assumption that each grain is a two phase material comprising of grain interior and grain boundary zone. The inherent micro-mechanisms active in the grain interior during IGSCC is based on crystal plasticity theory, while the grain boundary zone has been modelled by proposing a phenomenological constitutive model motivated from cohesive zone modelling approach. Overall, response of the representative volume is calculated by volume averaging of individual grain behaviour. Model is assessed by performing rigorous parametric studies, followed by validation and verification of the proposed constitutive model using representative volume element based FE simulations reported in the literature. In the last section, model application is demonstrated using intergranular stress corrosion cracking experiments which shows a good agreement
Perspektif Mahasiswa terhadap Metode, Media, dan Model Pembelajaran Daring Setelah Pandemi Covid-19
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been significant changes in the world of education, from offline learning to online learning. They have always been an exciting topic to discuss to find the most effective and efficient learning solutions for educators and students, including at the university level. For this reason, this research was conducted to explain the method of delivering material, platforms/social media, learning models that are easy and effective for students, and perceived barriers to online learning. The method used in this research is a survey method with a quantitative approach. The population is all students at Universitas Islam Negeri Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, with the determination of the sample using the Slovin method. The results obtained showed that 57.7% the delivery of the material was more effective and efficient if it was done with live video (video conference), with a platform that was considered easy and effective was Google Meet, while the obstacle felt by 63% of the sample in online learning was the internet network. Thus, inadequate internet network was found to disturbed the concentration. Furthermore, Blended Learning was the learning model that students want to apply
Konsep sastera Islam oleh Siddiq Fadhil = The concept of Islamic literature according to Siddiq Fadhil
This study relates to the concept of Islamic literature that was propagated by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Siddiq Fadhil. He has brought a new point of view in the world of literature which is the combination of Islamic literature and Maqasid al Shariah which is a part of al Tahsiniyat. He also set 4 conditions in order to produce an Islamic literature, first: the author of Islamic literature must be a Muslim. Second: that Muslim must live in the religion with real application because through the application, it will create an Islamic literature. Third: Islamic literature must bring the meaning to the devotion of God. Fourth: the Islamic literature must also be beneficial to all the creations of God. In addition, he also not ignoring the two main aspects of a literary: form and theme. Besides, he denied the Art for Art and Art for Society because these two creeds that are not realistic and just illusions
Violent extremism in Pakistan: a failure of public education
Following the murder of Mashal Khan on a university campus in northern Pakistan, Hamza Siddiq explores the link between Pakistan’s public education system and incidents of violence motivated by intolerance. He argues that in order to promote tolerance, the curriculum needs to be reformed to promote critical thinking and informed debate
